Charlene

If you had no restrictions or restraints, where would you like to excavate at Sutton Hoo? 🙂

Lou Charlton

Can’t wait…travelling now 🤩

Neil

will be great :)

Katrina Copping

Question will you be coming back to Sutton Hoo. Kat trench 1 x

Angela Parker

Apart from Sutton Hoo, which site would you like TT to return to

Carol

The excavation of the base of the Bromeswell Bucket last year uncovered a small amount of human bone. Is it possible that the original uncovering of the bucket by the plow might have dispersed additional cremation remains?

Neil

That was great!!

Patricia Amero

That was excellent! A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. 😍

Peter Lee

That was awesome! I particularly liked the bit where Tony failed! Time Team, you guys really rock!

William Kirkman

I was there, I came, I saw, I loved seeing Sir Tony. An honour and privilege after a childhood into adulthood of Sir Tony on TV. And still watching all the Time Team episodes I can to this day :)

N Hansen

The bucket got there in a ship... and I'm thinking, well, it's not old enough for someone to have walked it there. LOL

Rebecca Ford

Well done to all the time team involved in the dig and the national trust volunteers, etc. I've learnt so much and enjoyed following the progress on site. Everyone of you have been so personable, chatty and fun. (From the lady with the hat and the golden ink). ✨️

After spending a good few days at Sutton Hoo last week, walking the land with my trusty Greyhound, chatting with the team who gave their precious time so freely (it dawned on me whilst journeying home that these people were working and on a tight schedule but still! So friendly and personable), I felt I had made a true connection with this ancient site. TT, NT, FAS and everybody in between… this has been a monumental task, but collectively you made it happen for all of us to enjoy. Hats off to the lot of you!!

Wessex-Wyvern

Can I just throw another thought spannerinto the works with regards to the bucket: could the bones have been cremated a long time before being buried? ...and perhaps kept in a bag and treasured until a suitable receptacle was obtained...?

Martin Young

Had to have a second viewing 😁 joining Patreon has been one of the best things I’ve done this last year! And a big thumbs up to Naomi’s new merchandise line… “Eat, Sleep, Float, Repeat”… yes, Naomi!! 🙌😁

DIANA R NELSON

Fantastic. Can't wait to see the full documentaries. Thank you so much for sharing your progress over the past weeks.

Leanne

Great to see Gus again! I wondered if he were about.

Houston Huggins

The Turkdean archaeological site, formally known as the Turkdean Roman Villa.

For those who don't know the origin of this site's name. The first part of the name, "Sutton," is also of Old English origin. "Sut" translates to "south," and "tun" refers to a "farmstead" or "settlement." Therefore, "Sutton" signifies a "southern farmstead." The term "Hoo" in its name directly translates to a "heel" or a "spur of land." When combined, "Sutton Hoo" paints a picture of the "southern farmstead on the spur of land."

All I can think is how tired everyone looks, you all work so damn hard and I hope in 2000 years people will be just as compassionate when digging up our cell phones!!

Lorna Dryden

Tony always a performer 😅😅

Lorna Dryden

I want to see Helen and her hubby’s wedding pictures!! He is stunning 🤩

Eggs Ackley

My main intrigue remains with the boat/not-a-boat/dry dock or whatever it turns out to be down by the river. ????

Martin Young

I thought the exact same! Here’s hoping he’ll be back on future programmes 👍

Peter Horsam

Re. the bucket. The bucket could be later than the bones? ie, the ancestor's cremated remains (some) had been kept, presumable in a bag and then buried a few generations later?

Wendy Greene

Congrats on becoming a Dad, Lawrence

Barry Jones

Dose any know what has happened to Phill Harding. I must have missed the part of the shows that covered this.

Amethyst Gray

Well, just returned from an epic fangirl session meeting the team at Sutton Hoo today. An 8 hour drive in total from Wiltshire to Suffolk. But well worth it to speak to Helen, Jackie, Naomi and Dani plus see Sir Tony as well as meet some of the production staff, visit the dome and witness some filming. There's going to be an awesome finale to the 2025 episodes for sure! But if you think you have missed the team at Sutton Hoo you still have a chance tomorrow as the last minute items have added an extra day for some or all of the team. Lovely to meet and befriend other patreons IRL.

Amethyst Gray

I asked Jackie and she said he has been there and done it all so he no longer has an interest in doing more of the same even with flint, sadly. He still does work locally for Wessex Archaeology local to Salisbury. He is in his mid 70s now and has been digging over 50+ years so I expect his back is knackered too. I would love to see him too but it seems highly unlikely unless the dig were on his doorstep with amazing neolithic finds!

Amethyst Gray

Sir Tony does the specials. Gus does the 3 day shows.

Amethyst Gray

I loved seeing Phil but I respect his wish to stay retired from TT. Another member said the same of Phil so it's widely known and understood by them all. It didn't sound like a secret anyway.

Robin Smith

This was an informative video. The enthusiasm and excitement over the dig was obvious. I can’t wait for more.

Dyana Mason

This was a lovely conversation. Thank you as always.

Donna Worley

Well organized and informative. Happy to see all the team together and equally happy to be part of the Patreon team.
