The E 11mm F1.8 is my favourite of the three new APS-C lenses. It has the full-frame equivalent angle-of-view of a 16.5mm Full Frame lens. It is designed for Sony's APS-C cameras but could also be used with Full-Frame cameras (if you don't mind shooting at a lower resolution or shooting movies in APS-C/Super 35 mode). It might be a lightweight alternative to carrying a more expensive 16-35 full frame lens.

This is one of three new wide-angle APS-C prime lenses (the first to be released in nearly a decade). Sony have been making much sharper and lighter lenses in recent years so these are a welcome addition to Sony's lens line-up.
Perhaps Sony's primary focus, with the release of these three new lenses, is for Vloggers who need either wide aperture wide-angle lenses (for figure background separation) or a Power Zoom. They will appeal to owners of the ZV-E10 camera or owners of Full-Frame cameras shooting movies in APS-C/Super 35 mode, e.g., owners shooting 4K movies at 60fps need to shoot in crop mode so may as well use an APS-C lens.

The lens may also appeal to owners of the higher resolution full-frame cameras who don't mind shooting landscapes with a reduced resolution (for photographers who sometimes want to travel with lightweight camera kit).
