Hey beautiful people,

I am writing to inform you that by this time tomorrow you will have a BRAND NEW DEMO in your ears. EEK. It's a song I wrote last week about my absolute legend of a grandad.

My whole fam have been on holiday in the west of Ireland (I'll get to go join them for a few days on Wednesday, woOp) so I've been the only one in my house for the last couple days. There really is nothing in the world that makes me feel more nostalgic than being in my childhood house on my own.. I guess with no context for my brother & sister being here & being their current ages it kind of just feels like I'm 12 again, just pottering around the place. I've been walking a lot (here's a random snap I took on a walk this morn) and have just been bowled over by how many memories I have down every one of these roads, on every bus I hop on, every park bench.. it's mad. Eerie & strange, but ultimately I think it's put me in the perfect headspace to write about all things FAMILY. So yeah, hopefully you'll enjoy the song, though be warned.. iiiiiiit's a sad one.

All my love

I was super hyped until you said it'd be a sad song! I'm not ready 😭

I saw on your snapchat that there will be ukulele involved SO I can't help but be super hyped! Time spent in your childhood home can do a soul good. <3 (It can also be super weird and hard to adjust to if you stay for too long, but short term it's great, lolol. I just moved back to my childhood home for the next nine months while I complete my student teaching and prep for my wedding. An odd adjustment after being gone for four years, but a learning experience, nevertheless! Hope your grandpa is okay! Can't wait to hear the tune.

Cannae wait. I have pretty much lived in the same town for 23 years, I mean, we did live elsewhere but still nearby for 7 years, but not far enough away. I'd love to visit old homes and see how my memory is. But living in the same town means I don't really get nostalgic at places in town itself, but if I've ever been to my old school/college/uni after I left, that's when nostalgia hits me. Even going to uni less than a year after I left after spending just a year there. I'd just love to live for a moment in a completely empty world and explore all my past homes and other places at will.

i'm just gonna write the same thing each time in a different language.. <3

I'm looking forward to it! It's always great to re-visit the old places where your memories were made and be taken back to the the mindset that made them special :)

The more you reveal about yourself, the more I'm sure you're a good egg. Sounds like a song I'm going to like.
