Galaxy Quest is an absolute 90’s masterpiece, so hoping it wins!

Caaaaaaarl

Tucker and Dale is EASILY one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. I hope you get around to it at some point.

Katrina Lehto

It is an excellent Star Trek movie. :)

Skippy

All of the above. But Galaxy Quest first.

Rebecca Solomon

Airplane and Life of Brian are foundational comedies!

Julian Calzada

Galaxy Quest please! It's so underrated!

MrHolbyta

All of those are fantastic picks.

Josh G

Lot of good ones on this list. Hard to believe TT is winning. Good, but not up there with the bottom 3.

Tay Schumaker

Good choices here, Galaxy Quest is such a great and hilarious film. You may not get quite as much outbid it without a Star Trek background, but the performances and the script are so well done

Gabriel L.

Airplane! is the funniest film ever made. Galaxy Quest is a genuinely good homage to Star Trek. Tucker and Dale is a hoot. It looks like Tropic Thunder is winning, which is the only movie on this list I would rather not see again. It was funny-ish when it came out, and has some iconic lines, but it hasn't aged beautifully and is just not as funny on rewatch to me personally, at least not nearly as much as Airplane (which I have probably seen 10 times now). I'm sure Nat will have fun with it anyway though.

Travis Starnes

Most of the jokes land even not knowing Star Trek.

DMON

These are all really worth watching and they're all a little different.

anthony

Yeah Tropic Thunder is leagues better

dieselbeast

Tropic thunder is hilarious although it came out right before social media and cancel culture really blew up so I don't think it could be made today lol but it's def worth watching

PickettsChargingPort

Shame Tropic Thunder is winning. It's fun but the weakest in the list, at least for me.

Bec Watson-Tollis

I do just want to very gently bring up that Tropic Thunder has some issues over blackface, just might be worth looking up/being aware of before hand x

Ian

I could have sworn you had seen galaxy quest guessing not lol so anyways that got my vote I know how much you love Alan rickman and he's fantastic in this movie but pretty much you can't go wrong with any of these picks 👍 have a wonderful Tuesday nat enjoy the footie 😃 Darryl knows what I mean lol

Guillermo Antonio Ricci Alvarez

cancel culture and social media already existed when it came out, it was a movie based on how this kind of situations are 100% wrong to do...also yeah, I wish it doesn't win as I prefer the others first

Jacketb

Galaxy quest is so good, glad it's doing well. Tropic thunder is fun too though and I only saw your once years ago

Wex

Tucker & Dale vs Evil is the only one I haven’t seen, so I voted for that. I personally don’t feel comedies age well, and despite Airplane and Life of Brian being “classics”, I don’t see Natalie enjoying either one as much as Tropic Thunder or Galaxy Quest.

Andreas Sommer

Honestly i would love to see all those reactions. All those movies are awesome

anthony

The only people who have such issues with the movie are ones who actively try to be upset about something.

THE LORE!!!

Solid lineup. I'd be happy to watch along with any of these (though Life of Brian is an acquired taste imo). Voted for Galaxy Quest, It's the most wholesome of the bunch.

Eric Janssen

Admit it, people--It's not Tropic Thunder you jam down reactors' throats, it's Tom Cruise, isn't it? She has to watch the whole 90 minutes just because you thought five minutes of it was goofy, foul-mouthed and "random"? At least Airplane is sustained funny for the whole ride. And now that we have Galaxy Quest on the poll, it's time to play, "Has the reactor seen Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan?"

Hugh Mungus

Or, you know, it's just a funny movie. But you go off queen.

Sean

Oof, that's a tough poll. All winners.

jamie jones

Ugh, none of these are very good. So many better comedies out there.

Joe Blankenship

Have you seen Monty Python's Holy Grail already?

NawwDude

Euuuuuuuuuuugh......TF is DD S01E04..........???

Joe Blankenship

All the issues are covered in the movie.

Erik Larson

Surely Airplane and GalaxyQuest have to be the picks here?

Adam Doyle

Airplane is a Classic!

Josh

That's tough. I love them all besides Life of Brian. Airplane, then Tucker

Daniel Ketchum

Surely, Airplane is the greatest comedy ever made.

Caaaaaaarl

I think this is (how to word this properly? permissible?) for a film from over ten years ago, as it was a different time, is played as satirical, and the genuine African American in the film addresses it in albeit in character. Granted this could never be made today. Also, I'm not saying blackface is okay. (not even a little) The only acceptable blackface is the DnD episode of community; Professor Chang as a Dark Elf, to which they also address

Henkan

Exactly what I was thinking! The best non-niche comedies out of this line-up (and IMO some of the best of all time, but each to his own).

Bec Watson-Tollis

I definitely understand all that. If it was just for a movie to watch at home, then sure. But for Nat to be putting out content on the internet involving it, I think it’s fair to be made aware before going into it and being able to make an informed decision

Choof

She said in the post yesterday there was a technical issue and daredevil will be up on wednesday

Rich

It's a really well written story by Ben Stiller with a cool cameo

POSTALMNDCLARITY

Tucker and Dale is so amazing! Incredibly under-rated

Kevin Maguire

Wow! Tough choices but Airplane! is a comedy legend.

PickettsChargingPort

Jeez, dude. I think TT is the weakest on the list, but this stuff is subjective. It's possible a majority of users simply like TT more than the others.

John

Galaxy Quest has become a cult classic. It's a seriously underrated masterpiece.

Kevin Ruiz

I'm genuinely shocked Airplane isn't further up. It's an amazing classic comedy!

Jeff K.

I mean you have to watch all of these, plain and simple.

Fostena

Galaxy Quest is a perfect parody

Rey

Is tropic thunder streaming on anything at the moment?

Artisanbloodbank

Do Tucked and Dale for Halloween for sure, it'll be a nice pallet cleanser for scarier stuff.

GeekWithNoName

Such a hard poll as they all are great films!

Troy

My first thought was "You've never seen Airplane? Surely you can't be serious." But then I had some recollection of you possibly not liking stupid humor, or something? I forget the category. Anyway, I'm not sure it has aged well, from a "new audience" standpoint. So much of it is 70's/80's pop culture (except the wordplay.) If you've ever watched Star Trek, then Galaxy Quest for sure, otherwise some of the jokes might not land. All of these are satire/parody/spoof type movies (although I'm not sure about Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, not having seen it), so if that's your jam, then any of them should be good. Tropic Thunder is probably the most current.

Darryl Low

Happy Choose Day Nat. Not seen most of these, but will go for Galaxy Quest this time. Have a great day 💛

Annie519

A great comedy you should consider that I think is one of the best is Clue! It has such great comedic legends in it! Another one that’s similar is Knives Out!

Troy

It's currently free on YouTube, actually. (Though that would be problematic for watchalong since I think there were ads. Which I blocked, but not everyone can do that.)

Jason Gillman

Wow, tough poll. Voted for Tropic Thunder and Galaxy Quest.

Chanandler Bong

I was going to vote for Galaxy Quest, but the movies makes a lot of sense if you watched a lot of Star Trek or Star Trek based series. Don't get me wrong, the movie can stand alone but it's different level when paired with Star Trek. Life of Brian is a must, that's OG.

Keenan Bartlome-Pierson

Life of Brian isn’t just the best movie on this list, it’s one of the greatest movies ever made. However it’s a lot more nuanced than the other movies on this list and many people won’t get that.

Stephen Hall

Tough choice between Tropic Thunder and Galaxy Quest. Both great but today I voted in favor of GQ.

Myles Away

I voted Tropic Thunder and Life of Brian. But you should wait for Tucker & Dale for Halloween. It will be a fun bright spot amongst the other horrors.

Myles Away

"cancel culture" is just a new term for "politically correct" which has been booming since the 90s. Tropic Thunder didn't get a bunch of shit because its funny and the movie is making a comment about a controversial topic which is the basis of all great comedy. I'd like to see Life of Brian but I am down with Tropic Thunder as well.

PiratedTVPro

"She is serious, and stop calling her Shirley."

Stropheum

galaxy quest EZ win

Laro

I haven't seen Tropic Thunder but its synospsis lets me think of Argo immediately! You can't go wrong with neither Airplane!, Galaxy Quest nor Life Of Brian. I'll put my vote on Galaxy Quest because real Trekkies never die! :)

Nathaniel Wolf

Realistically they're all great choices, The one I care for the least I guess is Tropic Thunder.

NapKingCole

Airplane needs to be done!

Philip Davetas

I picked Tropic Thunder, but you really should watch Tucker and Dale anyway. If not for our pleasure but for your own.

SuicuneSol

These are all good movies that I'm hoping you'll eventually react to.

Kit Thomas

So many good options here!

PlayfulPB

Had to vote Airplane because 1) it's arguably the funniest movie of all time...and 2) how important it is to the comedy genre

Steve J

GQ is the only one on this list that when I run across it on TV I don't change the channel

Nathaniel Castle

Shocked Monty Python is losing! Even more shocked Tropic Thunder is winning!

ScottK63

These are all great so hopefully it's a matter of when, not if, you'll do each one. Tropic Thunder is a better summer picture and if you arrange them properly it might be near Halloween by the time you get to Tucker.

Ken Schneyer

Galaxy Quest is funny, but it’s even funnier if you’re already familiar with Star Trek.

Richard Maurer

Tropic Thunder is not as funny as Airplane, in fact very few things are as funny as Airplane.

Alexander Vasquez

All good choices. I voted Tucker and Dale because Alan Tudyk. Anything with Alan Tudyk is the best. That's just a fact.

Brent giesbrecht

Excellent poll and if the trend continues Tropic Thunder is gonna be a blast. Although I'd say even if you wait until halloween season, you should just react to tucker and dale vs evil. It's such an unknown movie and I can't see it ever winning a poll but it's just such a genius and great movie.

Richard Maurer

TT is the only movie on this poll I didn't care to see again, not because of the "controversy" but because it's just not particularly funny. It's a SNL sketch that went on too long. Any of the others would be fine, voted for Airplane, TaDvsE, and Galaxy Quest (GQ mostly because it appears to be the only one with a chance of beating TT).

Matthew

Alan Tudyk alone should elevate Tucker and Dale above the winner-takes-all nature of polls. If it isn't watched on its own, it should get an automatic spot for Natmares.

Kyle

Oh man these are all good

Achton Smidt Winther

Life of Brian, no contest. Leslie Nielsen is legend, of course - and Galaxy Quest is a succesful spoof, mos def. But c'mon. Life of Brian was banned when it came out .. IN NORWAY!! Also: ROMANES EUNT DOMUS!

Eldarth

Wuuuuut!? Tropic Thunder is Tom Cruise's greatest role EVER! ;-)

Eric Janssen

(Told ya. To the fanboys, it's a cameo with a movie attached.)

Jules Readner

Galaxy Quest and Tucker & Dale are absolutely amazing but every movie on that list is great. You should watch them all eventually.

Jules Readner

Same here. Tropic Thunder is fun but I wouldn't watch it in full for a third time, even with Nat. Would watch GQ or Tucker&Dale for the bazillionth time though.

Felix Bergman

Never seen Tropic Thunder or Tucker and Dale, so can't speak for those, but both Airplane! and Life of Brian are the two funniest movies I've ever seen and I've watched both loads of times, so either of them is my bet (put my vote towards Airplane! today). Galaxy Quest is great, but it's to the Sci-Fi genre (to Star Trek in particular) what Scream is to the horror genre, and if you're not at least aware of Star Trek and it's fandom most of the meta commentary will go over your head.

Craig Bowling

She needs Death at a Funeral on one of these

Stephen Lewis

You should just react to Tucker and Dale whenever you feel like it. It's a great slasher comedy!

This_Jedi_crafts

The picks are all great in their own rights. Would love to see a yummy reaction from Nat for Tucker and Dale - when I first heard about it, I was going to dismiss it. Then, when it came on Netflix, I totally enjoyed it! Such a well done parody.

Andrew Dickinson

So close between Tropic Thunder and Galaxy Quest..

Brandon

Given Nat's involvement in the movie industry, Tropic Thunder is honestly a pretty great winner.

Richard Maurer

Personally, I think horror comedies should be banned from Natmares. They're a way to get around watching movies that are actually scary. Also most horror comedies aren't particularly funny either. And the ones that are actually funny (Tucker and Dale, Army of Darkness, etc.) can be watched anytime.

Steve

Has she mentioned the movie before? I'm slightly concerned that she may not know about the Black face worn by RDJ and I don't like seeing reactors uncomfortably trying to thread the needle on commenting on it.

John Hanna

So many GOOD choices!! grrr

Inhale Burrito

Please keep Tucker and Dale on retainer. It's precious.

DAVID BRANHAM

While Tropic Thunder is great, and I would of course indulge in viewing your reaction piece, I think you have probably seen enough Star Trek (original) that you would find Galaxy Quest hilarious.

DAVID BRANHAM

BTW. Really glad you added Euphoria!

Matthew

Fair point! Now you got me thinking of legitimate horror titles.

Skizane

Airplane is a genuine, bona fide classic. It set so many standards for comedy that the entire genre changed after it came out. Every parody since steals jokes from it, and it's just as funny now as it was when it came out. Nat, if your patrons don't vote it in you need better patrons.

Marty McGee

I get your point, but I think it's fine to include one horror comedy during the season. Especially when horror isn't your favorite genre. I don't watch heavy horror flicks, but I'll watch the occasional Shaun of the Dead or spoof type horror.

Marty McGee

Clue is still one of my favorite movies. Madeline Kahn was such a comedic genius. And Knives Out is fantastic with lots of great actors.

DaftBasterd

I really hope that Tucker & Dale vs Evil ends up being one of the films that you say f it and just watch because you want to because it's super underappreciated and so many people would be seeing it for the first time. I guarantee you'd love it!

TamaMetalPuppet

Come on Tucker and Dale!! though, Tropic Thunder and Galaxy Quest are also super fun

Tesh

aw im sad Tucker & Dale vs Evil is behind, its such an amazing movie

MightyHobo

Galaxy Quest. Come on that movie is amazing!

Eric Janssen

We already know that from the fact that TT is winning. (Tropic Thunder reactions?? What is this, 2020?)

Eric Janssen

Horror comedies? So, when should The Abominable Dr. Phibes be watched?

Jason Dolan

she should really watch STAR TREK before GALAXY QUEST to fully enjoy it. Sort of like watching SPACEBALLS without having seen STAR WARS.

Steve J

Lol, just watched Army of Darkness two nights ago...

Steve J

I'd say their comedic chops are at the top of this list by far, but Monty Python takes some getting used to if you've never seen them before. Has she seen Holy Grail? I feel like that's the go to starter movie for them

Jack D

These are all great picks

Flur Oji

Looks like Tropic Thunder will win but be sure to watch Life of Brian as its a great comedy movie as are most Monty Python movies.

Flur Oji

be sure to give options she can put in a vote for later then. Everybody have different tastes and these are what are up so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Daniel flohr

Honestly, you should watch all these eventually.

MovieGist

Airplane, like Shawshank Redemption, is definitely required viewing. It's an entirely different kind of comedy, altogether.

MovieGist

Was actually searching for Nat's reaction to Airplane a couple of weeks ago. Couldn't believe she'd never done one. And that as much as anything, led to my drinking problem.

MovieGist

Airplane aged like fine wine though.

MovieGist

You'd think so. And don't call her Shirley.

Nambao Mutemwa

I've waiting for this! Let's go Tropic Thunder!

Achton Smidt Winther

While Holy Grail is their first comedy film, I think there is a significant difference from that to the approach they took with Life of Brian four years later. The gags in Holy Grail are much more akin to their Flying Circus shenanigans, which most definitely require some acclimatizing. When they got around to writing Life of Brian, I think they had much more to say, a better story and more mainstream humour that stands up to scrutiny even today. I don't feel the same can be said about almost any of their other skits and films - those are mostly for us oddballs! :)

Rich House

It's an entirely different kind of comedy

Aaron Davies

😞 tucker and dale vs evil is 3rd . Absolutely love that film . Alan tyurk at his best . The others are good as well .

Julian Calzada

I gave this some thought after re-watching it and you are absolutely right. There are a lot of jokes that I don't think a casual viewer would pick up on. It's a shame because I can't imagine fitting in all those episodes of even one of the Star Trek series before watching Galaxy Quest. .__.

Richard Maurer

Phibes gets a pass for its comedy elements, is completely legit horror in my book. Not that it's ever going to get reacted to - well maybe ten years from now when reactors start to get desperate for content.

Richard Maurer

It's an entirely different kind of comedy

Opti_Frog

I am very offended that Life of Brian, the best comedy ever made, is in last place.

Opti_Frog

I would have thought that Life of Brian was the most timeless film of this poll. It's the one with the least amount of pop culture references, with the possible exception of Tucker & Dale. And while T&D is charming, it's one joke stretched over one and a half hour.

History Nuggets

Galaxy Quest is brilliant, but frankly I wouldn't mind Tropic Thunder either.

Dooly

Think it’s a tie between that and Blazing Saddles

Blackavar

Count me in for another vote for Clue and Knives Out, both are must-see movies.

NV_BirdNerd

Raising Arizona. You won't be disappointed

Philip

I’m excited to rewatch Tropic Thunder with you! Instant classic!

JohnnyTankTop

Tropic Thunder is solid but Galaxy Quest is my favorite on this list... Never give up.. Never surrender!

Tiger Chu

These are really tough choices so i just ticked all the boxes

Opti_Frog

BS is certainly the best of the Mel Brooks comedies.

Ben Curran

OMG you have got such a bloody great list here! All great, Tucker and Dale I had never heard of years ago and saw who the main actor was and instantly watched it and it's fricken amazing! All of these are great choices tho to be fair.

Cripkie

Galaxy quest always gives me the feels. But im a sci fi ner.... enthusiast.

BlacMachina

Love Galaxy Quest too.... But it lends a lot from Star Trek..... Not sure how much Nat would have seen to draw the comparison from

Andaroo379

Galaxy Quest will surprise you. Tis wonderful. Hope you get to it someday soon! -)

Cripkie

True but its more about the actors behind the show more than the genre itself. I think she will appreciate that from her experience in the industry.

Daniel Vezina

Alright snowflakes, it's not that you don't like comedy. It's more that you don't get comedy.

Thomas Yanez

Wow, I really wasn't expecting TT to crush the competition. I hope she gets to everything on this list eventually.

Bret Moore

But Tucker and Dale is so much fun!

Fanatic

Would you ever consider reacting to the Kingsman Movies? Pretty fun to watch, doesn't take itself too seriously

Dani Jordan Lesue

Since you watched mad Max fury road you should add babe to your watch list

Jeff E

Can we please vote to let Natalie FINALLY watch Matt Reeves' Planet of the Apes trilogy? She has said many times she really wants to watch them. She's a big Andy Serkis fan & Caesar is his BEST (if not most iconic) role. She also really liked Matt Reeves' directing for "The Batman." It's a slam dunk. Let's make it happen!

OddThomas

Tropic Thunder just isn't funny

Allie

I’m sad that I’m barely subscribed to your patreon and this poll is over and you’ve watched tropic thunder already. Please keep Galaxy Quest on your list.😭

Rory Sickles

My answer is "Yes" on a multiple choice question.....

Javi

Watch Jojo Rabbit! So good. Directed by Taika Waititi
