So much I still need to update about (the trip, the reading and discussion, ... other things I'm sure), but I want to let you know where things are at the moment.

Envelopes are packed, addressed, sealed, and will be sent tomorrow in the am. I found some antique/old photos that were taken of Mt. Fuji at the reading event I went to, and got one for all the Tengu and Oni patrons. Sarubobo-good luck amulets, pretty drawstrip fish bag with something peculiar inside, stuff like that.

Making postcards this week, so they'll get sent the beginning of next week.

Bedtime Story is finished and getting background soundscape or music at this very moment. Hopefully, I can put that up here sometime mid week.

I'm working on the next podcast. I want it to come out a bit before Halloween. I'm going to do another story, the very famous Yotsuya Kaidan this time, and I want it to be spooky and cool and all that.

In other news, I got three good emails last week. One asking to collaborate on a storytelling podcast (two episodes). The second asking to contribute to an anthology due to come out next year. And three asking if I'd like to do an essay/story for a big (I'll let you guys know first once contract is signed) *insert name of* multinational corporation's website. It'll be an evergreen piece about spooky Japanese art. I'm super stoked about all of those, but that last one has me reeling a bit. I don't know if it will open any doors, but it's a heck of an opportunity, so looking forward to working on that.

Oh, one more before I forget: the reading I did at the event last Monday was done in English (me) and Japanese (a man named Ayame-san who is a fantastic reader), and Rich was there to record it. Fingers crossed it recorded well, because we plan to put that up here and as a podcast. It was complete with guy-on-keyboards doing spooky music, too. More about that event with photos soon.

Okay, we've got two more typhoons coming our way. I'm thinking they're not going to be too bad and might miss altogether, but I should probably check the forecast just in case.

Thank you and XO,

terrie

Photo: That's me with Sakabashira Imiri (manga artist) and a monster he created. This was taken during the talk/reading I did last week. Imiri-san is quite the character. I'll put up more photos later, but he drew a life-like caricature of me while HE was wearing nothing but knee high stockings, and a short nurse's mini dress..oh, and nurse's hat. I hear he's in a punk band, too. Remember I once said that Japan isn't that whacky place you always hear about? Well, sometimes...
