Jake sat on the ravaged ground, already in meditation to recover as best he could before it would be time to move on. He’d already consumed a Rejuvenation potion to recover some resources, and seeing as he was focusing on healing, he’d gone with a potion that would help restore a bit of everything.

He didn’t know how long he would have to recover, but he hoped to at least wait out the period of weakness caused by Arcane Awakening. Right now, he was not in the best state to continue fighting, and reactivating Arcane Awakening would definitely leave him in for a bad time once deactivated a second time. Not that he thought that would be necessary.

There was no one else nearby, so for now, he focused solely on recovery while reflecting on the fight he’d just won. Between the Chosen of the Heartsoul Daolord and Aishalstromoz, the True Dragon was definitely the strongest, though the gap wasn’t that massive. Their Paths were also somewhat similar, but the dragon’s durability and innate advantages definitely made her more dangerous. For now, anyway.

While Aisha had definitely been strong, especially towards the end when she seemed to burn her entire existence for an extra burst of power, he still felt that the Domain – or Heartworld as it was called – had more potential. In other words, while Aisha probably had the advantage in B-grade, he could see the Chosen of the Heartsoul Daolord overtake her in A-grade.

Though, of course, Jake would stay ahead of them both. He would like to fight both of them again at that point, maybe even somewhere where risk was an actual factor… though he doubted he could convince them to do that.

For now, Jake found himself satisfied with the outcome, and to his surprise, he’d even gotten a little something unexpected out of it.

You have slain [Royal Golden Dragon – lvl 360] – Bonus experience earned for killing an enemy above your level

’DING!’ Class: [Arcane Hunter of the Boundless Horizon] has reached level 355 - Stat points allocated, +125 Free Points

Getting a level was a pleasant surprise, as despite her being a tough opponent, there was still the entire “this is all a simulation without any real danger” factor. Then again, he had also just received a reward from the Abundant Emperor, lessening this experience penalty, so that was probably why he’d gained a level.

Either way, good things all around. What wasn’t good was that he’d had to use Moment of the Primal Hunter during the fight with Aisha, and he doubted it would be ready again in time for his next fight. Okay, saying Jake had to use the skill was perhaps not entirely accurate. He could not have allowed himself to get trapped or used the escape function of Wings to escape, but he’d wanted to see all Aisha was capable of until the very end.

He also didn’t have to use Event Horizon, but he was happy he had. The look in her eyes when she’d seen the skill was totally worth it, and her sheer awe made him feel more convinced than ever that the skill was a real banger.

As Jake was reflecting on the fight, he paid attention to his Hunter’s Marks out there, and he’d already noticed that two had disappeared, with one of them having been snuffed out during the fight with Aisha, and one of them shortly after. He had no way of knowing who had fallen, but hey, at least he was solidly in the top 5 now, and assuming everyone had gotten into one-versus-one fights – which they seemed to have based on Mark locations - soon there should only be four left.

Jake looked forward to learning who would remain, but for now, he’d focus fully on recovery and working through all his gains from the fight. Even if he hadn’t gotten any skill upgrades, that didn’t mean he hadn’t worked towards some, and every battle was a lesson for now to do even better in the future.

Hopefully, his next fight would also be a good learning experience.

Hail and snow were still falling upon the vast desert of ice, the temperature low enough to freeze even C-grades to death in mere seconds. Oddly enough, a hot sun still hung above; it was just that its light had no chance to melt the ice that now filled the world.

Not too long ago, this had been a large ocean that stretched as far as the eye could see, but now every single speck of water had frozen into solid ice that wouldn’t melt for years to come. A testament to the sheer might of an elemental unleashing its full power upon the environment. To be able to cause such change was truly impressive.

Especially considering it lingered even after the elemental’s death.

Within this vast desert, the only living being was a single human walking across it with steady steps, heading towards land as the hail and snow fell on his body, almost as if it was angry at him for having taken away the one who’d called upon winter.

The monk paid it no mind as he simply kept wandering onwards, accepting the punishment and even allowing it to affect him as the hail left small cuts and the snow signs of frostbite upon his body. Throughout it all, his face remained stoic, with only a slight hint of sadness on it. There was no enjoyment of victory, no happiness from having slain a powerful creature competing with him in the system event.

He looked more like he was just waiting for all this to be over as he continued wandering across the snow, knowing the fight wasn’t done. Not yet.

--

The two swords clashed, though one was clumsy and slow, while the other swiftly moved to counter. The first swordsman was unable to react in time as he was stabbed through the shoulder. He fell back, stumbling as he breathed heavily and fell to the ground, kneeling, only able to hold himself from fully collapsing by leaning on his sword.

“I apologize... I fear this might be all I have,” he said in a weak voice that few would recognize as that of Warlord Davion, one of the top figures of Valhal in this generation.

Not too far away, his second large sword was embedded in the ground, half-buried in rubble from their fight. Seeing as Davion had lost an arm, he hadn’t bothered to pick it back up but had continued fighting until he couldn’t hold on any longer. The toll of the seasons had truly withered his vitality away, and while he’d managed to escape the death of winter, he hadn’t come out in a good state.

“What you’ve shown is also far more than nearly all others,” the Sword Saint answered with a smile as he stood there with his own sword in hand, looking to be in a far better state, though he was also covered in cuts across his body with several internal injuries from the heavy blows of Davion.

Not to mention the toll his own skills had taken on his body. Both humans were severely weakened, but in the end, the winner was quite clear as the Sword Saint was the only man who could remain standing.

“I really should visit this planet of yours,” Davion chuckled. “Carmen has spoken much about it and the people there. I believed her words to have been exaggerated, but now I’m starting to fear she was underselling the sheer absurdity of her homeworld.”

“From my perspective, you’re free to visit at any time, and I’ll be sure to have tea ready if you stop by my clan,” the Sword Saint answered with a smile.

“What, no mead?” Davion said, raising his gaze. “You know what? I’ll just bring some for both of us. To have a toast to your victory. Hopefully, not just victory over me, but also over the others...”

Davion’s voice grew weaker as his boosting skill was forcibly deactivated due to a lack of energy. “I wish you luck... especially against that damn monk...”

The Warlord closed his eyes and died, still kneeling with his hand on his sword, even as his soul was extinguished, and he turned into blue wisps of energy that were scattered into nothingness.

Watching on, the Sword Saint nodded before looking into the horizon.

“I’ll certainly do my best,” he muttered before sitting down and entering meditation, hoping to recover a little before continuing onwards to face the other remaining Administrators who remained.

--

“I would say I’m unlucky... but then again, would things have ended better if I’d fought the Chosen of the Malefic Viper, the Chosen of Aeon Clok, or hell forbid, that freakish monk,” the Demon Prince muttered as he stared towards the sky.

He got no answer as he felt his own soul already on the brink of collapse, barely held together due to his Willpower and boosting skill. Energy continued to surge through his body, but he was effectively a dead demon standing.

As a Demon Lord, killing him wasn’t that easy. Usually, death wouldn’t mean truly perishing, but instead, he’d turn into something that would eventually be reborn into a new Demon Lord. Not entirely the same Demon Lord, though, which was probably why, for the purpose of this simulated world, there would be no rebirth. At least all the other Demon Lords had turned into blue wisps of energy when they’d died within the World of the Exalted Prima.

Still, the Demon Prince was proud of his durability. He was difficult to kill even before he became a Demon Lord, and he was even tougher to get rid of now. He had trump cards, counters to most things, and a Legacy that few could rival, having directly absorbed the Records and Path of a devil – a demon that had ascended to godhood. All with the help of the Chosen of the Malefic Viper, to whom the Demon Prince still owed a massive debt.

“I hoped to at least repay some of my debt during this event... perhaps I would have helped fight the monk. Alas, it didn’t work out that way, now did it?” the Demon Prince continued muttering aloud as he looked to the side. “You just had to be fucking petty, didn’t you?”

There was nothing there, as the Golden Forest King had already disappeared over a minute ago, having turned into blue wisps of energy upon his death. The Unique Lifeform had been truly powerful and surpassed the Demon Prince’s expectations, especially in the end.

When the fight looked to have been decided, the Demon Prince practically tasting victory, the Unique Lifeform had unleashed its final gambit. An attack unlike anything the Demon Prince had ever experienced before, the result of which was his soul utterly fracturing. If he didn’t have the soul of a Demon Lord, he would have died immediately, but instead, he’d remained alive and killed the Forest King, who was left weakened and unable to defend himself properly.

“Even if I’d died, you would have fallen soon after, wouldn’t you?” the Demon Prince continued talking as he continued looking at the sky. “Then again, I guess that’s kind of what happened there.”

Chuckling, the Demon Prince didn’t move but stayed entirely still, only focusing on staying alive. He was already dead, yes, but not fully quite yet, and he hoped that by staying alive just a little longer, he could get a better placement. At least fourth place, right?

He continued breathing steadily as his body slowly started breaking apart due to his Soulshape unwinding. It was unpleasant to say the least, as the Demon Prince soon lost all feeling in his arms, both hanging limply down his sides as they had effectively died on him.

Time slowly passed as he held on as best he could, but ultimately, the second he could no longer keep his boosting skill going, total soul collapse followed. With a final sigh that echoed throughout the large plains that still had remnants of golden energy and cerulean lightning lingering, the Demon Prince turned into wisps of energy as he disappeared. He’d won the fight, but hadn’t survived the pettiness of a King refusing to go down alone; but hey, at least he’d managed to secure that fourth spot for a few extra Prima Credits.

--

Jake still felt a little sore as he confirmed that yet another Administrator had died, though it was under rather odd circumstances. For a good while, there had been four surviving Administrators, as one would expect from four one-versus-one duels, but to his surprise, yet another one had died. All four surviving Administrators had been far away from one another, and the person who’d died had indeed been all alone.

Was it due to lingering injuries? Did they choose to take themselves out for some reason? Jake was genuinely confused, but had no way of knowing the answer. Instead, he wondered who the other two Administrators were. He guessed one of them was the Eastbound Monk, but besides him, Jake genuinely had no idea. Every single Administrator had a valid shot, even Davion, who struck Jake as the weakest among them. From what Carmen had said, he was pretty damn good at fighting, and Jake would never underestimate an elite member of Valhal.

He really wasn’t sure who would remain, but for now, recovery was still the name of the game. Another hour ended up passing with only one Hunter’s Mark moving at slow speeds, with the other one remaining still. Given the current distances, Jake estimated it would be a while before any of them encountered one another, and in all honesty, he wasn’t in a rush either. At least not before fully recovering, and given the chance, perhaps he’d even wait till Moment of the Primal Hunter was available again. Even if that would take a while.

Alas, that didn’t prove to be a possibility. Be it due to boredom from the Abundant Emperor or perhaps some better reason, Jake suddenly felt a change around him that made him wake up from meditation.

The surrounding world warped, and it looked as if the land around him compressed. Jake wasn’t moving; instead, the very world was imploding, shrinking in size with every passing second. Jake was fully awake at this point and started activating Unseen Hunter in preparation for what was about to happen.

Tracking his Hunter’s Marks, he felt them move closer, confirming that the world was definitely being shrunk to force the three of them toward one another. Soon, the shrinking stopped, but Jake kept moving as space remained warped in his immediate surroundings; that also only lasted a few seconds before he finally stopped for good.

Jake had already activated Unseen Hunter, but that didn’t stop what happened next, as what he could only describe as fireworks exploded all around him, forming a circle of brilliant glowing light. At the same time, he saw two identical explosions of fireworks go off within his line of sight; these explosions seemingly ignored the concept of distance, as Jake could clearly see them despite being able to spot the Administrators at the center of the fireworks.

Standing frozen for a moment, Jake made sure no one could actually see him – well, no one besides that one gaze he suspected belonged to the Abundant Emperor – and seeing as no one was, his Unseen Hunter should still work.

With two targets to choose from, Jake wondered which one he’d target first, but fortunately, his decision was made easy for him as one of his Hunter’s Marks started flying towards another, with the one being flown towards not moving. Seeing that, Jake also started flying toward the unmoving target, still contemplating his plans once he got there, though one thing was for sure:

It would definitely involve a Protean Arrow and good old stealth archer shenanigans.

All roads lead to stealth archer.

Thanks for the chapter. I personally predicted the demon lord would win against the golden forest king, but I'm surprised it's a tie. Eastbound monk and sword saint winning were pretty easy guesses. Now, the question so will they go or duels or just have a free for all? Eastbound monk seems the healthiest.

Joshua Schneider

The toll of the reasons had truly withered his vitality away *seasons*

J

So this might be Jake’s first death or he will use Jake juice and the emperor stops the fight

Alex B

Edit suggestion: shrunk to force the three of them, force the 4 of them.

Grimsayer

I didn't see a double knockout coming. I thought wed get a semi final, not a threeway.

Tomer Yud

welp hopefully its not the Sword Saint

Dave

Tftc

definitelynotbrjenness

It would be funny if Jake fired super big arrow and died as soon as it hit, but I suspect the monks fire shield is karma related and might not work against shroud.

DeAndrea H

Tftc! So Jake, the Eastbound Monk, and the Sword Saint. I hope this battle can live up to the hype! I don’t know why but I find Wintermaul dying for Sylphie’s honor hilarious. Sylphie could not careless less. Or could she? Is Zog playing the long game again??? Also, Davion would be devastated to know that anybody considered him the weakest of a group of elite fighters.

Daniel Brian

Aww... Was kinda hoping this would be a mini arc of badass fights 😔 Oh well! 😁

Jasper

I know it won't happen but I would like for Jake and the Sword Saint to team up against the monk. It would assure that an earth faction is guaranteed a top spot and would give a chance for a rematch between the two. Their first fight was maybe my favorite in the entire series.

Siethrobo

I wonder if Jake having ~~toyed with his food~~ tried to see everything Aisha had to offer is going to come back and bite him here. Eastbound Monk has not given the impression that he'd do something like that, so he probably took wintermaul out as quickly as possible. Edit: imagine the words between the '~~' are struck through

2026-09-05 04:00 I figured out everyone! I figured out how long the Seat of the Exalted Prima event will last from clues in this chapter! In Chapter 1404, the Sword Saint asked the Emperor how long the event will last and he refused to answer it, Jake then asked again and the emperor refused a second time and limited everyone to one question, so this has to be critical information. I just finished reading this chapter and realized from the circle shaped world, the environmental factors, separating everyone in to different starting points from a single starting area, having everyone fighting each other in an open world free for all and then having the circle world shrink after some time has passed along with that being coupled with an ironclad boundary, I can conclude that the remaining time for the Seat of the Exalted Prima is... 14 Days, or you may commonly know it as a Fortnite. 😉

Only 8 of the initial 10 agreed to stay, leaving 4 duels and one of those duels resulted in both dead so it's only 3.

R Mac

Will Jake or the sword saints pride allow either of them to gang up on the monk? It would be the smart move to guarantee an earthling wins this part of the event. But Jake is never smart as evidenced by him using two skills he didn’t need in an endurance event

Lemonsqueezy

I called it being a three-way fight between SS, Jake, and EBM. Will we get a rematch or with Jake have a new opponent with EBM. I have betting on the later.

hlias balan

Well the forest king used his trump card that he had used against Jake during the end of the tutorial If I remember correctly fue D-Grades would have survived it(king was D-grade then). Now that he is B-grade his trump card will be able to kill the majority of early B-grades

IntenseSushi

Tftc to be a fly on the wall in those other fights

djthomp

Ahh, all of us who are predicting a clean final four tournament bracket type setup were so wrong. At least the GFK took out the Prince even though he died in the process.

Loststar7

Happy Monday and thanks for the chapter.

Lemonsqueezy

Makes sense to have these three in the final. The Demon Lord, Jake, And SS would have all went against EBM. Compared to everyone the demon lord is also the weakest, at least in the simulation. Zog is setting up a 3 way standoff. Jake is going to win, but the battle will be interesting for sure.

Indomitable

So did sword saint use his transcendence? If he had, I imagine he'll be taken out pretty easily in the next fight

Indomitable

I also really hope it's sword saint vs Jake. I know the monk is being hyped up, but we just don't really know about it him when a rematch would be so cool

Xerecs

Doesn't look favorably on the monk to head straight for a meditating opponent. It seems he would rather take on a weakened opponent then fight them on equal terms. Something I think we can all say both Jake and the Sword Saint would not do. They would wait for the other party to be ready prior to engaging in the fight. Unless Zog is baiting us and the Monk is just going to stop short and be all "Hello there." With a bow.

Spenser Williams

SS has shown to be more practical than Jake with stuff like that, so I could see him be willing, though in this event the desire for each to test themselves against each other seems strong, so who knows?

Adam Taylor

Giving you a like for this beautifully woven horrific pun

atome 4 000

out of the 3 other match only fallen king and demon prince was the one I wasn't sure of the result, but hell ! geting a 3 free for all is something I didn't see coming, and I'm all for it !

Kaladin

I wonder if the monk is a pacifist which perfectly counters any incoming attack? We have a 1v1v1 battle and I'm not sure how journey to the west: eastbound monk will handle it.

Gracie

tftc! 🏹🗡🧘‍♂️

Cory S.

I wish we knew more about the Eastbound Monk but I guess that is the idea. All we know is a name and yet, this unknown entity just cleans house without any real knowledge of how he did it. Definitely seems like a purpose made baddy for this event and not another big bad like El’Hakkan

Nikola Tobias Hunter

Indeed! I too am wondering if the sword saint will team up with Jake. Perhaps a rematch from the first event is in order!

Jasper

Here's hoping that they both want a rematch bad enough to team up and guarantee one of them ends up on top

Trenton Goodman

I doubt it would happen but I would find it hilarious if the Monk was just insanely over hyped and is just destroyed by the sword saint or Jake then Jake and the sword saint get their revenge duel with the sword saint maybe winning

Blake N.

I know. That silly elemental you should stop hanging out with didn’t even avenge you properly!

RareBlood

called it monk vs saint when the monk was 1st intro'd into this arc, also the saint is going to have to go full spring and summer to win but the monks transcendence is going to be fun

Daniel Brian

I was originally thinking that at least two of the deuteragonists would team up for a fight against several others, but I also expected for the GFK to make it to the end. I guess it's easier (better) to write the story when you don't have a bunch of protagonists fighting each other. Makes the stakes pretty low. I see the Sword Saint losing and Jake having learned enough about him to fight him.

Fdrugc

Tftc

Clint

Davion considered himself weak to be in this group. He knew it would have been more reasonable to take the 5% buyout offer, but he’s a battle junkie and valued the chance to test himself against the best (and perhaps learn something or trigger skill epiphanies) far more than the extra points. Re: Wintermaul, I think elementals are very slow to mature. He may surprise us all in A or S grade as he grows up. Whether he outgrows his teenage crush or grows into a more suitable suitor remains to be seen.

Spenser Williams

Doesn't seem like he did, just the upgraded version of his "glimpse" skill.

Bruce K

Will the Sword Saint be killed immediately because his meditation didn't allow him to perceive the fireworks or change in the world?

Nathan

I totally agree. I just am not as hyped for the EBM as I was for any of Jake’s previous adversaries. It feels like he just came out of nowhere and we’re constantly told he’s as powerful as Jake, but never shown anything to hype him up. I understand that’s a narrative choice, but still not hyped for the EBM. I would be super disappointed if Jake lost, especially in a hunting challenge to a non-hunter monk.

C0bra$

Thank u for the story

Abhishek

3 way fight. Winner takes all. No undue advantage needed. Jake is OP. It’s time he asserts his martial dominance over this era

Tribal

Everything worked out as I expected besides the King and demon fight. Of course King would prefer mutual destruction and being petty cause he is a king after all. Lol TFTC

Hi Hi

The dude from Valhal and the demon prince all talked about the monk like he’d be worse to fight than Jake…don’t really understand that honestly. The eastbound monk was at nevermore and didn’t beat Valdemar. Jake was the only one to do it. Idk why they’d assume the monk would be tougher?🥴

Hi Hi

When two people team up they are basically saying “hey we are weaker than you so we are gonna double team you now.” That’s what the risen dude and the sword girl from the dao sect did to Jake. They knew they didn’t have a chance unless they teamed up. So you want Jake to team up with the sword saint and two vs one the monk? Bruh that’s so against his character narrative if that happened I’d be so confused. Jake doesn’t want any advantages if anything he’d probably prefer to be at a disadvantage.

The Art of Pedantry

Yeah, I'm very curious what Zog is gonna do with Wintermaul's character since he's sticking around this long as a major player.

Corey S

We were shown his power when he demolished his antechamber fight, which included the sloth, Carmen, and sylphie

The Art of Pedantry

Thank you for the chapter! Very excited for this potential three way fight. And I do hope it ends up a three way fight and not a duel between SS and EBM with Jake staying invisible and cleaning up the winner. It'd be amusing if SS knows Jake is there since he's the only one not showing his face and bids him join them in the fight.

Author Azraeil

I definitely want to see the sword saint and monk going at it hard core and then have the monk stealth archered just before he finishes off the sword saint and then Jake being like "so... Want to wait till you heal and go at it or just want to opt out now?"

Tichamala

Petition for the Seeker to have a skill that is basically pocket sand but at god level so you know a pocket sandstorm the size of a solar system to throw in someone’s eyes

John Durrett

Jake is Paper (invisibility). Sword Saint is Scissors, Monk (Fist) is Rock. SS(Scissors) vs (Rock) Monk --> Monk (Rock) wins Jake(Paper) vs Monk(Rock) --> Jake (Paper) wins. Easy Peazy Lemon Squeezy.

Rewdan

Thanks Zogarth

Rewdan

Was I the only one hoping that frosty would bet the EBM 😩

Fyrtue

Don't know about him being the healthiest. Jake does have a sacred meditate skill after all so his recovery is going to be unmatched by the others.

Kirin

Remember it’s more about control than size so I petition to change it to pocket sand the size of a solar system but compressed into pocket sand size.!

Kirin

It’s so funny I love the GFK he’s my favourite character. I’m sad that he got taken out. At least he died how he lived screwing Jake over without him knowing it. 🤣

Savage Cabbage

I have a feeling Jake is gonna one shot himself

Aaron Hardin

Yeah, the issue really is there’s no stakes, or at least not nearly as much the eastbound monk it’s only fighting because this is a simulated world in a true life or death situation. He’s not going to be interested in fighting someone like Jake. throw in that there’s no conflict between the factions or real any conflict between the other than this simulated world and the stakes just feel so much less than any other true competitor Jake has faced.

Staudi

Tyftc!

Aaron Hardin

The monk could also have the attitude of “ I am so done with this shit and want to get it over with.”

Erebos

I'm not sure who wins. If the monk is only there for the event, Jake wins. If he is for the whole rank, the monk would have to win or draw. The SS is too weak for both. I think Jake develops a bloodline ability and/or sim Jake abilities. Transcendence would also be a possibility but unlikely. I think Jake can't lose unless he decides against his bloodline. And that would slow him down immensely.

Erebos

Valdema Battle Finale 2.0

Matt

I'm all for a Jake vs SS rematch as the final fight.

Kradish

Feels like the EBM is going to be a gimmick fighter that can only defeat (super strong) people with his gimmick (with the reason for hiding all his fights being to hide gimmick from readers so we discover it the same time as Jake). Setting up for Jake to fail first time around (was there that reward which reduced cool down time when dying? I wonder why...) then learn and overcome the gimmick in a future fight where all the virtual chips are on the table. Hoping for subverted expectations tbh. Gimmick is probably also going to be the thing that forces Jake to evolve SimJake. Maybe EBM can shift all the damage he would take onto his simulated counterparts through some weird karmic link or his real body is in simworld and SimJake will get to go on an adventure to hunt down EBM.

Jasper

I know, that's why I said it won't happen

Coramoor

I have to assume the EBM has some kind of bizarre trump card that the Gods understand but nobody else does. I think it literally doesn't make sense if that trump card beats the bloodline that might require a god to fully utilize though

Elijah Belfer

YES YES YES YES YES. ONE VERSE ONE VERSE ONE. BEST TYPE OF FIGHT IN EXISTENCE.

Wesley Clark

Obligate pacifist monk with full counter ability, SS takes the hit allowing Jake to observe the ability before falling into the trap like everyone else. Perception = best stat

Alex Lane

I think EBM might be a misdirect. He's there to lose 1 on 1 against the sword saint and show off how much SS improved. Jake stays out of it because he wants to see the fight and friendship. Then they wait and full heal cause they want a good fight.

mahmoud fathy

I would be so disappointed if jake died here. The setup is clear to have jake die. A simulation with a very hyped foe. But would jake bloodline allow that and accept the loss

Wesley Clark

This was my read too, SS takes the hit giving Jake the chance to see it before opening salvo

Daniel Hamilton

At some point. Jake is going to figure some stuff out regarding forbidden knowledge due to the fact that he can see the lines running throughout the trial. It’s been mentioned a couple times now. Not necessarily in this last chapter, but I keep thinking about it. I’m guessing there’s gonna be a free for or they’re going to respectfully stand aside well one battles the other with a rest. In between maybe

SmokeJam

Dirty kill steal incoming?

Arieh Sochaczevski

Thanks for the chapter! Three humans as the remaining survivors? There’s no bias to this event, is there?

Austin Barton

I don’t think Event horizon has that long of a cooldown because he only ever mentions not being able to use moment.

Austin Barton

The tagline for it is “Experience the pain of a planet and stars smashing into someone’s eye with every throw!”

Jimbo

Jake is nerfed unless he's fighting alone, though

Jimbo

Wintermaul is sort of a dope. That's the whole point. He's a tool

Jimbo

They like Jake better and understand his powerset.

Xander

TFTC :) WB everyone. Hope y'all had a great weekend. 8 to 3 in one chapter. Guess i dont get my GFL, SS, and Jake fight against EBM :( Gonna be a good one though. 9 chapters remaining until we enter the Desolates. Suggested edits: "He had *no idea of knowing* who had fallen" should be either "no way of knowing" or just "no idea" "to the sheer *power* of an elemental unleashing its full *power* upon" repetitive. Change either to "might" "knowing the fight wasn’t *over*. Not yet." repetitive from earlier in the sentence. Change either to "done" "The toll of the *reasons* had truly " from context, should be "seasons"

Xander

Not really the only one, but everyone knew EBM had plot armour until Jake at least got an arrow on him :)

Xander

Nah Jake is invisible still and was also forcibly woken from meditation by the battlefield shrinking so SS will also have been woken. EBM doesnt seek fights and we know Jakes location and that he is hidden so the movement has to be SS heading for EBM, from context anyways.

Gh0st-Hunt3r

I'm a little annoyed that there being forced into a three-way lol because it is probably gonna be Jake and the sword saint Vs Eastbound monk and I really wanted to see a 1v1 match between jake and eastbound monk alone 😔 but it's probably the only way jake can be 1st place without seeming to OP or just losing outright. Anyways I'm super excited to see this fight either way I guess tftc Zog

I 1000% Agree with your entire statement !!!! Jake is the Protagonist and seeing as you can't kill him off without ending your book series, making him lose in a simulated world where death is not final would be the solution to being able to do this and I've felt like that was the goal for this whole Arc. Like some kind of Lesson to jake and make him seem more like a Normal Being, except he not normal not by a long shot. He is a Bloodline Patriarch, Harbinger Of Primeval Origins, His whole Path is hunting and killing entities of Whayyyy Higher level and power then himself, He is the chosen of the Malefic Viper, and top spot of Nevermore on the 93rd universe score board and All Time Leader board!! If he lost now it would kill his whole vibe that's just IMO

I am left with questions. How weakened with the GFK take to recuperate. Doesn't his trump card take a ridiculous long time to recover? Also is the cerulean demon lord doing the demon lord trick of changing into a different deanon lord after death or is it he just felt like it would have happened if not for the simulation? Tftc!

Here is the Skill Description lol [Pocketful of Sand] (Primordial) A skill forged at the intersection of Absolute Spatial Compression, Conceptual Earth Affinity, and absurd, unfiltered spite. Mechanically, the skill requires the user to keep a handful of entirely ordinary, non-magical sand in a pocket or mundane pouch. When thrown in the face of a target, the skill forcefully unfolds the compressed spatial coordinates of the sand, instantly expanding the immediate area into an isolated, solar-system-scale pocket dimension comprised of a hyper-dense, cosmic-velocity sandstorm. Conceptual Blindness (Absolute): Targets struck—or targeted within direct line of sight—suffer immediate, absolute sensory deprivation. Overrides and nullifies True Sight, Mana Perception, Spiritual Vision, and all spatial awareness skills rated below (Primordial). Instantly pulls the user and the primary target into an isolated Pocket Dimension measuring 100 Astronomical Units in radius. Outside interference is strictly prohibited for the duration. [Cosmic Abrasion (True / Spatial / Earth Damage)]: The sandstorm moves at relativistic speeds, dealing continuous True Physical and Spatial Shearing damage. Strips passive defenses, divine barriers, and armor durability at a rate of 2.5\% maximum Health per second. Casting spells or channeling Mana within the storm incurs a 95\% cast-failure rate due to atomic-level kinetic disruption. Cost: 150,000 Mana + 1 handful of natural sand. Cooldown: 1 Year Evolution Requirement: Upon reaching the Divine Realm and attaining 100% Mastery in [Spatial Compression] and [Concept of Spite], this skill transforms into its True Identity: [Pocketful of Supernovas] (Primordial-grade) Replaces ordinary quartz sand with the compressed corpses of dead stars. The blindness effect is upgraded to permanent existential erasure of the target's sensory soul-nodes.

I feel like this will end in a 2v1. SS used his transcendence but with him upgrading it we don’t know what that means. Overall it seems like the Monk came out the best and Jake usually goes for the stronger opponent. Would be very interesting tho to see both SS and Jake loose for a change. If they loose a 2v1 that would be an amazing setup for the Monk as an antagonist and force Jake to grow and adapt

Fyrtue

GFK'S recovery should hopefully only be the death cooldown. This is a simulated world after all and they made it pretty clear that actions within wouldn't affect the outside world. The demon lord death thing looks like it was more or less disabled for the simulated world based on his remarks from the chapter.

nick gibbons

I hope its a 2v1 vs the monk and then a rematch between sword saint and Jake

heltok

Jake will see EBM instakill The Swordsaint and have to figure out what happened. Hopefully his perception is high enough to get a grasp on the concepts involved…

Josh Waldrip

Don’t want to toot my own horn too much, but I predicted this outcome.

Gh0st-Hunt3r

I think all the Hype about the Eastbound Monk is really about the Unknown ....Zog hasn't said anything about his abilities in any of the chapters thus far, and wants the fight between the EBM & Jake to be full of surprises which I'm all for. Makes it more exciting IMO. You also have to take into account that jake beating valdmar was because of his bloodline, and his Primeval Origin Energy which can be chalked up to Jake getting lucky by having an advantage the EBM didnt have. Just because he won in Nevermore doesn't mean the same thing will happen in his fight with the EBM circumstances are different this time although both are essentially simulations, there are factors that need to be taken into account like the fact that death isn't a real danger and because Jake knows this certain abilities won't activate like before, Zog has stated in earlier books that the Belief In Something is a powerful thing Ie.. [The Desolate Child Of Loss]. There's also the ability Jake's bloodline has to take over even after hes unconscious to continue to fight like and Ego that absolutely refuses to quit or accept defeat like when Jake killed The Forest king in the tutorial. And those are just Some of the [Jake Factors]. What about ALL the [Eastbound Monk Factors].....Oh Yeah there all Unknowns... which is Exciting and Scary all wrapped up in an Anxious Bubble we all are feeling ATM lol

definitelynotbrjenness

very serious problem I just noticed. on the cover of book 13, Jake's cloak (green, but i won't get into that) is blowing in the breeze as he stands on Sandy's back ... when he is in space looking down at the moon. I'm not a cosmetologist or anything, but I don't think there is a wind in space capable of moving fabric. At least not the way the cloak is being blown.

Gh0st-Hunt3r

Yeah but who is he going to target? .....Obviously The Monk! I can't see a world where Jake would attack The Sword Saint like that, It's not in his Nature, Atleast not to someone who is a good friend, Fellow Earthling, And someone Jake has mense respect for.

definitelynotbrjenness

I wish I could add the woman's voice yelling at her horse because it looks dead, "Steven!"

definitelynotbrjenness

you said it yourself, jake is built to hunt beings much higher level than him. these peeps are around his level. he's fighting at 3/4 power.

Gh0st-Hunt3r

You have my Like, But not because your correct....Far from it my dude. It was stated in chapter 1403 and I Quote-- "your Territory Beacons shall be under his protection for the next century. This means they cannot be destroyed, though I will warn you that doesn’t mean your Territories cannot suffer damage, and this protection will not extend to any allies or Vassals.” Everyone else in the room stared for a moment while they also seemed to share a sudden realization. While no one had truly known how long this event would last, it had gone by fast so far, leading someone like Jake to conclude it probably wasn’t going to last that long. However, this reward really put that conclusion into question. A century was a fucking long time. A really long time. Sure, compared to a B-grade’s lifespan, it was a drop in the bucket, but still, didn’t this mean it was expected for the event to last at least a hundred more years? If it did, wouldn’t that mean they could potentially end up spending hundreds of years inside a simulation? So 14 days ? In what Equation, And with which "Facts" from this chapter did you come up with 14 days ?? I'm not trying to be an asshole here I'm truly curious to know since the abundant emporer already stated it was going to last atleast 100 years in prior chapters. Unless your whole post was just a joke 😃 then in that case Bravo you got me lol

Steven Myer

❤️ Just just an elaborate pun on this phase of the fight matching almost exactly a game of fortnite and it happened to be a play on the word fortnight meaning 14 days 😅

definitelynotbrjenness

I get the feeling jake and ss have a good chance of saying, "no thanks. we prefer to test ourselves." Smart thing would be to murder the monk as a team, but that might make him stronger and an offer of a fair duel might weaken him significantly.

Gh0st-Hunt3r

Who is to say that the Eastbound monk doesn't have a sacred level meditate skill as well we know nothing about him so I probably wouldn't make any assumptions just yet

Gh0st-Hunt3r

I hope you already left your simulation room otherwise I can see StalkerMaul immediately going to your door to make sure his Miss sylphie is okay

definitelynotbrjenness

one of the many things I would be okay with seeing is the monks skill not working on someone and he freaks out screaming about how unfair it is.

definitelynotbrjenness

it's my fault. I made so many predictions, this is the only way zog could keep my 100% wrong streak alive.

definitelynotbrjenness

he could have a bloodline that convinces you that you are dead. works great unless you have high perception or the wisdom of old men.

definitelynotbrjenness

he does have the funky time skill that let's him fight in a different time rate. not sure how it will work.

definitelynotbrjenness

Dude, if you're 100% certainty ss is too weak, you need to reread ss sections where he beat three b grade meteor monsters after upgrading his transcendence while still in c grade.

NicN

Tftc

Exaiter

Have a feeling the finale will be old man vs Jake, a good old go all out duel, and evolve dem skill

SR

I’m calling this now. EBM takes hits and redirects it into the soul of the person attacking him. In this case, I bet Jake somehow upgrades Eternal Shadow to take the hit instead.

DefinitelyNotMinaga

Could be System fuckery for the sake of an awesome book cover 🧐

DefinitelyNotMinaga

A rematch between Jake and SS has been long expected, so a wrench thrown into the mix is a surprise that is welcome. It makes the expected and awaited moment a little hard to fully predict as the outcome has several implications. The 1v1 has to happen IMO but this may raise the stakes on what happens after. I've long been waiting for the Dao Sect to become relevant or have its own arc so this might be setting the stage for a later arc while low key hinting at the prowess of the sect. I am excited for sure... show us what u got old man 😎 Jake is ready 😋

Totes

Jake sits back and fights the winner of the SS and EBM

Gh0st-Hunt3r

Ahhhhh 🤣🤣 that's great

Comeback Kid

Makes sense narratively, we've already seen the Demon Price fight and you gotta save a King vs Jake rematch for as long as possible.

beeve

Why is everyone assuming it needs to be a 2v1 against the monk?

beeve

That’s not Jake at all

beeve

Those strings/lines may come into play finally

beeve

I wonder who is the aggressor that is pursuing the other quickly? Probably the monk? Seems opposite of a monk but yeah

beeve

Yeah this time Jake needs to win cuz the sword Saint won last time

beeve

If not now they will have multiple chances.. considering there will be more domains besides the central domain

beeve

Good catch

Gh0st-Hunt3r

I'm not saying thats jake at all but obviously hes headed in to attack when obviously either the EBM or the SS is headed towards the other to attack! Just stating facts not conjecture

Trumangolorian

It was a bad joke dude I doubt he was being serious

Corey Herington

Stealth archer shenanigans onwards to face the other [remaining] Administrators who remained. Jake could clearly see them despite (not) being able to spot the Administrators at the center of the fireworks.

Daniel Hamilton

Almost like they are the codes of the system or something just a bunch of zeros and ones, and if he can figure it out, maybe he can tap into something that he shouldn’t be able to

ABTelford

Yup, looks like stalker ice boy didn’t even get to fight your uncle. If you weren’t so strong I’d worry about you - but you are strong, so give him a good smack if he bothers you in real life. Maybe borrow uncles stinky pot. You won’t be able to unleash its ultimate attack but it should scare him good and proper. 😁

ABTelford

I foresee…an accidental 2 vs 1 as Jake tries to attack from stealth BUT the monk is all monk-y and senses him so his big stealth-empowered sneak attack doesn’t work so he has to fight normal - and his opponents are just as OP as him with that stealth hit out of the picture so he’ll need to team up. Question is…will Sword Saint team up with Jake or the Monk…wait, stupid question. He wants a proper rematch with Jake and a 2 vs 1 won’t satisfy him at all, so he’ll ally with Jake in the hopes of getting his glorious 1 on 1. Yup. So now my question is - will it be a free for all or will the two from earth team up? Hm…

ABTelford

I don’t even play Fortnight and I love this punny conclusion. 😄😜

Matthew Smith

The King being a petty little shit is very on brand.

Caramellato

For the record: if someone offers protection for a century that doesn’t mean a century is needed before said event ends. It just men’s protection is offered up to that point as long as it’s relevant. On another foot, it was just a joke

Fylbrom

I wish I could dislike such a horrible pun, but since that's not an option, il like and comment instead. 🤣

Raj

I think jake is due for a loss against the monk

DefinitelyNotMinaga

😬 beeve reading 2v1 against the monk months later lol
