I like that T'Lyn continues to be the vulcan equivalent to impulsive. Just to confirm, the only reference in the show to the crossover was indeed that "Pike" line you mentioned. The BNW episode is a lot of fun, but not essential.

Captain Chris Dorn

Welcome to Season 4. My favorite season for so many reasons, especially because of episode 2. Let's just say it's going to be cute..................and dangerous 🥰😬😱

Paul T Hewes

-Next episode...Moopsie... -I loved that T'Lyn and Ma'ah, both of which were in the "Lower Decks" episode, both had some stuff to start this season.

Paul T Hewes

it was indeed a lot of fun. Especially since it was directed by Jonathan Frakes...And while some people dont like BNW, I think its second to Lower Decks as the best recent Trek show.

Alex Bennett

So the VOY episodes mentioned directly are from what I can tell. Learning Curve the cheese. Threshold the lizard thing that Paris and Janeway turned into. The Thaw the killer clown. Macrocosm the giant virus. Bride of Chaotica! 30’s style super villain. Fair Haven and its sequel Spirit Folk Janeway‘s Irish hologram boyfriend.

Travis Boyle

As a Voyager fan this episode was a real treat. And the return of Ma'ah and T'Lyn from season 2 is also great. The one sentence about Pike is really the only reference to Strange New Worlds crossover episode. Actually when I rewatched it recently a few scenes in the episode are more touching if you have seen the previous SNW episodes. Maybe SNW could be an eventual watch along. Only 20 episodes right now. And season 3 comes out in the summer

Mike Connaghan

The show is not entirely undark. And yet. A lot less traumatic to watch than some shows I could name (Sesame Street).

Mike Connaghan

It's possible Sesame Street is not the show I'm thinking of.

Ashtara Levin

Kat - the Koala is in the Star Trek Insignia logo that players before the "CBS studios.." credit NOT IN THE TITLE SEQUANCE!

Makhiel

The start has maybe too many Voyager references per minute but the episode delivers. I really like Lower Decks taking concepts from other shows and putting their own spin on it. Plus it's nice to hear the Voyager theme again.

Nic Fontaine

Season 4 is probably my favorite season. I can't wait for them to get to the finale. So good.

Robert Carson

I love that Mariner is just as geeky as Boimler. This is also how you write a man and woman as friends with no romantic undertones. They are lifetime friends.

Stephen Morris

If your watching on paramount+ there is a pre intro that has the Cerritos flying around making the Star Trek emblem and in that pre intro the Koala can be seen.

tal goren

there is something I don't understand. at the titan, Boimler already was a lieutenant, so why was he demoted when he got reassigned? it's not like he screwed up, he saved a bunch of people when he got transporter cloned. seems like at the very least they could have let him keep the rank.

rocketdave

Yeah, that never made sense to me either, tbh.

rocketdave

Janeway's decision to murder Tuvix is one of her more controversial actions. It would take too long to explain all the Easter eggs in this episode, but Holodeck character Michael Sullivan lamenting the loss of his wife is a funny but dark reference to the fact that when Janeway developed an attraction to him, she deleted his wife from his program, which just further goes to show how ruthless she could be.

John

If memory serves Starfleet didn't want them both on the same ship. So they had the option of one of them going back to the open position on the Cerritos and one staying on the Titan.

Vivica the witch

I love that Jack is pulling a "Your trying to fail and I'm not gonna let you."

MARK F JENKINS

^^^^ It's visible in the DVD and was in the original Paramount/CBS streaming-- maybe not now? It's the common "woosh-around" that both LDS and SNW do before the CBS Studios card, but only LDS has the Koala.

MARK F JENKINS

Apologies if mentioned already, but "T'Lyn" began as a cosplay persona for producer/writer Katherine Lyn, which then got written into "Wej duj" ("Three Ships") as the 'Vulcan Mariner.' Gabrielle Ruiz voices her and totally nails the deadpan Vulcan delivery. Look for much more T'Lyn in episodes to come! :)

tal goren

why were those the only options? was there really no place in star fleet for a good lieutenant? seems like bad HR management.

Paul T Hewes

Ransom was right with what he said about Janeway being hard...

Lizbeth Marcs

Nope. Still visible on the streaming episodes on Paramount+. I think they now have the Star Trek Insignia in front of all their newer series using the flagship from that show.

Lizbeth Marcs

Season 4! My favorite season! It's got a great through-line! Plus, the competence of these working class heroes really get to shine this season. Part of it is because our Lower Deckers are interacting more with the bridge crew, so you get to see more sides to everyone. Part of it is because our little lower deckers are growing up!

Hell3Quin

You need to watch the cross over ep SOONER rather than later. While it does try to not give stuff away there is a reference to T'endi that is funnier/interesting BEFORE you find out. SOONER!!!
