Would like to see a sit down interview with Dani. She's usually the one doing the interviewing, so it would be nice to hear how she got involved with Time Team in the beginning and her take on the shows return etc...

Antony Chapman

I am puzzled about who takes the decisions, eg who decides wheer to open a trench.

Antony Chapman

In the good old days it was Mick Aston. Who mis it now?

Nina Surr

My favorite interview question are "what made you decide to get into archeology" and "what was the first thing you discovered"

Mac Whatley

In the Before Times it was Tony who asked the questions, Mick who set the context and Phil who supervised the particular digging. Not sure who does that now. But I like Lawrence and Derek being our social media avatars on site. They are adding great energy!

I am curious about dealing with layers of archaeology on sites like this that seem to have multiple time periods of occupation. I know from old time team shows that sometimes one layer is recorded and lifted to see what is underneath. 1) How do you decide when it is worth it/necessary to lift that layer of archaeology? and 2) What happens when the trench is closed? Is it put back together so to speak, or are the pieces that were lifted now just finds and the dirt replaced on top of the lowest level of archaeology that was excavated? Maybe this is too specific of a question but inquiring minds want to know. :)

Hmmm - we are onto Day 2 and I haven't heard anything about any trenches being opened. The last I heard was in the second half of Day 1 and a comment was made that there was no hmmm of earth movers. Wonder what is happening?

Zoe Propper

A true multi-era episode

Trish Murphy

Anyone know if Dani & Tim are married?

Lady of the Leaves

It's great seeing Prof. Lipscomb again. I never miss her specials. She does great research and presents it in an approachable way.

Sarah Jane

Is this who I think it is Matt Clark?

Tony Franklin

Your question was answered on this thread about an hour before you asked it by Beth Ford.

Antony Chapman

Hello, Tony Franklin. Beth Ford was asking questions, which were different from mine, and did not answer mine.

Antony Chapman

Are you part of the Time Team team? If not, I am puzzled as to why you tried to answer my question. I confess to being slightly underwhelmed by this dig. I had hoped for a running commentary, albeit not telling us too much, but with a map of the site updated from time to time. Surely they could have told us how many trenches had been opened, with a hint of what might have been found and a feeling of success. It seems that Cornwall was a bit disappointing. I think the emphasis on secrecy has been overdone. Perhaps I expected too much.

The only time I've been in the grounds was when I was doing backstage for Fairport Convention's single foray away from Cropredy, in what was then their Reunion, in 1979. All I remember is the huge marquee and the chaps playing.

Cassista

Absolutely. She does a grand job of making the people of the past feel relatable. It is better lately, not seeing her have to doll up so much just to get her point across.
