I've got some lovely Shōnagon for you talking about flowers and trees and things. I also managed to write and record an Uncanny Japan episode today (#wow!). I'll get that up (ad free here) this weekend. The episode will go up next week.

Moving day for me is February 16th, the day before the Lunar New Year. Totally accidental timing, but I love it. Thank you, P, for telling me. It inspired the next episode of the show!

I went to the Mountain God Ceremony last weekend and it was thoroughly moving and gave me goosebumps. The Mountain Men (tm) told me the ceremony is over a thousand years old and only very recently were any females allowed at all. I am also the first ever foreigner to participate, so quite emotional and some neat things happened. Wow. I promised not to give away where it took place, but they said I was allowed to share photos and the little short videos I made with you all. So I'll make a post about that soon.

But for now I must pack more and work on postcards. Did I tell you I'm turning my kitchen table here into a letter writing and postcard making table in the new place? I'm really looking forward to that big space and trying hanga carving and brush and ink and watercolors again😃🫟.
