I don't really buy into the theory that Lydia followed Uche into the show. That was a theory Aaliyah came up with when she was in emotional free fall. Uche grabbed onto it because it fit his need to craft a narrative that supports his narcissism. The logistics of ensuring that also seems far fetched. Unless production knew at the time of casting, which if true makes the whole "experiment" invalid.

Milton’s mom gave me LIFE. Yes, she was interrogating like a trained CIA agent. I want her backstory and a movie (lol). I do disagree on your take on the sister. She obviously knows Milton is not ready for marriage and her questions and side eyes were because she can clearly see this is a disaster in the making. I LOVED the juxtaposition of the family talking in the kitchen about whether they’re ready for marriage and Milton trying to get the wine cork out of the bottle with his teeth. Bravo editors. 🍷

Unpopular opinion: this might be my favorite season of Love is Blind. Normally this show becomes tedious to me after they leave the pods, but these people are such HOT MESSES that it’s actually holding my interest. I’m weirdly invested in what happens to all of these people now.

Also, Izzy is angry at the fact that Johnie has moved on from him. It isn’t sitting well with his ego. When he said that he was “so turned on” when Stacey was yelling at Johnie, that was weird. He is 100% still invested in her.

In defense of Milton! I come from a family of nerds who are not very demonstrative or outwardly emotional and where my brother especially has a very dry sense of humor. That comment about hyphenating was something my brother would say to me as a joke. The camera was pulled way back so we couldn’t see Milton’s face when he said it - that would have been the tell.

Yep. Especially for people who are love addicts or codependents, it’s common for them to either choose someone toxic and exciting *or* choose someone “safe” that doesn’t give them those feelings because they so desperately want to be treated well.

Gotta disagree a bit FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER about Mattie and Poodle’s read on Milton. I think he is a practicing Stoic. My partner and I practice Stoicism and it’s all about feeling an emotion but then making a concious decision whether or not to let the emotion affect your actions. It brings a lot of peace and calmness and a lot of Milton’s words in the way he relates to Lydia and their relationship seems to be very stoic. I actually have pretty high hopes for this couple if this is where he’s coming from. He can bring her a lot of peace.

Completely agree! I’m so surprised the boys think it’s legit. I don’t trust a word out of Uche’s mouth, and I wouldn’t trust Aaliyah either with her emotions being so heightened and erratic. If Lydia did know ahead of time Uche was going to be on the show, I think it’s more likely she had already been cast and then found out through mutual friends or something.

Milton DESTROYED Uche using big words, chilled out-ness, and kindness. Without actually saying it, he told Uche he was wrong, what he said didn’t matter, and Milton was better than him. And because of the way he said it, Uche had no comeback and can’t even trash Milton when he’s not around for what he said. Amazing. Chef’s kiss. I aspire to be able to do something like that one day.

Izzy and Stacy are that couple that scream, "we don't care what people think of us!" to anyone who will listen. Those are always the couples that care the most and love to shit talk other people's lives and relationships because they're so freaking miserable and judgemental. At least Johnie probably wouldn't have had a meltdown over his plate and cup situation.🙄

Wow, Milton talked to Uche in the most brilliant way. It was so poetic. He was acknowledging Uches experience in a way too, by saying it was the past, time to let go. Simultanously standing up for his relation with Lydia and their future. To navigate that situation with such calmness, kindness and clarity is really something else. Maybe I'm exagerating but I found it spiritual teacher level inspiring. Also when he held Lydia after and said those wonderful things to her. He sure is brilliant.

I'm sure someone taught Poodle not to touch people unless he was given permission to do so. If anyone (no matter the age or racial/ethnic background) responds negatively to unsolicited curiosity that involves being touched, it isn't an attack. Poodle's defensiveness (claiming a Black girl snarled at him for trying to pet her hair) while "apologizing" is unaddressed, internalized patriarchy. And a deft execution of transparent hypocrisy. I totally disagree with the take that Lydia was acting “scripted” when meeting Milton’s family. Maybe she seemed like that because as a woman of color, in STEM, in Texas, she knows she has to work that much harder to present herself well and be taken seriously. Nothing about how she acted seemed disingenuous to me.

maybe not followed him on the show but I do find her very weird and creepy for befriending Aaliyah after knowing she was getting close to Uche. and then the whole scene of her talking about him in detail when Aaliyah didn’t want to know any more information. She gives me obsessed ex vibes so i can see why Aaliyah assumed she followed him on the show and why Uche would think think the same

I definitely think Lydia gets obsessed but I also could see it as something that switches very quickly when she has a new interest. At this point I am just waiting for the reunion and hope there's some "cuties" style footage to clear things up. I don't trust this season at all!
