Had to come back here so I can get up to speed for season 2. How did I forget this show was so good?? Except for that little bit toward the end. Seriously, he delivered that guy, got home, dried off, and cleaned up all before Karen made it back? Unless Daredevil is hiding some extra super powers, I'ma have to call BS on that one.

FINALLY..... a truly well written and produced Marvel show. :) Don't get too hung up on the maturity rating thing Nat.... Up until them putting these shows on Disney+ there was no rating higher than TV-14. They only had the higher maturity rating outside of the U.S. to account for the Star programming. So it didn't exist prior ( they basically assumed we were ALL 14 year olds :) and unless you got the warning when they instituted it you would have never known about it.

I would hope we keep it to DD only..... It was the only Netflix Marvel show that was consistently good throughout it's run. And at this point, it's the only character Disney has officially crossed over into the MCU.

You off handedly mentioned in the intro why Netflix sold the show. They didn't. Netflix had the rights to produce Marvel shows, but the rights reverted back to Marvel if Netflix didn't produce a show. So basically 2 years after the last show was produced Netflix didn't make a new show and Marvel got the rights back.

But yeah if you're just going to stick to DD and ignore the other shows, I lose interest This plus the fact that the other show you're reacting to is garbage means I think I'll let this run out Maybe come back again in a few months once you've moved onto something that's actually interesting

Chances of anything but Marvel/Superheroes content winning polls is like 1% sadly. So i wouldn't get your hopes up, the Marvel fans will come out in force every poll. So we gotta hope for a poll without Marvel content, at this point ill gladly watch anyting else.

Charlie Cox really brings it with the acting in this show. There's a lot I personally enjoy about this show, the dark and serious tone, the grounded and intense fight choreography, some spectacular camera work you will get to see later. Ultimately though, whenever I think back to what I love about this show, its the acting of Charlie Cox (and a couple other key actors that show up later) that I love the most.

Not happy at all Nat you have let down an Arcane fandom of more than 1100 people down by ignoring and disregarding us by not reacting to 9 simple episodes 1100 is not something any reactor just tosses aside especially if it is vey short. I hope you understand this simple fact Carry on knowing that although folks may not be vocal about this you have hurt disappointed and upset a significant amount of your fanbase by not indulging us with 9 simple episode reactions. Daredevil is easily the best of all the Marvel shows (and I'm including D+ shows, too) so I can't wait to revisit this wonderful show again. The other Netflix shows unfortunately vary in their quality quite a bit: Jessica Jones is mostly good (especially Season 1 with Kilgrave) and The Punisher rivals DD in quality IMO, but Luke Cage is really goofy most of the time and Iron Fist was very disappointing. And Defenders was just bad. So if Nat does want to continue with the Netflix shows, it's probably going to get a little bumpy. But I'll still watch! Maybe LC and IF will grow on me...

I love arcane and I too am counting the days until I get to see her react to what a masterpiece it is but just because daredevil wins doesnt mean arcane is out for good.

I also voted for Arcane. It seems however you don't understand how voting and polls work. We didn't win. You are saying that because Arcane is shorter it is somehow entitled to being the automatic winner. Nat hasn't let anybody down. You are letting the fanbase you support down by giving it a bad look. Yes the whole Netflix/Marvel thing can seem confusing from the outside, but I believe once Netflix realized that Disney were creating their own streaming service, they didn't want to advertise for them/compete with them/etc. That's why all of the shows were abruptly cancelled, even though they were quite popular.

Apologies guys but sometimes to get what you want you have to Bang Loud. Sitting quiet wont create a change. By banging loud hopefully that caused intrigue which leads to curiosity which might compel someone to do what you want them todo. Yes LC was better for me, too. Mainly because I felt Mike Colter was really good in the title role. Mahershala was great, too, as well as Alfre Woodard. The rest were kind of forgettable. And I say "goofy" because I remember Luke basically just throwing people around a lot, which just got silly after a while. For me, anyway. It's been awhile since I've seen the show. Same with IF, I don't remember much, just that it was disappointing. I liked the woman who played Colleen, she was great, but everything else was just silly and weird. I think I get The Hand mixed up with The Foot Clan from TMNT and it just seems cartoonish.

Nah no way I think of all the netflix marvel shows Daredevil warranted the 13 episodes compared to the rest. I agree that season 2 could probably be cut down to 10 episodes. But definitely not 6 episodes.

I think Nat should do a Marvel poll and a non marvel poll. Let the marvel fans get what they want and have another poll for diversified content. That might solve our problem of marvel shows always winning and and the rest of us getting screwed over. Someone maybe has already said it but I was watching the intro and Netflix didn't sell this to Disney+. Since Disney owns Marvel, it owns the shows now but Netflix still had a contract for how long it would be on their platform. When the contract expired, Disney brought it over and now there is a plan for Daredevil season 4 on Disney+

If you're looking for lighter, more heartwarming stuff to watch in between Daredevil and Euphoria, Heartstopper is just pure, innocent serotonin. It's also a tv show though so I don't know if that would work or not. It's only got 1 season right now, with 8 episodes that are half an hour each it would be a quick watch! Daredevil is such a great show and I was also confused why I couldn't see it on Disney+ and looks like we went through the same thought process! Excited for the next episodes!

I would agree that DD was the only show that was consistantly good throughout the entire series. And since it's the only character they have officially adopted into the MCU, there's really no reason to watch the others for the time being. JJ first season was fair, but the second was pretty bad. LC was pretty atrocious, as was IF. Punisher was far better in DD season 2 than he was in his own show. So yeah, no real reason to do the others.

@edtong Considering she's only doing one episode a week (at least for now), it's going to take a while to get through DD. And considering it's Disney doing the series now, it may very well not be worth watching anyway, as both their SW and Marvel content has been pretty hit or miss. But all that aside, don't worry, she will get to Arcane eventually. She quite obviously knows there's a large group of people who wanted to see her react to it.

To be clear: Netflix never owned Daredevil or the other Marvel shows on Netflix. It was produced by a company (ABC) that is owned by Disney. Netflix just distributed it. When that contract was over they went back to Disney. ABC/Disney wanted to continue with the series but due to a political dispute between the companies Netflix cancelled the shows abruptly.

Hey. I'm glad you said something about the content rating setting. This is the 2nd time I've gone looking for it and couldn't find it. You're definitely not an idiot for that. I think most people never thought to change it because everything is PG-13 or lighter on Disney+. I almost went to restart my Netflix subscription but you were talking about it on my iPad and I was like "ohhhh".

The show itself is really great (I love the cast, the story and the atmosphere), but I just fear you'll be "forced" to watch the defenders (objectively it's really bad) and all the marvel Netflix show (DD, The Punisher and Jessica Jones are really good) and get bored or make "an overdose" of Marvel content, so I suggest you to react to something totally different when it's finished ^^, for a little variety hahaha I hope you're fine, take care, be safe and stay golden! 💛

The content rating (above TV-14) didn't even exist on Disney+ in the states until they added the Netflix shows. It was only available outside the US because of the Star content which included rated R films. Disney+ did post a notification about it when they made the change, but it's been a few months. Pretty poorly handled on their part.

YESSS, the best Superhero content ever, imo. You said at the end that you may want to watch something uplifting, an I would recommend "The Lego Movie" if you've never seen it. VKunia just posted a video for it and sent me down Nostalgia Avenue. If you want something very much not uplifting and totally depressing, I would recomend "The Fallout" on HBO Max, one of my favorite movies of all time.

For these Netflix series, I'd say watch seasons 1-2 of Daredevil and The Punisher (you will hear so many bones crack and worse, though, with The Punisher), seasons 1-3 of Jessica Jones and season 1 of Luke Cage. That eliminates the need to watch The Defenders, or any of Iron Fist. Which kills me, because I love Iron Fist as a character, but ... the Netflix shows were made with a common budget, and when it came time to make Iron Fist, they didn't have much left, so they turned to a showrunner known mostly for making shows come in under budget and on schedule, not for making them *good*. And then Defenders had to build off of what happened in Iron Fist, unfortunately.

In my experience, no. Although I have had issues with other streaming services (Netflix I think) where if I logged into .ca it would still show me Canada only, but if I logged into .com it would show me whatever my VPN was set to, which also theoretically is a way to do it without a VPN if you use a country specific closer. But as for VPNs my same log in worked on both .ca and .com so shouldn't be an issue.

Dude, if it's a show as old as Dare Devil then it's not because it's Marvel, it's because it's both older and really fucking good. I'm not saying Arcane isn't as good, but I'm pretty sure nostalgia is the winning factor her more than Marvel. Partly because if Arcane is as good (haven't seen it but I should) then it will still be relevant when she's done with Dare Devil. There's no new Dare Devil coming out, so fans want to see it while they can be sure it still is.

I was going to ignore you edtong but then I saw just how many of these toxic post's you've made here about boo hoo she's not reacting to the show you wanted at this point in time. You need to chill the fuck out sir. If you can't be civilized and respect the process she has chosen then you should probably leave and do your own react channel. Then you can watch whatever you want. I don't throw a fit when something I'm not so keen on wins. I might try to warn her off with ONE comment BEFORE she starts if I think it's that bad, but it's her channel, her life.

I think it's a bit more complicated than simply, Netflix didn't produce any more episodes given that all the shows were cancelled at the same time but it is true that Marvel always officially owned the rights to the shows/characters themselves. I'm just not certain if Netflix ever had any rights to them aside from the right to stream them which has now expired or if they might have had a bit more than that at one point.

I just finished watching Daredevil a couple weeks ago, picking it up after it jumped to Disney +. It was more graphic than I anticipated, which made it tough for me to push through at times, especially during S2, but the payoff in S3 was incredible. Still not close to my favorite Marvel show (Agents of SHIELD will always be my No. 1) but I hope you take a liking to the story and character work in DD!

2026-09-06 12:00 Nat, just be aware that Daredevil doesn't flow from season 1 to 3 straight through. You have to watch the marvel/Netflix series in release order to get the timeline straight. Season 3 builds off of the defenders, which means you need to see season 1 of each of the other defenders first: Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. But season 1 and 2 of Daredevil are straightforward.

@Kevin Bartelen In all honesty, despite the continuous trolling from our OP here, Arcane is an excellent show. But Daredevil won the poll. Hell, I adored Arcane and still voted for Daredevil over it. Primarily because Daredevil is a really solid show for all three seasons, the character is now included in the MCU, and it's easily the best Marvel TV show done to date on any network. But I would highly recommend Arcane to anyone that hasn't seen it. It was really creative in both story and it's animation style. What our friendly troll here just doesn't want to accept is that he may have to be patient and wait a while before Nat finally get's around to reacting to it. :)

Nah, I'm with @James Zagame here.... Just get the synopsis from Defenders.... No real nead to watch the series as it was pretty rough. None of the other shows are that important either. Daredevil is the only character that's been officially adopted into the MCU anyway at this point. I guess you could throw in the first season of The Punisher, but even with that I would say just watch or read a synopsis as the season it's self really isn't that good. Luke cage, Iron Fist, and the second season of Jessica Jones are complete garbage. Daredevil was the only Marvel show that stayed consistently good throughout it's entire run.

No..... Dear lord no..... none of the other shows were worth a damn. Iron Fist and Luke Cage were straight up garbage, as was season two of Jessica Jones, and season two of The Punisher. Defenders was really rough as well. The only Netflix/Marvel show that stayed remotely consistent was Daredevil, and even it had a few slow spots.

Iron Fist was absolutely horrible on every level. The actimg is horrible, the story was beyond stupid, the defenders was horrible too because it utilized so much of IF's stupid story. Luke Cage was good, Jessica Jones & DD & Punisher were all great. As I understand it Marvel is just letting anything associated with IF, including Luke Cage, die & be forgotten about. They've already started on DD S4, had talks with the actors from JJ & Punisher, but nobody wants more of IF in any capacity.

Daredevil, Jessica Jones and The Punisher are all very worth watching. The Defenders isn't fantastic, but I'd put it on the list to watch because of it linking the shows and characters. Plus if you don't watch Iron Fist or Luke Cage, then The Defenders is the only time you get to meet the most prominent female supporting characters who are the best parts of the latter two shows.

When they brought the MarvelNetflix shows to Disney+, they also beefed up the parental controls, and all account holders had to go in and set them to allow the more mature content. My guess is if you didn't go in and explicitly allow it by a certain date, you defaulted to the TV-14 level, so they wouldn't accidentally let a 10-year old watch The Punisher.

If you want to get the full continuity, definitely watch each season of the various shows in the order they were released(DD1, JJ1, DD2, LC1, etc). But honestly, the only real continuity issue is between seasons 2 and 3 of Daredevil, which is where The Defenders is set. The ending of Defenders leaves Matt Murdock in a VERY different place than he was at the end of DD2. The good news is, if you skip the others shows before watching The Defenders, you don't be all that lost. Plus, the first sequence of DD3 shows you just enough of what happened to get a sense of what his current status is.

All of the defenders shows were amazing. Even iron fist, while being the worst of the batch, is only shit by comparison to the awesomeness of the other shows. Jessica jones season 1 is the best of the entire defenders saga.

If you love this, you should definitely watch the movie 'Stardust' if you haven't seen it. The lead actor in this is also the lead actor in that movie along with Clare Danes. It also features Henry Cavill, Sienna Miller, Mark Strong, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ricky Gervais, and Robert deNiro as a cross-dressing sky-pirate called Captain Shakespeare. It's great. If you're looking for something a bit more lighthearted and fun to watch, definitely check it out.

As you've noticed, Daredevil is definitely filmed very differently to the other Marvel stuff at the time (and even now). I didn't know anything about Daredevil coming in... coming out of this series I was a forever fan. The lighting, music, stunts and acting are just incredible - moreso back then, but still awesome to see now. There is a lot of artistry at play. It's been a while since I've rewatched, so really happy to do so with you!

I think of Jessica Jones as the only other 'must see' Defenders show. The Punisher is really good but tangential, Luke Cage is middling, Iron Fist is bad then okay, and The Defenders is only good for the characters and not the plot.

hahaha... my sister and friends did the same thing with the maturity rating by accident. When they first introduced the maturity thing it seems most people just skipped the question about the maturity setting when logging back in or reopening the app. Most probably assumed it was a random survey. If you just skip through it without reading it just defaults to the family friendly Disney
