Tbf, Black Panther’s suit can only redirect the energy as concussive or sonic blasts. Bishop can absorb and turn the energy into any other kind of energy. Like electricity, concussive force , heat etc.

And random fact.: Telepathic/ Telekinetic weapons like the claws Jean made this episode are a signature skill of Psylocke and Quentin Quire (the pink haired boy, also Omega level with Jean’s power set). In the comics it was Psylocke who taught Jean how to make weapons out of her psychic abilities.

#SundayRundown: You’re mistaken Chris, Jubilee was NOT an original character for the X-Men show, she debuted in the comics in 1989 & quickly became a regular member of the comic X-Men roster by 1991 cuz she’s THAT BITCH. Also the mutant kid with a face of fire is named Chamber, he has a furnace of psionic energy constantly erupting from his chest and the first time his powers manifested he exploded his lower jaw and chest, leaving him only able to talk telepathically. All of the new class of mutant kids are from the comics and some of have really cool storylines that I hope we get to explore in future seasons.

Amazing episode didn't realize Polaris was Magnetos daughter in this show but that ending I expected it after the way he went out in Genosha because id heard he was a horseman at one point in the comics actually originally thought that drummer guy was him by the silhouette and love the detail of the cards becoming tarot cards

Step B.

If I remember right Stryker was only ever apart of weapons/military manufacturing in the movies. In the comics he’s been Reverend and President though I’m pretty sure him being assasinated as president was what started Days of Future Past but I could be misremembering

Get Navi away from the controls lol

#SundayRundown So Danger isn't just an X-Men 97 villain, she's an actual member of the X-Men in comics (A bit more recently). A bit obscure, she's usually made by Xavier incorporating She'ar technology into the danger room and accidentally giving her sentience. I have no idea if they'll bring her back in the show, but if you want to check out another version of her, she's a fighting game character in the Marvel Tokon game coming out soon.

#Sundayrundown In the original show Polaris was dating ice man when she was with the X men but they both left to live together. She then left Ice man after she felt guilty not helping mutants anymore. So she faked her death or kidnapping & joined X factor. Ice man is on his own since leaving the X men. Forge was X Factor’s leader you get hints of this in S1 of 97 there were pictures in his house of the team when Storm was there.

#SundayRundown Another banger episode and banger reaction. Time for some fun comic lore. So Lorna is such an interesting character from a comics reader perspective because she is the first new member of the X-Men from the original 60’s run, literally the first recruit after issue 1. And her first story her awakening her mutant powers and Magneto coming to reveal he’s her father and recruit her to the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Except the end of that story reveals that Magneto isn’t her father and was lying to gain her trust and powers, and also that wasn’t Magneto that was an Android pretending to be Magneto(don’t ask not even I can explain that). And so for a majority of her existence from the 60’s on Lorna wasn’t related to Magneto. However in the 2000’s, over forty years since she had been created, they finally retconned her into actually being Magneto’s daughter. Yeah. Comics are weird. Also y’all mentioned the cool X-Men bomber jackets and how dope the design is and all the cosplays y’all saw of them? Well you can’t thank the comics goats Grant Morrison and his friend Frank Quietly who created the designs for their 2001 New X-Men comic run. They are also, most likely not coincidentally, the people that wrote the story the massacre of Genosha in the show was based on. Oh! And I almost forgot. Y’all were a bit confused about Reverend Striker being a reverend and not a military guy, Striker being a soldier is a creation of the Fox X-Men movies. In the original graphic novel he appears in, God Loves Man Kills which is just a must read, he’s just a televangelist that gains political and social power through anti-mutant sermons. So him being a religious terrorist is kind of a fusion of the two ideas.
