We're joined by Prof Suzannah Lipscomb on set today who will be exploring the history of Broughton Castle & Estate, a stone's throw from the main dig site, and sharing this as part of the final shows. More from her and the Time Team Castle crew very soon!

In the mean time, here are a few photos from behind-the-scenes at this incredible location today!

A question . the way it seams to me there can be a spade put un the ground with out comming with a bite of history

Sonia Hamilton

Was Broughton Castle used in Poldark?

Zoe Propper

Looks amazing. Would love to know if there is any evidence of anglo-saxon/early medieval on the site as we have Iron Age, Roman and Broughton Castle.

Mark Freestone

Perfect setting for a Time Team Murder mystery! It was Matt in the conservatory with a spade…

Simon Orchard

I realised you're only 10 miles up the road from Jeremy Clarkson's farm, watching his farming series I couldn't help wondering what archaeology might be on his farm.

Elaine P

So lovely to see such a building able to be cared for so well. It's heart breaking to see so many structures fallen to ruin. Very much looking forward to hearing the history of this beautiful castle.

Steve Mikre

Just awesome to see such architecture...

Simone Fritzen

Looking at the amazing pictures, I am wondering how the people kept warm in the winter. Wouldn´t it be possible to do a "Christmas Special" about daily life in winter?

Melissa Rybb

Can we get a video peek of inside Broughton please?

Carl Johnson

Are you sure the team is working? That looks like a really nice place to vacation. And they are really going to let you dig up that lawn?

Roseanne Edwards

Melissa - if you look at the film Three Men and a Little Lady you will see loads of it. Broughton is used for a lot of filming. It was used as Noel Edmonds' Houseparty house, Crinkly Bottom! It was also used for John Madden's film Shakespeare in Love, so you'll see some wonderful scenes from inside in that film too.

David Szacik

Show the privy please, pretty please!

Jennifer Griffin

I hope that gorgeous ceiling is discussed in the final episode. Is it purely decorative? Or did those features serve some sort of purpose?

Bron Lloyd

I’m so glad Suzie is on board!

Kay Theriault

Lovely castle/manor. I can't wait to see wat Suzie has to share about this existing stately building!

Jonathan Eisen

Gorgeous. So much to see on this site. I'm wondering, since you're not constrained by broadcast tv, what the length of these new episodes will be. It feels like they could be several hours long which would certainly make us hardcore fans happy. At the very least, no reason to keep them at the old 48 minute length. This way of doing it gives you the luxury of including things that previously may have been cut for time.

Melinda Nagy

I seem to recall other episodes at this castle…but the pictures inside are stunning
