This week, I have been doing more exciting work for TOTDC 2, like fixing/improving the UI! XD It's kind of boring, but I am trying to go through all the placeholders (things like guns/shotgun/grenades icons) fix some of the quirky stuff related to how Ren'Py's logic handles screens (like clickable text in certain menus being lit as if selected, even though no such thing was happening), trying to make the UI more uniform where possible, adding more information (like showing HP and shields values in the inventory so that it's easier to decide when to use a medkit and so on).

I also did some work on Caliross, mostly based on reports: I fixed some typos, made it so you can hide/unhide the dialog box not just with CTRL but with S as well (useful because you can't rebind CTRL, and you don't have an equivalent on gamepads), added more details to one of the questlog objective (for the Dragoon quest) and so on.

I still have a bunch of posts to write for you guys, so those are still coming, but other than that there isn't anything major to report. Thanks for your support and your patience, until next time! ^_^

Hi 🫡! I'm enjoying the beginning of Caliross, but I have two questions that I can't find the answers to in any FAQs. There's a walkthrough too, but it doesn't seem to answer my questions. You see, I'm used to Ren'Py, where all the saves are backed up in the "C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\RenPy" directory. So, when updating, you can safely delete each game's folder because there's a backup. Now I'm starting to play RPGM games like Caliross and it's more confusing because each developer specifies a different path 😅. My questions are: 1. In which directory are Caliross saves stored? Are there more than one? 2. When a new version of the ".exe" file is released, is it installed in the same folder where I already have the game? In other words, does it overwrite the existing folder? Or do I need to install it in a new folder and then delete the old version manually? Thanks! As for the game itself, I don't have any questions yet, I like going in blind 🥳🎉!

There's 40 save slots and saves are stored in the Caliross directory (where game.exe is).

So, there's no hidden directory; they're simply saved in the same folder as the game. Very practical, although one has to be careful when updating not to delete anything you shouldn't 😅.

Yeah, that's the main downside. In theory, I think you could overwrite the files when updating, but I rename the folders to show the game version, so copying over the savefiles is probably easier and less error-prone.
