Soul Society is where all souls exist. Seireitei is the town in the middle where the nobles and Soul Reapers reside. Kido are the soul reaper spells, you've seen Rukia cast and mention them before. It's hard to pick up on this in the anime but Kido are divided into: Bakudo - Utility Spells like barriers and seals Hado - Offensive Spells Kaido - Healing Spells Spiritual Energy/Power you mentioned is called Reiryoku. Once again since all the terminology is Japanese you have to study this shit. It will be on the exam.

Haven’t watched the reaction yet, but I realized I forgot to mention something from last week: Kukaku doesn’t have a prosthetic arm in the manga—just a bandaged stump. Also, for some reason, the scene with Chad and Shibata is almost twice as long in the anime. The extra stuff they added doesn’t really do anything; it doesn’t expand on Chad’s character in any way that's meaningful since we already knew everything they tried to reinforce. Honestly, it frustrates me—time was spent padding out a scene that changes nothing, while genuinely important character moments from the manga were cut. Feels like such a wasted opportunity.

You know, I can't say I’ve ever been that big on characters like Kukaku or Rangiku. They’re cool and fun, sure, but that super confident, larger-than-life, teasing archetype just isn’t my favorite—no matter how great they look. I tend to prefer characters like Orihime, who might not be as flashy but have a genuine warmth and sincerity that I find way more compelling; episode 24 demonstrated this surprisingly faithfully when she tried to hide her hunger and exhaustion just so she could be there for Ichigo as he struggled with his training. Honestly, I think characters like her deserve to be appreciated just as much for their looks as for who they are on the inside. It’s easy to get caught up in the big personalities, but there’s something really special about characters who wear their heart on their sleeve and show strength in quieter, more personal ways.

It kinda helps to know the numbers in Japanese from 1-10 (because 11, 12, and 13 are just ten-one, ten-two, ten-three), but Renji is Byakuya's lieutenant. They're in squad 6 (according to Renji's armband and Byakuya's back).

The plan being so dumb is why I love it, reminds me of Whole Cake invasion. I love the high tensity.

The plan is pretty stupid, but there were no other options tbh. Soul Society has that whole barrier set up, so the only choice is invading through that loud flashy cannon. I think the participants all know that it's basically a mission where failure is the most likely outcome, but they want to save Rukia anyway.
