Part of why this series hits for me is that it reminds me that living is enough, even if all I'm doing is getting through the day. You don't have to hope that there's a reward at the end, but every experience is the reward. At least that's what I get from it. Great episode.

While that exact style of knife wouldn't have existed at the time (to me it looks like a bowie knife) it is interesting that sawback blades were created in that area of the world around this time. It makes sense that someone so skilled at killing would have one for disarming. Nice call by Lindsay about why the heretic would think they would be interested in the stars. Thanks for the reaction! I know its not always easy especially with shows like Orb that demand your attention. Look forward to the next one :)

I think Orb in me instills a hope I haven't really felt from a show in a long time. Seeing these characters struggling with themselves, their beliefs, trying to live in a time where you obey or get called a heretic and pursue their hopes and dreams and the truth instills a lot of different emotions in me. Just such a well crafted story.

I'm watching this anime alongside you, so I don't know where the story will go. But so far, this heretic seems less interesting to me than the previous one. His character feels more cliched — the typical “rational atheist” who easily dismantles others' beliefs. In contrast, the first heretic, who said something like “I believe in God, so I seek the truth in a world that cannot help but be beautiful”, came across as much more original and layered. That said, I might be wrong, and this current character could still turn out to be more compelling as the story unfolds Either way, thanks for the reaction — it's always great watching along with you!
