Time Team's x-crew are attempting to understand what's thought to be a Roman structure discovered on the Mapperton estate in Dorset. It's day two of the excavation and, whilst there's been progress, could it be that the team have bitten off more than they can chew? With bad weather looming do the archaeologists have the time to gather enough information to answer the questions they came to the site with? Have they found enough evidence to support their theories about what the mysterious structure could be?

Join Martyn Williams for another edition of Dig Watch. Time Team members get exclusive access to the trenches as the work continues on site.

How do you think the team are getting on? Let us know in the comments below and check back tomorrow when Derek and Lawrence themselves will sum up their time on site.

Early days look not very encouraging, but how do you start something huge?

If I had a £/€/dollar for every time someone says 'It's early days...' on a Time Team episode...😉😁

Great tempters. Congratulations to Martyn who does a fantastic job. Rain and archaeology go hand in hand in Britain. This Tasmanian understands 4 seasons in one day.
