“Oh, please…” Both mutants stood at the door, wrapped up in jackets and hats tightly enough that Steve didn’t doubt the snow outside was still going strong. “Don’t cease the gossiping on our account, Captain.”The boy came in first, shaking off the white that still remained before taking off his cap to show a much brighter shock of white. The girl came in a step behind him and just to the side, both brother and sister shrugging off their winter wear on the way to the table. Pietro was the first to reach his seat, his longcoat folded over the back of an empty chair backing the heavily-tinted windows while he took his time to smooth his collar down flat. “I’m sure it’s nothing we haven’t heard before, after all.”Steve made sure to put a smile on, well aware the two had earned one today. “Actually, Pietro, I was just about done putting together some anti-terrorist measures I’m planning on showing Secretary Rumsfeld tomorrow. I’d like it if you and Wanda offered some contributions.”“Because we’re former terrorists, Captain?” Wanda rested her chin on a raised palm. “Fair enough.”“No.” Steve shook his head at the girl leaning forward in her seat, her brother easing even further back. “It’s because this is a rather personal situation to you and I’m sure you’d have some thoughts.”“Well, thank you, Captain.” A slight smile spread across the female Maximoff’s face, a nod aimed back at Steve. “Pietro and I would be glad to help.”A sigh left her brother beside her. “I’m sure. It’s not like we spent all morning helping or anything.”“And that help was greatly appreciated, Pietro.” Steve nodded back toward him. “Not to mention the intel you two brought us this morning. It made all the difference. Thank you.”
