The serialization was fairly soft to begin with. They dipped their toes in the water with Season 18 before diving in.

There was barely any continuity before this season and as someone who also jumped around and watched a lot of SP non-chronologically, I have no idea when Butters burned the gym down lmao. I've seen NO lead-in for that. I'm also a little offended at all the people claiming the Imagination Land trilogy are Butters best episodes when we all know it's season 12 episode 4 "Canada on Strike".

You didn't miss anything. The butters thing happens off screen between 18x01 and 18x02. EDIT: yall may want to rewatch your reaction to 18x03, it's not much but there's a few small jokes that reference 18x02
