Happy that you're starting this! I was pleasantly surprised by how wholesome and lovely this show is in comparison to GoT and HotD. I felt like I was watching a live action anime like Frieren or Dungeon Meshi ! Duncan is live action Laios!

Great reaction! So happy that you're watching this. 😊 - The first scene causes a lot misunderstandings and makes a lot of people dislike Ser Arlan. First of all, beating children was considered completely normal in medieval times. I'm not condoning this of course, but a lot of reactors seem to think Arlan was a horrible or even evil person because of that, when in reality this was just how kids were raised back then. Secondly, Dunk was absolutely NOT being sarcastic about "You only beat me when I deserved it". In one of the quick flashbacks he's covered in mud (perhaps he's been mud-wrestling or just fighting in general), in another one he seems to have caused a huge fire. He even mentions the one time he did not deserve it. - As much as I like House of the Dragon, I hated that they lazily reused the song from Game of Thrones. It's a great song, but it belongs to GoT, the Targaryens deserved their own intro song, imo. So I was actually very happy they didn't use the GoT song for the third time here. - Dunk talking to his horse is the show's clever way of letting us hear his internal monologues from the books. - I think you might have missed the apple puns from the Fossoways. Their sigil is a red apple, and they love making apple-related puns. ("I may not be RIPE yet, but my cousin is rotten to the CORE. Knock the SEEDS out of him.")

Fair enough. It just felt a bit lazy to me, and I'm sure Ramin Djawadi could have come up with another great theme song. Just my opinion though.

agreed, they could have created a brand new badass HotD theme for the opening. I wouldnt call it lazy so much as strategic. There's no lack of talent there. I'm guessing they just wanted the familiarity and the branding to be cohesive. The GoT theme is obviously great and nostalgic but I disagree w/ the question of 'what were they supposed to use?' as if spinoffs and sister shows all use the same opening theme.

I miss HotD so much , I didn’t know if I was going to like this show but I got attached to Duncan and egg pretty quick. Episode 3 had me in shock tho. Can’t wait for charmed later. 😊

OMG... I didn't realize just how much I've missed watching Sofie reacting to Westeros. This is going to be soooo good!

They literally used the GOT song here in an episode. Is the theme for the westerns world. Not the targaryen
