Jake and the other four Venusians didn’t need another reminder as they all got up and moved at once. They hadn’t all recovered yet after the prior fight, with especially two of the Warriors being slower than the rest of them to pick up in speed.

The Shaman pushed his magic further as a bubble appeared around all of them, giving way as they sped up significantly. Jake easily kept up, as behind them, the aura that had woken Jake up earlier grew closer. From this distance, he couldn’t tell exactly how powerful it was, but he had already determined it was still within the realm of B-grades.

“What’s pursuing us?” Jake asked, staying relatively calm, at least compared to the Shaman and other Venusians.

“Something I hoped we wouldn’t attract the attention of, but I fear our slaying of Arachnecs has been too efficient and drawn the ire of the Hive,” the Shaman said in a severe tone. “The Oracle gave me a tool to warn me if any of these creatures got within range, at which point I was meant to retreat out of Arachnec territory. However, she could not have expected we would delve this deep.”

“You still haven’t told me what’s coming,” Jake said, feeling the presence continue to draw nearer, surpassing their current flight speed several times over. While the Shaman and Jake could definitely both fly faster, Jake more than the Venusian, their other companions were already pushing themselves as things were.

“A Weaver... no... an Archweaver,” the Shaman said, making the four other Venusians shiver. “True elites of the Arachnec race. Superior variants with high intelligence that we Venusians would also have to send our elite combatants to face. As a shaman, my position may be high, but I’m not specialized in combat compared to my kin who are.”

Jake nodded, definitely seeing the severity of the situation. Their pursuer was still closing in, and at this point, they would be caught within less than ten minutes. Something the Shaman also realized as he kept urging the other Venusians to try to fly faster.

“What’s the plan?” Jake asked, already having a good idea what the answer would be.

“I... I tried to reach out to the Oracle, but I’m unsure my message is getting through from this deep into Arachnec territory, likely due to interference from the Nest,” the Shaman muttered. “If fate wills it, she will hear and respond promptly.”

So, yeah, no plan but hope the A-grade back in the Venusian village would hear them and somehow get to them within less than ten minutes. He didn’t underestimate B-grades, but they had traveled pretty fucking far into Arachnec land. Also, would the Oracle even dare enter this deep into the territory of her enemy when her primary responsibility was to defend and nurture the Lifepool?

There were a lot of unknowns that, in the end, pushed Jake to the inevitable conclusion that they were shit out of luck and would have to deal with whatever was coming their way alone.

He considered everything and saw the panicked look on the Shaman’s face again before letting out a sigh.

“Here, take this,” Jake said as he took out a small bag filled with different potions from his spatial storage. “Keep flying and make it back.”

“You...” the Shaman said after catching the bag of potions. “If necessary, we can try to-“

“Look, I’m gonna be honest, I’m faster than all of you, and I have escape skills that I doubt you have anything comparable to. Unless an A-grade comes, I’m gonna survive, alright?” Jake said with a light smile. “So go. I’ll handle this and if possible make it back to the village. If I don’t, just inform the Oracle that others will come eventually. The outside world is aware of the entrance to this place, and they will explore it.”

The Shaman looked hesitant, but Jake didn’t even give him a chance to reply before stopping his flight and turning towards the incoming creature. The Venusians slowed down a little, and Jake could see the conflicted look on the Shaman’s face before eventually speeding back up as he sent back a message that echoed in Jake’s mind.

“May the Ancestor Spirit be with you.”

Jake looked back and gave an acknowledging nod, honestly more impressed by the range of the telepathic message than anything else. Turning back towards the Horizon, Jake floated down and landed on the ground, where he sat down with his legs crossed. Even if it was only for a few minutes, Jake wanted to be in his best condition possible when he had to face this Archweaver the Shaman talked about.

He considered his approach to this encounter carefully while sitting there. For a moment, Jake had the idea of trying to mimic Villy’s presence to scare off the B-grade, but ultimately wrote off that idea. These Arachnecs weren’t big on self-preservation, so he seriously doubted scare tactics would have any effect. In fact, there was a greater chance it would lead the Archweaver to summon A-grades to deal with Jake instead.

Entering stealth and ambushing the Archweaver was certainly also an option, but probably not a good one based on the aura he felt approaching. This was a powerful variant, unlike any of the other Arachnecs Jake had faced thus far, and it was clearly a lot higher level too. Going for a fight was ill-advised if he could avoid it. He kind of wanted to still try to fight, but decided to play this one smart, especially seeing as he had to buy time for the Shaman and other Venusians to get away.

Him having to buy time was also why he couldn’t just bank on escaping right away. With Wings, he could easily get away on his own, but that would leave the Shaman and company to be hunted down and slaughtered.

That’s why he ultimately settled on trying what had worked pretty well in this Minor World thus far: talking. Did Jake think this would work after slaughtering Arachnecs for the better part of a month? Maybe. The Shaman said the Archweaver was “highly intelligent,” making Jake at least guess it could talk, which hopefully also meant it was curious upon witnessing an entirely new race the Arachnecs didn’t know about.

There were also some things giving credence to this possibly working. One of those was the mere fact that Jake could feel the full aura of the Archweaver from this far away. It was willingly emitting its full power as if trying to scare them away or at least make them aware of its presence and pursuit. Sure, it was possible the Archweaver just enjoyed inflicting dread in its victims, but Jake hoped that wasn’t the case.

Minutes passed as Jake sat there patiently. The Shaman was getting further and further away, and when the Archweaver got sufficiently close, Jake also unleashed his own aura. He held a bit back on his Bloodline, but not fully, wanting to make it clear that he was far from weak. Enough to at least make the Archweaver stop and think before just sweeping down, trying to quickly finish him off without even talking.

It didn’t take long before the pursuer was upon him, and fortunately, it had definitely noticed his presence based on how it slightly slowed down upon getting closer. Shortly after, it arrived, and once more, Jake was lucky it didn’t attack immediately.

The creature stopped abruptly about a kilometer above Jake as it stared down at him from above. Jake looked back and saw an Arachnec unlike any of the others so far. Its body was fully white, as if made of bone, and its form was incredibly humanoid, with two legs, arms, a torso, and something that somewhat resembled a head. Though that was where it wasn’t entirely humanoid. The head was simply a blank white rectangular slate with eight glowing red eyes, four in parallel on each side. It couldn’t even qualify as a face in Jake’s opinion, though the eyes most certainly worked as Jake felt all eight lock on him.

Besides this, there were other features that made it distinctly spider-like. From its back sprouted eight leg-like appendages that all hummed with magic as if ready to unleash spells at any moment. Faint web-like strings connected the legs that grew from its back, making it look like the Archweaver had a spiderweb floating behind it.

Finally, as the two stared at each other, Jake used Identify as he also felt the Arachnec use the same skill on him.

[Arachnec Archweaver – lvl 475]

Seeing this level and enduring the aura of the B-grade... yeah, Jake wasn’t going to pick this fight. It wasn’t one where victory was even in the realm of possibility. This was a truly high-tier variant, as the Shaman had said, and its level was also far beyond anything Jake could handle, still barely being B-grade himself.

Jake had already stood up in preparation and summoned his wings, as his senses were fully primed. His danger sense was quiet for now, meaning the Archweaver wasn’t immediately going to attack as it evaluated him.

Then, suddenly, it disappeared, only to instantly reappear on the ground less than ten meters in front of Jake. He tensed up immediately as the Archweaver slightly tilted its head.

“Unknown race. Low level. Power not corresponding to level. High-level variant? Yet it provides a simple Identify result. Peculiar,” a voice echoed out from the Archweaver, the voice neither male nor female, though probably leaning more towards male. Not that he thought these undead spiders needed any such classification.

“Calling me peculiar? I don’t disagree, and will take it as a compliment,” Jake answered, his wings ready should he need to try to escape at a moment’s notice.

“And it speaks the tongue of the Arachnecs? Yet there is no knowledge of us ever having interacted with such a race before?” the Archweaver continued, and from the sounds of it, Jake had definitely sparked its curiosity.

Every moment of talking was a win as it gave the Shaman and others more time to escape, so Jake was glad to keep the conversation going all day. He had no problem being the most interesting guy the B-grade had ever met if that was what it took.

The Archweaver continued to observe Jake as its aura continued flaring out. Jake naturally wasn’t affected as he stood strong, using his own aura to slightly push back on the Arachnec’s.

After a few seconds, the B-grade looked beyond Jake and behind him as it spoke. “The Venusians continue to flee, it seems. Have they abandoned you? No... no, you chose to stay, aiming to stall me and allow their escape. A sacrifice.”

Once more, the Archweaver moved and appeared behind Jake towards the fleeing Venusians, displaying a level of speed Jake knew he wouldn’t be able to keep up with. “Eliminating them should be my first priority.”

“But you’re not going to, because you know that if you chase after them, I’m gonna be gone by the time you’re back,” Jake said.

“I said it should be my first priority,” the Arachnec said, turning back towards Jake and looking at him with its glowing eyes. “It no longer is. The directive has changed.”

The Arachnec slowly started floating towards Jake as it continued speaking. “You’re no Venusian, and as an unknown race, your kin is no recorded associate of the Venusians. So tell me, why are you assisting them in so daringly venturing into our domain and slaying our kin?”

“You got it backwards,” Jake shook his head. “They were helping me to slay your kin.”

“Curious,” the Arachnec said, its voice still empty of any emotion. “To achieve what goal?”

“Levels,” Jake said, thinking that in situations like this, honesty was probably fine, even if he should definitely be pissing the spider monster off with his words. Something he didn’t seem to be, for some weird reason.

“Honing yourself by slaying my kin?” the Archweaver asked rhetorically. “I see. And the Venusians chose to assist you in this endeavour, with even one of their Shamans accompanying you? Ah... I understand.”

The Archweaver disappeared yet again and appeared right in front of Jake, towering over him with its more than four meters of height. Jake was ready to move at any moment, as the creature was just a couple of meters away, leaning down, its eight eyes staring directly at Jake.

“You’re from beyond the Boundary.”

It was no speculation, no question. Just a statement of fact.

Jake wasn’t sure what to say as the Archweaver floated back a bit and did something surprising. It lifted one of its hands and put it to its chest before bowing towards Jake. “I welcome you to our world, envoy from beyond the Boundary. Your arrival was predestined, yet we had not seen it be under such circumstances.”

At this point, Jake didn’t think he would get far trying to argue he was a native of this place, as he let out a sigh.

“Was it that obvious?”

“You’re an unknown race, the Venusians value you disproportionately, and you can communicate with both my kin and the Venusians. What’s more, you do not carry the same touch that permeates this world,” the Arachnec kindly explained how it had so easily sussed him out.

“I see,” Jake nodded. “But doesn’t this leave you at an impasse? I’ve killed quite a few of your kin and am clearly friendly with the Venusians, the sworn enemies of your race.”

“Inconsequential,” the Archweaver shut that down immediately. “You have slain soldiers, not nobles. They are easily replaceable and nothing more than fodder to feed our expansion. Their deaths are expected. Your relationship with the Venusians is more complicated, but nothing that cannot be overcome. Have you sworn allegiance to them? No, no, I do not sense their pungent touch upon your soul. Allies, they might be in your heart, but so be it. We shall simply not ask you to do anything to bring them harm, which would never be your role in the first place.”

The entire vibe of this confrontation had undergone a rapid shift as the Arachnec not only spoke far more words, with a less intimidating presence, but even seemed to have decided they were now going to work together.

Jake was really unsure if he liked this progression, and it didn’t get better when the Arachnec spoke again.

“I shall allow the Venusians to escape as a courtesy, and in return, I ask that you accompany me back to the Nest,” the Archweaver said, sounding polite, but Jake really didn’t get the vibe that this was something he could refuse.

“What if I had other plans?” Jake asked, wanting to at least see how far these Arachnecs would go. With the combination of Wings and Moment, he remained confident in escaping from this situation despite the overwhelming disparity in power.

“I ask that you delay them,” the Archweaver said in a firm tone. “Do not make this difficult for both of us. Our intent is to treat you like a guest, not a prisoner, but not following me back would be an unacceptable outcome.”

Jake frowned as it definitely sounded like they were trying to take him prisoner right now, making him unconsciously flare his aura, eliciting a small response from the Arachnec.

“You believe that you can escape me. I’m unable to gauge your true capabilities, so I won’t rule it out as a possibility. But there is no need to try. We do not intend to treat you like an enemy. If we wish to go beyond the Boundary with your help, the inevitable conclusion will be you leaving this world. You may be temporarily inconvenienced, but we shall strive to make up for any slights and compensate you duly.”

The Archweaver seemed sincere in its words, and Jake considered the situation before eventually just nodding, apparently now about to be a “guest” of the undead spiders he’d spent the last month killing.

He had no idea what the situation would lead to, and worst case, he could drag out time and teleport to the Seat of the Exalted Prima in about two months. Either way, one thing was for sure... this entire diplomatic mission in Venus had turned into an incredibly messy situation real quick.

Eh i think theyr cool, maybe this turns around and jake becomes best friends with them!

Ben Cox

I will be shocked if jake doesn't also become friends with the arachnecs with tips on how to properly run a death domain brought straight from the multiverse. As Miranda has said before what he doesn't kill he makes friends with, sometimes he even becomes friends with people he has already killed in the case of the GFK. Tyftc

Gracie

tftc 🕷

Rick Delallata

Huh, welp, guess this means Jake is going to be friends with everyone in this Minor World

John Burton

I get the feeling that time in this Minor World is incredibly slowed compared to the multiverse

William WIlson

Im curious if these guys are part of the endless empire or want to be part. Im seriously wondering if there is some true royal hidden here.

Accio123

Miranda is either going to very proud of Jake when this is said and done, or have a huge headache. Probably both

khielira

Given Jake track record that entirely possible

David

Ha! High B grade! Called it!!

Cinaeda

nice twist. rather curious where this will lead to. cool chapter, thank you

Samuel Nelson

I said the same when this arc began. Not likely, though, going by how Jake just mentioned getting pulled in about two months.

CJ King

Thank you for the chapter

Comeback Kid

There is definitely some timey whimey nonsense going on.

Mace1918

I think Jake forgot about his honorary true royal pin from vespie! TFTC

Suzanne Pearson

Yeah, but if there is a time dilation going on, Jake probably wouldn’t notice it until he got back to the outside world. Villy would probably keep it a secret as a grand joke…..

definitelynotbrjenness

Jake could be wrong...but doesn't he have enough time ...uh...sensitivity to know when it is being dilated or puckered?

definitelynotbrjenness

I think the endless empire might declare holy war the second they find out about the arachnecs, expansionist, natural enemy, undead. Did you know spiders eat a larger weight in bugs and stuff every year than what the entire human population of earth weighs? I find that disturbing.

Catrina

I know that that spiders usually paralyze their prey so they don't struggle when draining blood. If they take that further, they might also somehow insidiously convince prey to stay on their own and view them favoritely.

Jerry Wieder

Friendly spider undead? Twist

definitelynotbrjenness

Yes. I would have expected Jake to notice and mention, but the timing of Miranda's start made me think it is moving twice as fast in venus. 15 days VS 30 days. So Jake has 200 venusian days in total.

djthomp

Well at least the real Arachnecs are less gross looking than the footsoldiers, this one is just kind of odd.

D

Seems like he is being a pretty good administrator

D

I pictured Kaiju #9 as this Arachnec.

BumAssBumAss

Jake needs a Miranda right about now. Man was expecting epic fight, but got diplomacy instead.

NoctisMi

Do we know which level cap B-Grade has? Can't be 500, that would be only 150lv again, 550 sounds odd, so 600? Then 475 would be mid B-Grade ?

Michael Fannon

Odds that these are some mutant lost type of race of the endless empire that became undead, potentially forging an alliance with the risen?

Vega

Jake trying to pull aggro, but Arachnec counters it with Diplomacy! For real though, it would be interesting if the Arachnec turned out not to be an enemy either, but also a potential ally. Potential Blight initiates?

Staudi

Tyftc in my opinion the venus arc is getting more interesting chapter by chapter

ButterflEye

Why do I want Jake to make a set of origin friends from each faction and unify them somehow

Cory S.

Jake is always making the strangest acquaintances.

Jeroen Turkstra

I believe B is till 500 with A&S 250 each. Ending at 1000. At least I saw someone mention it somewhere.

Breaking News Big Spider exposed. Alien spider people have been invading our planet and living amongst us since the 70's. Great green globs was propaganda. Protein shakes and meals in a blender created to hide their unusual eating habits. Details in our exclusive report at 11.

definitelynotbrjenness

Great green globs of mutilated monkey meat. Little birdies bloody feet. French fried eyeballs floating in a cup of blood. Me without my spoon But I've got a straw. Targeted at children and specifically designed to normalize dissolving your food with venom before drinking it.

Willd

I think it is 150 again for b grade and a grade then s grade jumps to 200 but could be wrong on that. Feel like it’s been talked about in the past 100 chapters

Alexandre8901

New friends for the weekend, Nice! Tftc

Bluejay

Thanks for the context of the prima event timeline. With the last chapter i was partly expecting him to teleporting out because I forgot or didnt realise that the admin candidate event and his event had different timings.

Colton Horton

Friendly neighborhood spider-lich?

Colton Horton

The fungus monsters are the true evils of Venus. Jake Can unite everyone else over a shared hatred of mushrooms, with the promise of turning the fungus into useful potions.

Mitha

If this turns out to be some adminitrator test by the system, I'll order every book and merch available.

definitelynotbrjenness

that impossibly attractive person at the fitness center that you've never seen eat anything but is always drinking? yep. all beauty on the outside and 100% spider underneath. stay alert. stay alive. big spider is everywhere.

CocoaBleu

So ok, alliances unintentionally forming: *Checks notes* Venusians- Malefic Order ✅, Undeadish Spider royal family- Endless Empire? ✅ish who else will get an influx of records once Jake’s done on his mini adventure?

Tom Roe

Did not have befriending the undead spiders on my bingo card.

zran

probably there is hoping there is a elemental-ish faction, a sword-ish/blood sucking-ish faction and a plant-ish faction

zran

it was mentioned when the event did come out, the first part of the event is for candidates only, jake being a full administrator makes it what he does not need to participate in it, and he is meant to participate on the follow up part of the event what comes after

zran

eh, id say this is good for jake, he needs to hone his diplomacy skills a bit, because as he grows up on power, the more he has to weave around diplomacy to help with his own growth(access to hunting grounds outside of the malefic order for example could need a bit of diplomacy)

BB8ALREADY

they might also align with the risen empire as well and end up having to become friendly with the Venusians if they align with the Malefic Order

Christophe H.

Don't know, blight and/or endless empire... But yeah definitely a road there!

IntenseSushi

Tftc thank Villy that’s not the Friday cliff hanger

beeve

Might be similar to the deal with the b grade on the moon

DeAndrea H

I’m very curious. IIRC, the undead are kill on sight in the multiverse, correct? It will definitely be interesting to see this conflict from the other side.

beeve

How will he get the levels he wanted now?

Daymond Walford

Sooo Jake is worried about diplomacy… all I saw was PRESENTS! “Sir/Ma’am… you have inconvenienced me greatly. Gimme.”

Lemonsqueezy

They are only KOS by the Holy Church. Many other factions have no significant issues with the Risen. Many are not exactly fans of them, but are not openly hostile. With undead in general? I guess they are KOS, but I think that applies to non-sentient undead, which the Arachne are definitely sentient in a way. They are a mix of the undead and the insect faction (cannot remember the name of right now).

Lemonsqueezy

I am guessing that Jake is going to be a liaison between the two factions and somehow negotiate a peace between the two.

CocoaBleu

I thought about that, but I am not sure the bug factor will fit in to the risen… of course I could be wrong, one thing is for sure… there are definitely 2 factions that will NOT be happy to discover these spiders exist… Undead insect varients… this is definitely a set up for future conflict.

DeAndrea H

Hmm… but undead and risen are distinct. The undead miasma is the problem. I feel like we’ve been told even the risen have an issue with the undead. I guess we’ll find out!

SirbBrownFluffles

Mindless undead, it seems that way, but a faction like the Risen Empire wouldn't take something like that lying down. Doubt they'd do anything like that for this arachnec faction still trapped in a minor world though

SirbBrownFluffles

It's very reminiscent of The Endless Journey isn't it? Ah, good times. Hopefully no one tell him kill to himself this time.

Dylan Hilliard

Possible hidden quest to unite all races on the planet. It's also possible they need to unite to kill something more powerful like a top teir A grade.

Corey S

Spiders aren’t insects so I agree more with them joining the undead faction

Hornbach

I actually think the risen would take them if they agree to fight for them. Remember risen can't procreate so they need no convert other races to expand their empire. So having undead insectoids that can massively reproduce would probably be a huge boon to their faction

MarineDebris

No, the Friday cliff will be much, much worse!

MarineDebris

The Archweaver called the slaughter of his kin "inconsequential." Just a means to expand their territory. Yea, definitely Endless Empire material, right there. Let's just hope they don't try to use Jake as a stud horse with the intent of creating more powerful variants like the termite hive queen did. Then he'll definitely have to piss them off by declining. Would be so awesome if Villy told Sylphie or Vesperia where Jake was, and they showed up at the perfect time to snatch him away.

Psyck0

Can't help but think of solo leveling with the interaction between jake and the arachnee

beeve

Notice how jt said nobles? So hierarchy similar to the endless empire?

Lemonsqueezy

The Arachne are like a middle ground between the Endless Empire and the Risen. They would either be accepted by both or hated by them.

Lemonsqueezy

Is this the scenario Jake's boots were talking about. Uniting two worlds?

Abhishek

Jake could’ve taken this guy on right? He beat Valdemar and he is seriously a broken character. Where are the crazy fights at??

Rewdan

Thanks Zogarth an absolute banger of a chapter

InfernoDroid

You know what, after this chapter, I'm team undead spider people, honestly, they kinda seem more interesting than the Venuians

InfernoDroid

The undead spiders are giving massive semi AI vibes, kinda like an undead machine network and less like the ectomorphes

Jip

Isnt the endless empire specifically insects? Or (differently but) more accurately, hives with one true sapient queen and the rest being drones? There are some exceptions like the true royal guard peoples that vepsy hatched a handful of chapters ago, but thats like max 7 (excluding other queens) per true royal vs 7fuckload drones they create

Jip

Also, the risen aren’t just undead, they are risen. Sure they use undead as summons and such, but they ain’t part of the actual club are they?

Carl Never

Hes 125 levels higher it would at least take using his bloodline think his skills max out at 75

Carl Never

Im picturing so im a spider so what. But the face is wrong

Muckster

Alright, speak up. Which of yall did I catch in tiktok comments talking about these newer chapters in a completely unrelated video

Takoda Heitz

B-Grade levels are higher quality levels. Not to mention Jake only beat Valdemar because he released his bloodline and was saved by the system. He cannot do that now.

Lemonsqueezy

Spiders and Frogs, or Venus/Minor World and Earth

Bmax

Was my first thought when I ended the chapter. Set himself up for a nice cliff hanger

Josie

I mean.. if the spiders see their soldiers as disposable and Jake just wants levels.. I think there's an obvious solution to insure a favorable diplomatic relationship 🤝 🏹🕷

definitelynotbrjenness

thought i posted this earlier, but not seeing it... some force raises beasts to a grade to attack earth. jake flees to Venus. jake returns "say hello to my leetle friends." an army of a grade frogs and spiders and hippos and lions and tigers and bears charges out of Venus. 93rd universe beasts go " oh my... can we talk about this?"

ABTelford

Ha! Was not expecting that! This will be interesting! 😀

ABTelford

Boo! Poison dart frogs are awesome! Lol! 😄

definitelynotbrjenness

not when you are walking through the jungle and feel something on your hand. look down and see a frog hanging there.

Kaladin

124* Jake gained one combat level and is 351 now

Kaladin

Jake can escape from this, but could he escape from an A rank in the hive? He also has the recall totem to Earth item from the exalted prima event.

Jeroen Turkstra

@Carl Never @Kaladin I’m not sure what Jake’s race lvl at rn but it’s like ~354 bc of the profession levels right after getting to B grade.

Bookreader97

This may sound dumb but how do the frogs/acracnecs know about the system? Did they also just get integrated? Why do they even have levels/did they have them before integration?

definitelynotbrjenness

we don't know for sure. zog confirmed no time dilation, so they must have been part of the system somewhere else before being attached to venus.

Dalton Service

I think that ring takes a couple of minutes to charge up

Dalton Service

I hope that the leader is a long lost true royal 😂

Dalton Service

Wonder if he'll play triple agent again like he did in Nevermore 😂

definitelynotbrjenness

okay...voting is live on the april fools planning site. I unfortunately feel the need to clarify that even if mass requesting foot pics wins, that does not mean zog is going to actually send us any.

John Burton

The only reason I have suggested this, is that we already have Miranda in the seat of the exalted one, yet Jake is still hunting

Seen Death

I dont really think a negotiation is that necessary tbh Id view it more like a forced conflict similar to the holy empire and the risen Conflict between the two encourages growth, the main difference being this world doesnt have S grades so the upper echelons arent yet aware of the benefits of this conflict because their lives are in direct danger The frogs dont like the death domain they spread, but the undead need to spread it to encourage growth for their people Its kind of a fundamental difference... the least violent solution would be not expanding into eachothers territory But the undead might be surrounded on every side by the frogs villages... leaving them nowhere to expand but towards the frogs

Seen Death

Unironically already making his Pantheon of Primals with every jake juice success haha

Seen Death

To be honest, im not sure how else he would have been able to contact the actual sapients of the undead spiders without killing the drones... i guess maybe if he was a visiting A grade it would have been possible but why would anyone approach them trying to assist a "faction" they didnt even know anything about? Glad the spiders can put that behind them, even though it kind of tested jake by questioning why he was attacking... and the result was literally nothing personal If they were mushrooms, jake would probably have had less diplomatic success in this scenerio haha Edit: i was looking foward to jake bringing (most likely the frogs) to the event, could have made an interesting series of events But it could also throw a wrench into the plot so im just looking foward to what actually happens haha Seeming less likely hed be bringing anyone with him, which debatably suits him more Probably has to be careful about his wording to these spiders though, theyd probably like to come with him even if they cant use this method to stay outside the boundary

Seen Death

Everything in the multiverse has the system as a default: they have levels, skills etc I think this version of venus has basically replaced the "venus" we know of, but was just existing elsewhere, undiscovered Or maybe venus has been part of the system the whole time? It wouldnt be impossible they were literally trapped for millions+ years in a world that was incapable of producing something strong enough to escape its boundaries... and while unlikely... its not like we have all that much info on venus IRL, at most weve sent some satellites to take pictures or use some crude tools to notice the toxicity of its atmosphere I find it to be unlikely, but system shenanigans are absolute

Seen Death

I like spiders personally, but i think most of jakes opinions come from other people starting the issues, and then he returns the favour The spiders havnt personally wronged him, so he seems rightfully openminded imo. Its not like there arent plenty of other targets to level on in this world, so he doesnt need to oppose them I do wonder if there are dungeons here? I wouldnt be suprised, but i am unsure if dungeons can exist inside a world that is basically already a dungeon

Seen Death

Author says no haha Someone else said the difference is Miranda is a canidate, so shes going early But after that trial and they have more administrators, the already approved administrators (like jake) will then participate Seems like Jake had ~100 days before his start of the event and miranda had ~10 days for her earlier event to begin

Seen Death

That is true, but their numbers are also exponentially the quantity of humans As babies, a thousand could fit in the size of your finger And on that note, humans eat more mass than the total humans have every year... someone could easilly eat over a pound of meat a day, and weigh less than 200 pounds And thats already 1.5x your body weight a year

Fylbrom

These Arachnecs seem to be very similar to the Ectonomorphs, but they clearly aren't. It will be interesting to see how similar/different they end up being, and how their relationship with the Endless Empire progresses if at all. Venus is repeatedly giving us more possibilities for interesting/intersecting 'future arcs' and im here for it!

Fylbrom

Jake is currently 356 in race. 351 in class, and 362 in proffession.

beeve

That’s what I was thinking when they said nobles

beeve

I’m suprised he hasn’t talked to villy

should we consider the possibility that jake might miss the system event due to being in the minor world?? i mean, its been 2 chapters since miranda entered, and a few chapters ago, zog used the words, "He only had a bit over a hundred days until it was time for him to leave for the Seat of the Exalted Prima system event, which he still assumed he could enter directly from this Minor World"

Xander

The narrative has implied that the system has such "minor worlds" bubbling about all the time separated from the multiverse and slots them in where and when it sees fit. So these frogs have been living on this world, using the system, gaining levels, living and dying, for maybe millions or billions of years and the system decided to put an entrance to the world at Venus for reasons of its own.

Xander

The teleport to the prima event is provided directly by the system so nothing can stop it. When Jake gets the notification to enter the event he just say yes and boom hes gone.

TFTC :) Suggested edits: " the A-grade back in the Venusian ** would hear them" missing word "village" "Enough to at least make the Archweaver stop and think before just sweeping by *,* trying to quickly finish him off." feels like it should be "or" rather than a comma between these two statements. Otherwise I can't really make sense of what is meant. "felt all eight *locked* on him." should be "lock" present tense i think. "strings connected *all* these eight legs *that grew from its back*" the highlighted parts are unnecessary. You already said the legs were on its back and the number so saying *eight* already implies they are all connected. "value you *disproportionally*, and you" might just be the English in me but, should be "disproportionately" "kindly explained *why* it had so easily sussed him out" should be "how" "Their deaths are an expectation. " odd phrasing which doesnt fit with the rest of the AW speech "Their death is expected." seems more appropriate. "diplomatic mission *in* Venus had turned into" "In" doesnt feel right here. "On", "to", "at" maybe?

Zenthos

I think his part of the system event is after all the administrator candidates have either passed or failed.

Peter Smith

There was a theory another commenter made about them being a plant hybrid similar to the ghost vine. I like the idea that the arachnec are a parasitic plant that are using the corpses of other creatures as a host or armor. The death aspect is a side effect of their armor/hosts and not a requirement for their continued existence, which means that if Arnold finds out he may entertain himself by transforming them into a cyborg species

Eden

Tbf death spiders would fit in wrll with the order

Fylbrom

That is definitely a theory to be sure!

Blake N.

The event description specifically said that the administrators would be collected from wherever they were when it was time no matter what universe

Spencer Wilson

Im tracking, but isnt a minor world kind of like a pocket dimension not necessarily in any one universe? Or am I misunderstanding

The Moria

hmmm. for my first post here as a new member... My guess is that Jake is gonna play diplomat between the Froggies and the scary spiders, ending the spiders expansion towards the froggies, and possibly introduce them (the spider peeps) to a certain Undead friend of his and then bring our froggy friends into the order.

ABTelford

Now there’s a thought - a long lost true royal that became undead (lost in part because she’s undead) and has been trying to recreate her race but only able to make these undead things.

Zogarth

Fixed. And it is in Venus. Venus is now a Minor World, so how could it be "at" or "on"? Would be like saying Jake was "on the ninety-third universe."

Antony Briggs

I think on Venus works. Like “on the Moon” and “life on Mars”

Tanner Lannister

I think the whole reason Villy said to go ahead and go in was because he would get auto pulled out by the event. Now I could see him getting a prompt saying gather your allies in two days and he can’t bc he’s stuck in there so he has to bring frog bro and spider bro 😂

cody mccain

but Venus isn't a planet it's a small universe like world

Colin

Welcome!!!

Kevin Watson

it really must be some form of system fuckery for an entire small universe of poison manifested in the home galaxy of the quasi disciple of the premier poison user

I wonder, also, if there’s any time dilation at play here. I believe it’s been established that these minor realms can have time shenanigans? Maybe Jake will end up stuck with the spiders for longer than intended lol

Alex

Huh? I think I should reread the seat announcement. I kinda thought everyone would go through it. Totally forgot that Jake is already a full administrator

Alex

I was confused too, but im assuming the 100day trials are only for administrator candidates. Jake is already a full administrator, so maybe he doesn't have to do them.

Marrla

I hope this arc ends with Jake brokering world piece so I can draw a picture of them shaking hands with Jake in the middle like one of those awkward photos of world leaders

Marrla

As an arachnophobe, I brand thee heretic.

I cried when GFK was assassinated at the Desolate Knoll

Gh0st-Hunt3r

I could definitely See these Undead Spiders becoming part of caspers faction also having a Hidden dimension for the undead faction to have a base in would be amazing aswell i hope they get to meet plus this dimension is so fucken huge theres no telling how much space there is could probably hide an entire army there !!
