Here it is already the end of August and I wanted to give a real quick update on all that is going on.

1) I was able to send postcards this month to everyone...(except, still, Australia, and New Zealand. I just don't understand why my post office is not taking them. I'm going to buy stamps, though, and send anyway. Worst case scenario, they come back to me. Best case scenario, they make it.)

Anyway, I sent August postcards to all (but two patrons) several days ago, so keep an eye out for those. I'll start sending the past month's postcards soon. I'll stamp and attempt to send to New Zealand and Australia, as well.

2) I was able to send some envelopes this month, too. Lucky countries are: Germany, the UK, Norway, and Sweden. So, again, they were sent several days ago, so they should arrive in a week or two. One of the goodies inside is the amabie candies in the photo above. I'm keeping everyone else's cool and safe, so I can send them when I'm able.

More and more I think a fall/end of the year/Christmas box with all past months' goodies included is what's going to happen. I've got my fingers crossed the US will open to mail...but reading the news on what's going on there with the postal system is disheartening me. I'm still looking at other options. I'll let you know. For now though, postcards were accepted, so perhaps small packages next...?

3) I'm working on this month's Bedtime Story. It'll be a lovely ghostly one. I'm also thinking about telling about a creepy thing that happened to me over obon holiday as a warm up.

4) I'm also working on the next podcast. It'll be one of the Nana Fushigi (Seven Mysterious Occurrences) from my prefecture. Remember I did The Rock that Cried at Night? Something like that, but different. I'll actually be leaving the house to do more research, take photos and audio. So I'm excited about that.

5) I'm going to also put up a summer recipe I made the other day. Richard is working on the cooking Youtube channel. I'm in awe with how much research and work he is putting into it. The man does nothing half-heartedly. I'm really excited and can't wait for you to see it.

I think that is everything for now. Everyone continue to stay healthy and safe,

XO,

terrie

Yeah the US is a mess at the moment with the mail on top of everything else :/ It’s so disheartening

If Richard doesn’t teach us how to make the most fuwafuwa omuraisu ever, I’m unsubscribing! Just kidding, of course. Even though the USA is a hellish combination of chaos and embarrassment, surely we’re all looking forward to a Merry Uncanny- mas, whether it be before or after Christmas.

Hey Terrie! to my great surprise I got a small air mail package (or a very thick air mail envelope?) from a friend in Tokyo today! So maybe you should try those packages to the US again.

That is GREAT news! When I went last week they were excited I could finally send postcards and letters. I'll check the website again and perhaps go to the main PO. Thank you so much for letting me know!

Lol, oh, he's so studying and cooking and experimenting, it's inspiring. He's got a list of things he's wanting to make. I'll pencil in chou fuwafuwa omuraisu! I remember trying to make that for my son back in the day. Medium fuwafuwa.

Hello there! Yesterday was a happy day: the package dated August 16th made it here! Thanks! I hope you are well. We're still in the middle (?) of the pandemic, so who knows what the future holds? Here in Sweden much of the policies still hold (social distancing, max number of people in gatherings, try to work from home, etc).

So glad it made it! I just sent this month's package yesterday. I hope it doesn't take a month to get there, but everything is so topsy turvy. Keep staying safe and healthy and thank you for letting me know. ^^d
