Hey hey,

Here is it Christmas Eve in Japan, and I just finished up the Bedtime Story. It a bit on the longer side and one of my own stories, actually. It's from my first book (A Robe of Feathers), called "The Smallest Unit of Time". A bittersweet piece if there ever was one, and after reading it again after all this time, I'm totally rewriting it. Lots to explore here.

I want to wish everyone a relaxed and sweet Christmas/holidays/end of the year and New Year. Thank you for all your love and support. You mean the world to me.

Stay well, I'm sending all the love your way,

terrie

P.S. Photo is an old one of Cha Cha Maru, my best little buddy. I really miss him around this time of year. He loved how excited I got when he brought me stuff, so while I was working on the computer he'd clean the ornaments off the Christmas tree one at a time until the table was full and he couldn't reach any more. Then he'd dig around in my purse and pull out 1,000 yen bills and give them to me. Such a funny pal.

Well, I'm always up for the miraculous and that is what that was. I think you said you modified the original story for clarity? Well, I followed it well enough. But I prefer a little lack of clarity. Maybe because it engenders a sense of faith and trust in the story and storyteller. I'm not sure. Certainly in this case it gives a sense of gentle waves washing over feet (wait, I might be having a flashback to my younger self at an Oregon beach!) Anyhow, this was a joy. A nice holiday treasure. ありがとうございました。元気で。

Ha! That made me laugh. Personally I'm with you. I like when I read a story and what's going on kind of sneaks up on me, and by the end I'm just blown away. Jeffreyさん、いつもつもありがとうございます。ご意見大切しています!
