Hi everyone,

Here's the second part of the airbrushing miniseries. Should come in handy as I've got a few tutorials for you this weekend that heavily feature them!

How to Mix Paint for use in an Airbrush for Warhammer, tabletop miniatures, scale models & busts.

This is the second in our short series of videos introducing airbrushing as a way of painting your miniatures. We have taught airbrushing classes to people all over the world. Using Warhammer, Bolt Action, Star Wars Legion, and our own 54mm models and busts amongst others. They are a fantastic tool to have in your painting toolkit. Below is our affiliate link, and the only place to purchase our signature series airbrushes. They ship globally. Watching your videos helped make thinning paints properly for airbrushing click. It really helped when you all specified the ratios of paint to thinner/water.

After mixing in airbrush cup for years. I find I get a lot less blockages mixing in a seperate cup. I don’t think I could ever go back now

Steven Hilton

Tamiya it is. I learned to not block the airbrush by using my palm. Instead I'll use my fingers and grasp or the needle protection cover the brush comes with. Thank you for that educational video. Question: if the tip of the needle is bent, is there a quick fix or is it worth it to buy another needle?

Rob Cass

This is great, thanks Henry. One frustrating thing I get quite a bit when mixing with back flow is paint drying on the upper insides of the cup - is there an easy way to avoid this?

Miles Cheverton

I'm not a fanboy, I swear, but everything I have ever bought from Tamiya has been amazing. Their craft knives are perfect and their expensive sprue clippers are staggeringly good :D Have a flat white and flat black to play with right now!

Do you find yourself using different thinner mixes for different paints (aside from the solvent based ones of course), ie adding flow-aid, retarder or medium to some colors or lines? Also, any tips on base coloring with Scale75 as it always goes super transparent or is it just a matter of wrong tool for the job?

Nick Thomas

Amazing video, thanks Henry. I will be getting some tamiya
