The Delta Flyers is a weekly Star Trek: Voyager rewatch and recap podcast hosted by Garrett Wang and Robert Duncan McNeill. Each week Garrett and Robert will rewatch an episode of Voyager starting at the very beginning. This week’s episode is Rise. Garrett and Robbie recap and discuss the episode, and share their insight as series regulars. This week they are joined by Ethan Phillips and Tim Russ for a short interview about their thoughts and experiences while filming Rise.

Rise:
When a Nezu planet is hit by asteroids, Voyager intervenes by sending Tuvok and Neelix to help with the rescue mission.

So nice to hear from Tim Russ and Ethan Phillips!!!

Richard Stone

So funny to hear you trying to remember Robert Scheerer because you had the exact same conversation when you reviewed his last episode 🤣

Luke Ciancio

I think the restriction on Space Elevators (the mag lev carriage tech) is that we currently don't have materials with a high enough tensile strength to go that high with all the forces involved.

Justin

“And whose fault is that?” “Umm the writers?” Love it.

Marian Bieniek

I love it at the end when Garrett and Robbie "become" Harry and Tom! I look forward to that especially every week!

Ethan Everett

I have the entire voyager series on DVD and in a special feature interview the writer for threshold said his idea for the episode is what would happen if humans had de-evolution.

Elisabeth Westner

Is this the episode where Robbie talks about moving to Utah and how great it is there? I had to listen to it a couple of weeks late because I was....on vacation in Utah!!! I LOVE it there! Went to Bryce for the first time and Zion for the first time I could remember. Man, I'm so jealous you live there, Robbie, even if you're in an entirely different part of the state.

Len

This was a terrific Tuvok/Neelix episode

Elias Nordling

The "only on models" part tipped me off tvat this was a hommage ro tve movie "Flight of the Phoenix".

Agreed, as someone who LOVES all the different series (well, I like Ent, don’t love it) Voyager is superior, it is definitely my favorite

(Sorry these comments get posted accidentally/prematurely) Voyager is warp particle freakasaurusally amazing . TNG is confinement beaming awesome. TOS, DA9, Disco, Picard tie for temporally great. Enterprise is good. I love how Johnny Phillips always says, “I love you guys” before he leaves. ❤️
