making coffee after watching Anora [Crunch Time] [Menace sneezes] [Coffee grinder noise] [#4] (Patreon)

So I watched Anora tonight and decided to record our crunch time right after. Don't expect any particularly thought through opinions or analysis, I'm just rambling out my first impression.

I stayed in and had the house to myself this friday night, so I also meandered into the kitchen to make some coffee for tomorrow morning during the rambles.

And Menace sneezed a few times again!

Oh, it was so interesting to hear your opinion about Anora. I've seen a lot of hate this movie because of how much Russian language and actors from Russia are in it. But I was very impressed with the acting. I would like to watch it with you. No subtitles, I'd be your personal translator ✨️💅

I got a ping just when I was making coffee, what a lovely way to wake up :). I've been sleeping so well lately, got a new comforter with some weight to it, it feels like a giant hug (maybe I should invest in a weighted blanket). I love ice plants! I haven’t watched Anora yet—it’s on my list, but lately I’ve been falling asleep quite early, so any plans for watch time have flown out the window. Still, as soon as I can keep my eyes open, it’ll be my first choice. I’m quite curious because of all the mixed reviews. I don’t usually listen to reviews, really, but they do make me wonder what people like or dislike. Hey, a little bit of c**ck is progress in my opinion, because for years now they’ve avoided scenes like that. But I do agree—c**cks need their screentime too! I’m not a coffee purist; as long as my coffee is well-made and warm, I’m happy. I never measure anything—I know my coffee maker by heart, and I know just how much to put in there. We've been together for 11 years, after all. My little baby. But RIP my grinder. I really do need to buy a new one, because let’s be honest: pre-ground coffee—though okay—is just that… okay. Unfortunately, every month I say, “Okay, maybe next month,” but I never actually do it… sigh. Coffee, please. Thank you. Or anything else you’re in the mood for—I’m quite easy. I used to have a Delosperma, but my nephew and niece managed to murder it. Time traveling from the future to say that I watched Anora last night. Spoilers ahead for anyone who hasn't seen it and wants to. I wasn't sure that it would be my kind of thing based on the description but I ended up really enjoying it. It was a lot funnier than I was expecting. The scene with the men and Ani in the house? Oh my goodness. They didn't know what hit them. Literally. I couldnt stop laughing. It just got worse and worse. 😂 Ivan was SO irritating. I kept waiting for him to display some kind of redeeming quality and... nope. I loved the scene in the diner where the three men and Ani were in the booth eating. The transition from the brawl in the house to sitting there unanimously angry/resigned. And then the ending. I'm puzzled. I'm still thinking about it. Was it meant to be sad? Redemptive? Both? I guess it could be both. Or neither. In keeping with how well the movie felt real, I guess real life doesn't necessarily end up tied in a tidy little bow either. Yes, lots of tits. Lots and lots of tits. I relistened to this last night after I watched and you said there was some penis, too, and I couldn't remember any, but then this morning it hit me. The Boner. 😂 Again, hats off to the realism. I liked it. I don't normally care for movies with grittier topics, but this had just the right amount of comedy and softness to balance it all out.
