#SundayRundown Bleach TYBW The One & Only Dual Bladed True Shikai: Zangetsu (Slaying Moon) In it’s Original Shikai form, Zangetsu is an oversized (5’7″, nearly the same height as Ichigo who was 5’8 pre-time skip, now 5’11) plain black blade with a broad silver cutting edge, without a guard plate or proper hilt. It just has a white ribbon wrapped around the handle. The tape serves several purposes: When Ichigo is not using Zangetsu, the band wraps around the blade, and can be used to tie Zangetsu to his back. This is especially helpful since Zangetsu is no longer sheathed in the Shikai, but is permanently liberated. In combat, it unwraps again automatically. After Ichigo lost and regained his soul reaper powers, his sword has also undergone a change: the top and bottom ends now have arcuate tips, the grip surface more closely resembles that of the Bankai, and the band has been removed. Instead, like in Bankai, a chain now hangs down from the sword. Zangetsu’s abilities have not changed. However, it become substantially stronger due to the additional Fullbringer power. Now that Ichigo has found, forgive, and accepted himself after uncovering his roots, Zangetsu turned out to be a dual blade as the result of Ichigo’s dual nature: A large sword representing the Hollow White as Zangetsu’s true form, and a smaller blade representing the Old Man Zangetsu as the source of Ichigo’s Quincy powers. They’re both combined and mixed into his soul reaper powers. In this state he is known as True Shikai Ichigo. As for one of his new signature moves, Getsuga Jujisho (Moon-Fang Cross-Blast Piercer) it’s basically just a double cross slash Getsuga Tensho, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. A young man that has found clarity in a world beyond his own, caught in the middle of 2 clashing society factions, must now clean house and take care of some bitches: The Bambies & their Schrifts (Script/Holy Letter/Signature Ability) Liltotto Lamperd, designated "G" - "The Glutton Meninas McAllon, designated "P" - "The Power" Candice Catnipp, designated "T" - "The Thunderbolt" Giselle Gewelle, designated "Z" - "The Zombie" Before they went and activated their Vollständigs (Complete Holy Forms) they powered themselves with a subjugation ability Quilge Opie used against Ichigo: Sklaverei = Holy Salve, achieved by perfecting the basic Quincy ability of gathering spirit particles to the highest degree. It allows the user to complete control over foreign spirit particles, and are named as followed: Candice Catnipp – Vollständig Barbarriel “Thunder of God” Liltotto Lamperd – Vollstandig Gagael “Hunger of God” Meninas McAllon – Vollstandig Ponipora “Power of God” Giselle Gewelle – Vollstandig Azhalbiora “Death of God” We had one other named Vollstandig like Äs Nödt “Tatar Foras Fear of God” Them fighting Ichigo in those forms was completely anime original as an extension of their fight despite this episode covering about 7 chapters by trimming down and fine-tuning the dialogue, as well as the fast paced action. Last Ep marked when it covered 100 chapters of the arc in the manga, and as of this Ep with the shot of Ichigo in his new outfit unscathed by Candice’s attack marks the half way point of the entire arc in the manga. So 20 1/2 + 20 1/2 = 41, leaving us with exactly 12 Eps worth of anime original/additional extended content.

Sunday Rundown! Quite a number of pull ups in this episode, though Orihime's had such an impact it had you guys forgot what else happened in the episode (LOL!). Between Ichigo's entrance, his Getsuga Jujishou, Liltotto's humour, and the soundtrack continuing to impress with new tracks (including a number one remix sung by Adam Brown), this was a superb episode. Uryu is really deep in his Sasuke esque arc right now, which is a little funny since Noriaki Sugiyama voices both of them. He must have read the script for this season and thought that he already did this shit before. Kenny knocked tf out and Yachiru nowhere to be found, wonder what your theories are for what happens to the both of them 👀

#SundayRundown Boy did this fight get a huge overhaul in the anime. We got almost none of this in the manga; everything after Ichigo’s extra cloaks coming off was basically anime original except the reveal of the Getsuga Jujisho. Getting to see the Bambis use not just their Vollstandigs, but also Sklaverei (Holy Slave) in conjunction was a real treat to see as a manga reader. Gotta say I love the Getsuga Jujisho; in English it’s “Cross-shaped Heaven Piercer” if I remember correctly. His Getsuga Tensho has always been shown as a powerful technique, but Jujisho really SOUNDS like its a powerful wave of destruction. Lastly, what happened to Yachiru huh? 🤔 She was standing right there when Kenpachi called out his Shikai, she was staring quietly right up at him, then they showed the flashback, and now in this episode she’s a ghost, well literally a ghost since they’re all spirits, raptured right out of her clothes. Where could she have gone🤔and what could’ve happened I wonder

That’s fair, personally had no issues with 23 or this cour overall that I believe is better than most people give it credit for but the next episode in particular had a lot of issues, at least behind the scenes, and I mean technically so did this one but there’s so much happening that it makes up for it.

#sundayrundown (Bleach) So Liltotto (The little blonde Quincy) was actually the only Quincy who wasn't scared of Gremmy's power and she also was the only one to approach him after he was released from his special prison right before the current invasion started. Also the in the manga, a lot of the Quincy's were freaked out about Gremmy's meteor but they cut that scene for time I guess 😞.

[Tidbits] - Scenes from the manga are removed where Shinji explains the Importance of Kenpachi and why he must be saved, better expressing the reason why the Bambis waited to ambush Him after Gremmy. They believe that killing Kenpachi will turn the tide of the War. - We see that Yachiru has seemingly vanished from her Shihakusho, mixing that information with what we saw last week (Yachiru flashback before revealing the name of his Zanpaktou)... should raise some questions. - The Bambi's or Female Quincy group Schrofts are as follows: Liltotto is "G the Glutton" Meninas is "P the Power" Giselle is "Z the Zombie" Candice is "T the Thunderbolt" - We now know at least 3 of the Special War Threats: Ichigo, Aizen, and Kenpachi. They also seem to have a number in terms of Importance because Liltotto says that Ichigo is the #1 Special War Threat. - Powerscaling-wise, we must never forget that in Bleach (aside from special circumstances) you need to have spiritual pressure on par with your target, otherwise you can't even damage them. Ichigo has leveled up, and Uryu was capable of damaging him, which says a lot about how capable Uryu must be. - (Sidenote) The Fandom was slightly divided with the last two episodes in terms of pacing when this was airing, likely because both episodes adapt around 8 chapters of content per episode, whereas Bleach episodes tend to cover about 4 per episode, which means content gets cut, sometimes for better or worse. (Though it must be mentioned that this also means they are gearing up for tons of new and original content within the later Cours) - This episode reportedly had some production issues, so there were many cuts (scenes) that were planned that they didn't get to do, which is unfortunate.

Son is the last name and Goku is the first name. I remember hearing in old DBZ in japanesse Picollo refer to Goku as Son. Son Goku's name is a reference to Sun Wukong from the story Journey to the West. Also, in the japanesse anime all of Ichigo's friend's call him Kurosaki, Ichigo call's Orihime "Inoue". Chad is just a nickname, but Ichigo calls him Chad, but other characters refer to him by his last name Sado kun. Also, Ichigo is known for not using honorifics when talking to people, which comes as disrespectful. There is a scene in the anime at the end of Soul Society Byakuya is concern by Ichigo calling him by his first name, instead of just calling him Kuchiki.

One of my favorite reinvented fights. In the manga, the fight with the Femritters was pretty short. The anime power girl fight never happened, and their Vollständig never had these forms. They were just basic wings. They were punched and then Candice did her electrocution and that was the end. The anime really expanded the Ichigo v Femritters fight with the transformations and providing names for their Vollstandig forms are. Weirdly, the Femritters intros took away the reveal of their schrift letters and meanings. Please see below. Candice Catnipp – T The Thunderbolt. Vollstandig Barbarriel “Thunder of God” Liltotto Lamperd – G The Glutton. Vollstandig Gagael “Hunger of God” Meninas McAllon – P The Power. Vollstandig Ponipora “Power of God” Giselle Gewelle – Z The Zombie. Vollstandig Azhalbiora “Death of God” We had a few others with named As Nodt Vollstandig Tatar Foras "Fear of God” Robert Accutrone Vollstandig Grimaniel "Footsteps of God" for his speed as he speed blitzed Ichigo and Kyoraku Quilge Opie Vollstandig Piskiel "Justice of God" We can see the naming convention is a reference to the power Yhwach has given them. He is their god and each of their Vollstandigs is their gift from him. With the expansion of their fight, we see how terrifying the Femritters can be. They expanded their move set beyond arrows and just their Schrifts power. It also let us get more of a taste of their personality, especially for Meninas who was pretty nonexistent in the manga. It also gave Ichigo more of a show of his strength because he arrived, knocked those girls away and then did nothing for most of the manga, I love the correction Kubo is doing so we can see his true vision. In regards to Liltotto, her voice actor gets her mannerisms completely down. She sounds just as good to the sub actor, both with that same nonchalant attitude. And since I know you guys have finished cour 2 I suggest reviewing some of those Giselle scenes from Marching out the Zombies and the Finale in sub. Her dub actor sadly doesn’t get her personality down in my opinion.

Ichigo, and Uryuu refer to eachother as Kurosaki and Ishida respectively. Culturally you only address people by first name if you're close friends, family, or (you at least think) your status is so high it doesn't matter how rude you are. Writing wise this is done because both are the types of characters who would NEVER admit to being friends, but in English this doesn't come across nearly as much for Ichigo as it does for Uryuu. Although it may be more accurate to say Uryuu would never admit it, and would Ichigo would just play along at the surface level and be utterly surprised when things aren't mutual or even what he thought they were. Typical shounen protag stuff XD.

#SundayRundown In CFYOW, Liltotto was the only Sternritter who had sorta a close relationship with Gremmy while everyone else was too afraid to approach him. During their conversations, he would imagine her snacks to munch on. Gremmy said that he would want to try cooking after the war is done, because it’ll be entertaining to try coming up with somethjng he couldn’t imagine after trying different food. When released from his imprisonment, he asked her how she’ll repay him for all the food he imagines,she told him, "When we start our thing with the Soul Reapers, if I see somebody you haven't been able to kill, I'll try hitting them while they're down." And that’s exactly what she and the other girls did to Kenpachi.
