Calm down on the uncalled for Ted comments

Hope you are doing good Nattie G. Excited for another Things Thursday. Wow, this episode was directed by Andrew Stanton, who wrote and directed one of my favourite movies John Carter, and he also wrote and directed Finding Nemo and Wall-E 😋 There was certainly a lot going on in this show, and I was with you Nat. as soon as they put an X on it, I assumed it was a map of Hawkins ha ha. We'll definitely have to hold onto our pants until tomorrow now 😀 Thanks for a fun video today Nat 💛

Lee Gannon

"Is it a treasure map?" is a reference to Sean Astin being in The Goonies.

Craig Bowling

I'm sure someone's said it, but this season is the weakest of the 4. That's saying something 'cause it's still a good season. Also, Nat's used campy to describe this season several times thus far. Am I just misunderstanding the term campy? I don't find it campy at all.

Dooly

No, she’s been misusing the term rather frequently.

DrowningKraken

Season two always felt like the weakest season to me, I still like it but I agree with you it is campy and all over the place.

Darryl Low

The urban dictionary definition of camp is - Something that provides sophisticated, knowing amusement, as by virtue of its being artlessly mannered or stylized, self-consciously artificial and extravagant, or teasingly ingenuous and sentimental. I think Nat means that she's finding it more theatrical and exaggerated than season one.

Naw

@Dooly ; I AM THE FIRST TO TYPE THAT. Like 4 eps ago go check it. It's been pissing me off all season, along with all the disrespect in general....sigh. Two is SO under appreciated, it's *maddening*. A lot more people are choking on their words after the release of 4 though, and seeing how actually *important* Two was/is. Kinda fun to watch, lets see if Nat goes this way....in like five years when she finally gets to 4.....lol

Naw

@Darryl Low .....Yeah............lets not urban dictionary words that actually exist/have PROPER definitions and have had for decades thanks...

Marty McGee

From Merriam-Webster: campy - adj : in the style of camp : absurdly exaggerated, artificial, or affected in a usually humorous way Seems like a good description of some of the elements in Stranger Things since the beginning. That doesn't make it bad or less enjoyable. It's just a style choice and the campy moments really balance out the serious ones in my opinion.

Darryl Low

Ok Mr. Naw-it all, what's your definition of camp?? I'm dying to hear it.

Jeff E

There are campy moments, but it's by no means a Sam Raimi film. He is the KING of campy horror if you're looking for a visual definition. This IS the campiest season of the series but, like almost everything they do in this series, I think it was purposeful. Its not a coincidence that Ghostbusters is so heavily referenced in S2. That film is quintessential 80's camp horror-lite. The 80's definitely went through a campy phase & the Duffer Bros decided to show that in S2. Unfortunately, S2 is also the weakest season. A big part of that is one of the few total misses by the show...El's "sister," 008. It was a shit storyline & was executed even worse. It's pretty clear they realized that storyline was a dead-end DURING production because it's the opening scene of the season & then we don't see anything about it again until late in the season in a one and done episode. They never circled back to that storyline, either.

Jeff E

Oh, don't worry. The Duffer Bros more than make-up for the lack of scares in Seasons 3 & 4. Just you wait.

Johannes Roux

Why is your fiancée a paid patreon of yours?? 😂😂😂

TheDude

I don’t drink a lot. But when I do drink I prefer vodka. I hope that doesn’t mean I am considered crazy by my family and friends!

Alan Felicia

Nat, let us fans introduce you to an unlikely "Bro-mance" = Steve & Dustin

Bpark

I agree S2 is super underrated! Because it has to do the heavy lifting of establishing a lot of the show's most important relationships.

Logan Kerlee

That's very true. It helps lay down some foundation. The issue is, it lacks entertaining substance. It doesn't have many "Wow!" moments or scares, like other seasons do.

Richard Maurer

Is he the on the highest tier? He better be.

Is that Koda stuck in the cone of shame ):
