Temisko Logger 1.61.1 UPDATE REVIEW (Patreon)
Content
Here’s a closer look at everything that changed in the Temisko Logger update for ATS 1.61. This update touched nearly every part of the trailer’s cargo system, including timber weights, payload limits, dynamic loading, payouts, cargo availability, and a significantly expanded pickup and delivery network.
The previous wheels and rims have been replaced with the new models from Trailer Wheels v3, bringing the Temisko in line with the rest of the updated trailer lineup.
What’s New in the Temisko Logger Update
A lot of this update focuses on what happens once you actually put the trailer to work. Timber weights now reflect the species being hauled, the Rotobec loader properly reduces available payload, and cargo payouts follow the amount of freight you’re transporting.
More Realistic Timber Weights
Previously, the cargo weights weren’t properly accounting for differences between timber species. I rebuilt every load using real green-timber densities, giving Oak, Birch, White Ash, Pine, Spruce, and treated poles their own values.
Each chassis now has its own cargo weight ceiling based on its empty weight and the 80,000-pound gross combination limit used for these configurations. Previously, none of the Temisko chassis had a cargo ceiling defined.
Rotobec Loader Payload Correction
The Rotobec self-loader previously had no effect on available payload. A trailer equipped with the loader could carry the same cargo weight as one without it, despite having approximately 11,000 pounds of additional equipment on the deck.
That has now been corrected. Choosing the loader-equipped chassis reduces the available cargo payload to account for the equipment’s weight.
Rebalanced Cargo Payouts
Every cargo now uses a consistent payout rate based on the base game’s log freight, so compensation follows the weight being hauled.
Previously, loads carrying the same weight could differ in payout by as much as 2×. I also corrected an issue where “(Loader)” cargo variants paid roughly 20% less than their otherwise identical standard versions for the same haul.
These changes bring the cargo economy into a much more consistent range across the trailer’s load options.
Expanded Cargo Pickup and Delivery Locations
Company and delivery locations have been completely reviewed to give timber freight more believable origins and destinations.
I added routing for 11 companies that previously had none, including Heartwood Furniture, the Pacific log-export ports in Seattle, Tacoma, Oakland, and San Francisco, and six rail terminals.
That expands the log delivery network from 15 lanes to 208, giving the trailer substantially more delivery options.
Cargo loading times have also been adjusted for improved realism.
