A very satisfying episode for P/T fans. I really enjoyed the super-long one shot during the party. *sigh*. I wish there had been a Seven/Harry relationship - eventually. Right away would have been creepy IMO. But definitely ‘yes’ eventually.

Stefan Au

what happens in an alternate timeline, stays in an alternate timeline

I gotta admit, I disagree with Robbie's do-over... while what he is proposing is a great idea if this episode was a stand-alone thing or close to the end of the series - it would ultimately backfire in the long run. Because if you play/write it that way then you get a much greater part of your audience a lot more invested in this potential relationship between the two... and then you would bum everybody out when you decide not to go that route for the characters. It would pretty much lock you in on a very specific way for both characters that comes way too quickly for one of them, given that this character joined the show only 4 episodes ago and she didn't appear in one of them.

Lee Stroud

I REALLY liked the flow at the beginning of the episode as the camera follows B’Leanna/Tom-Tom/Doctor and so on. Ended up going back to find out, for the first time in my reviewing, who the director was. This new attention to detail is thanks to our “intrepid” leaders. Fun discovering new layers of understanding

Harry to Seven: "Wait! What are you doing?!?! There are 5 million gigawatts running through there!!" LOLOLOL. Translation: five million billion watts... just running through a side panel that can be easily popped open without locks. I believe Harry was exaggerating. Besides, the term should have been VOLTS, not watts.

Sunehri_Hotaru

I like it when you guys don’t wear a hat. Makes your expressions much more visible.

Jana Christensen

I think Tom and B'elanna are scared of "I love you" is because they are friends. When you fall in love with a friend it greatly accelerates the time-line of a relationship. I didn't tell my now-husband I loved him until I was ready to commit for that reason

Stephanie Baker

As a P/T and Harry/7 shipper, I love this episode. I appreciate Robbie’s remark that Tom said Shut Up and kissed Belanna to appeal to her Klingon side. It apparently worked.

Andrew Murray

beards are forbidden in Star fleet....?. Someone should tell Commander Riker that. In "first contact Geordi also had a beard, and Data tried to grow one!

Andrew Murray

Other Dark mood eps - The Darkling, Year of Hell (I & II) and The Killing Game (I & II)

Andrew Murray

THe doctor interrupting Tom and Torres intimate moment is like when Threepio does the same thing to Han and Leia in Star Wars.

Andrew Murray

I think the Doctor giving Seven "social lessons" is on par with a blind man teaching an android how to paint.

Andrew Murray

Tom/Robbie was just doing what any worker would do - lean back feet up on their desk and enjoy their coffee break (by the way was it real coffee? Janeway could never get enough of it it seems.)

sab ewell

This is one of my favorite podcasts lol y'all had me cracking up the entire time. So much fun! The p/t fan in me was fangirling with your positive p/t love! Happy SeP/Tember!

K

This podcast has made me realize what a powerhouse Lisa Klink is. So many great episodes with great character moments!

Yvette Kuhl

Oooh Harry and Seven were SO cute together! Why couldn't we have a lot more of that?

Jon Tabb

Ken Biller actually directed two episodes of Voyager! This one, and another toward the end of this season titled "One." It's the episode where a toxic nebula forces the crew, apart from the Doctor and Seven, in stasis. I don't remember why, but the Doctor has to stay in sick bay because of the toxicity. Seven has to keep everyone alive.

Lisa Minnesma

Yeah! That was an interesting comment! I also thought it was Tom being like FINALLLLLYYYY and being eager to be with her!

Dean Makin

One is a very good episode. The Doctor gets trapped in sickbay because the radiation damages his mobile emitter.

Daniel

I like that Harry would have Taken Seven's designation for a last name haha

Karen

When Garrett said that they never ever see the Harry/7 crush again, I immediately thought that he totally forgot about the episode where the crew gets trapped in their dreams and everyone is in some kind of nightmare but Harry is making out with 7 all throughout the ship!

Sarah Thompson

Loved this one! So much fun and of course, I loved all the gushing over P/T. This is the best podcast! Thanks for always brightening my week.

Mary Burch

Loved R&G's answer to my question! The mess hall scene comes off much differently in 2021 than it did in the '90s. Obviously, at the time they were going for "hurr durr, Harry's a dork who can't talk to women, hurr durr" but watching it now, it comes off as Harry realizing he's crossed a line and needs to back off. It's actually a nice bit of growth.

Stephanie

I noticed in the later seasons the Doctor always has a little bit of an antagonistic attitude towards B'Elanna and often makes stereotypical comments about her Klingon heritage. I often wondered why the writers would him "racist" or if they didn't even realize they were doing that.

Stephanie

Also, not 100% but I don't think Tom ever tells B'Elanna he loves her. In this case actions have to speak louder than words.

Stephanie

I think the writers missed out on the better 7 relationships by focusing on the Captain and the Dr. Janeway I can see because it is a bit of a project for her, but the Dr as a seemingly older man just comes across as kind of creepy. I think relationship with Harry and B'ellana would have come across as more natural.

Heather Irwin

Any other Stormlight Archive fans here? I was thinking about the Thaylen during the opening grooming segment of this episode.

Christopher Collins

I never realized that the Chakotay and Harry Kim scene where Kim gets worried that 7 of 9 might have said something and was shot at a later time.

Christopher Collins

I never made the connection till you mentioned it in this video that Harry Kim was making a official log about relationship he was making with 7 of 9 rather than a personal log.

Christopher Collins

I wish that Voyager had explored 7 of 9 with Harry Kim in a dating relationship longer than this episode. I felt like that relationship stopped to quickly. I also feel like Harry pushed 7 of 9 too much away after this episode, especially seen in the episode The Omega Directive.

Christopher Collins

I like that you brought up why is Torris eating food from a mysterious hologram. That had me wondering too if the hologram had put something in the food.

Christopher Collins

I always thought The Doctor was going to side with the other hologram too in this episode or thought The EMH’s hologram program would be rewritten into the alien ships computer and find his program be corrupted the same way as the other hologram.

Christopher Collins

I feel like there are so many losers in this episode such as the alien crew that got Eliminated by their own haologram, obviously the guest star because he was such a good hologram and could work well with Badgy in Lower Decks. Plus the alien species lost a ship that never got returned back to the alien species.

Christopher Collins

I never knew the crew through around Tape marks at the end of their shots on set. It makes sense as a thing.

Scott Martens

A very interesting episode. I loved the horror movie vibes from it. The doctor has some great moments I this episode.

Ben

LOL who wants to tell Robbie that Tom only says he loves B'Elanna ONCE over the rest of the series, and it's not even directly to her! It's in answer to a question from someone else...

B obrien

The reason B’Elanna was glowing was because the actress was pregnant.

Christinaof9

LOVE this episode it is the perfect mixture of comedy and horror! I have always thought Seven was just innocent about what happened with Harry she wasn’t evolving in her humanity quickly at all LOL she was only going by what she knew as a Borg about humans and sexuality. Emotionally and mentally she was a child even though she’s an adult and as her story progresses she goes into her adolescent phase so it tracks. That scene was hilarious and cracked me up as a teenager and still does and always wanted to ask Garrett if people gave him the business about turning down Jeri Ryan LOL and I guess they did! 😂 But though he was scared to death, Harry also did the honorable thing as she wasn’t ready and didn’t know what she was really doing. I’m glad they pointed that out in the questions!

Moonglade

This episode always freaks me out, but I love watching it from behind a cushion. I always laugh affectionately at the Harry & Seven scenes and finally a P/T kiss. Yay! Favourite scene in this episode for me is where we're actually allowed to see Chakotay's twisted sense of humour - first mentioned by B'Elana in 'Parallax'. I love Chakotay's huge grin when Harry leaves the scene where he's said that he's done working on Astrometrics with Seven and he wants another project. Chakotay's grin says he knows exactly why Harry wants out, but as First Officer he's going to keep them working together to mess with Harry's head :D

Holly Smith

I have to say that this is one of my favorite podcast episodes.

Holly Smith

Also, Rebecca, I need that Tom cartoon as a sticker in my life. For, you know, research purposes...or something...

Tashicat

Watched this again tonight and Robbie is right, the Isomorph's name is Dejaren

Holly Smith

"Coocoo for Cocoa Puffs"...I identify greatly with this.

Joseph Zodda

Always enjoyed this episode. I remember back in the 90s my college buddies and I would joke around how stupid Harry was to turn down Seven of Nine. Got some good laughs out of that. I also remember at a convention in the early 2000s Picardo brought out a huge cardboard cutout of Jeri Ryan on stage and we all got some good laughs at Harry Kim's expense! Good memories.

ST Fan CB

Did not find an Irish Spring commercial that Kate was in but here is one with her: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4_xerxO1v8 Why is the watch vid of Garrett so small whereas RDM is normal sized? Big fat ol' error in this episode. How can a holographic hand go inside of a body? There would have to be holographic projectors inside of Torres' body for this to happen. One of two things would happen. Either the holographic hand would not be able to go inside the body and would just bruise the exterior due to the force or the hand would disappear as the hologram tried to push inside. This is a continuation of all sorts of holodeck continuity errors mostly occurring on TNG. Are some things real inside the holodeck like food or snow made by replicators on the holo deck? Wesley throws snow out of the holodeck and hits Picard. Sometimes they need costumes before going in the holodeck and other times the costumes are part of the holodeck.

River Greensong

Lmao I love it, Robecca got the A, B, C, D AND E plot in that limerick 🤣🤣🤣👌👌

Seth Uricheck

This is an addendum to the Ghostbusters rule: "When someone asks you if you're a god..." "When a gorgeous ex-Borg asks if you wish to copulate, you say 'Yes!'"

Megan Moore

The doctor has been active for 3 years. I don’t think he’s become too human too fast. He’s been learning from the crew for a long time. Im surprised to hear Garrett say the doctor falling in love with seven made no sense. I think it makes perfect sense. Harry is infatuated with her. But the doctor has an ongoing friendship with seven and he helps her and teaches her. It makes perfect sense for him to fall for her and I was upset that she gets with Chakotay instead of the Doctor.

Rachelle H

Tom doesn't say I love you to B'elana but he does tell Kess after she has the baby!
