We're a little behind... but that's because we've been busy!

Our Director, Emily, and the beloved Jackie McKinley have touched down in Orkney to begin what promises to be another fascinating chapter in our exploration of the Northern Isles.

A few days have passed since this was filmed, so we've got some catching up to do. Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing plenty of exclusive videos, behind-the-scenes moments, updates from the excavation, and all the discoveries, challenges and surprises that come with life on a dig.

Whether it's the excitement of uncovering something new, conversations with the team, or simply life on the road, we want to bring you along for the journey.

Thank you for supporting Time Team on Patreon. Your support makes it possible to tell these stories as they happen, and we'll be keeping you updated every step of the way as the excavations unfold across Orkney and the Northern Isles.

Welcome aboard. There's a lot more to come!

ATR 72 or 42? (The plane). We use them in the Channel Islands

Northern Isles is the collective name for the Shetland and Orkney Island groups. Not to be confused with the North Isles, which are the northern islands in Shetland (Yell, Unst & Fetlar).

Elsie Colin

Can’t wait! So excited!

Exciting! You really should put music credit in your videos!

NoNayNever

Thank you for linking the correct artist!

A lovely capturing of time and place, the next best thing to being there.

Hello, please find the music credit above now - thank you for your message!

NoNayNever

Thank you, I appreciate that! Although I think "songtitle" is not the correct name of that piece of music :D

This certainly sets the scene, I cannot wait. Pretty sure the Orkneys are already getting into my blood (as Jackie says). I will be in the Orkneys early August, these TT posts will be viewed multiple times before I head out. It will be so thrilling to see this in person.

Natalie Chapple

My partner comes from Orkney. I love it. Can't wait to find out more x

Michelle Cailes

I just love window views from a plane window. ❤️❤️👍🏻 Such a vista - air and ground (even in the rain). Australia is beautiful, but this is breathtaking. 😘 Sadly, these are the times when departed (& retired) TT crew are really missed. LOL - imagine Tony chasing Mick around in the mud slurry. 😂❤️❤️❤️ Great to see Jackie on deck. I have the fullest of respect to her knowledge and humour. She rocks.

The road into Stromness. Looking forward to visiting the Ness later this week.

Jenny Bell

We'll be there tomorrow.

So exciting, can't wait to see what you find. Ness of Brodgar film fascinating. (hopefully no Follies or C18th garden features!)

Artesian

Yes, it pulls you back. I'm an exploration geologist and love the remote ... Thank you.
