It's a Boldmas miracle!!

Lūthér Hölâyèãhmé

Fujitora did nothing to stop Doflamingo in order to show the world that the Warlord system is corrupt.

3:00 '' He didn't know how much he was worth '' He's right but not the way he thinks but also SCREW YOU BURGESS!

FUJITAURA THE GOAT Information is a weapon and he knows very well how to use it. He needed Luffy to defeat Doflamingo because he needed the country to align with someone other than the Navy. To make his point clear, they CAN'T be the heroes of this story the same way Smoker '' was '' the hero of Alabasta's freedom. Which mind you not even the citizen knew who actually saved them. Love how Doflamingo and Crocodile even end with the same pose, knocked down. One was brought to light, the other down into the depths of hell.

Never considered how by doing this he saved the island from a Buster Call but you're 100% right!!!

Fujitora is such a refreshing addition to the Marines/WG. We kinda had this with Aokiji but he's always been a bit flimsy in his convictions and he is, by his own admission, pretty lazy. For nearly the whole damn series it's been almost nothing but back to back atrocities, coverups, and corruption with this organization. We got our few good eggs on the inside (Koby, Smoker, etc) but they lack the real power and authority to make significant change on their own. On the whole the WG is far too rotten. Then finally Fuji comes along and decides "Nah enough. Time to take some accountability at the very least". You really won't see no one else on the Marines do what he just did, not even Koby imo. Absolutely crazy work on Fuji's part.

I think it's actually fairly common for 'newer' Japanese media (90s and beyond) to be critical of Japanese war crimes in WW2. The first one that comes to mind to me after One Piece is the original Resident Evil trilogy, which is probably not what most people think of. Metal Gear Solid is another more obvious one. But the RE games feature human experimentation done by Umbrella and other companies that is very reminiscent of Imperial Japan's Unit 731. The human experimentation done in the RE games is universally depicted as being incredibly cruel and inhumane and pure evil, and leads to nothing but mass human suffering and death, ending with nuclear bombs being dropped, evocative of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It's a pretty damning and unsubtle critique. There's much, much more, like villains regurgitating racist rhetoric straight out of Imperial Japan, which is portrayed as being insane and is immediately criticized by everyone, and critique of the military industrial complex, which swallowed up almost all of Japan's money to keep the war going, while its civilian population literally starved to death en masse, like in Grave of the Fireflies, which I'm sure you've seen.

I LOOOOVE the design for AppleNine I'd want to live there

Yh in manga a lot of people were theorising why Fuji didn’t just fight and end doffy but in the end it made sense. He was getting luffy would win so he could show the WG incompetence and bring it to light. If they themselves fought and won vs doffy, it’s another smoker situation or worse where they can spin it to “we investigated and stripped doffy of his status “ rather than the fact doffy did all this under their noses for years

This episode planted a lot of seeds that can't be undone. Fujitora has a lot of balls is one way to put it.

boredbeck

Fujitora did the same old "Do it now, apologize later" lol

We can't be sure what exactly Oda had in mind when writing such scenes but the parallels to our world issues or situations are definitely there and we can be confident they were at least an inspiration. Even if he wasn't intentionally trying to comment on irl politics (although, I believe he was), those scenes bring to mind some real life situations and make us reflect on them and that is every writer's purpose. So I agree with Carson here.

Bun_s_Life

I have to add Garp to that. He did and was still doing a lot of good deeds, protecting people, often disregarding orders, refusing the proomotion to Admiral position so he can have more freedom to do as he pleases and help people. He's definitely whimsical in what he's doing but undeniably the hero of people and a huge help to many which he managed to stay as by staying in the backrow.

Akainu gonna be pissed!!!! 😡 🌋

Doflamingo to me is the best Vilain in one piece and no one comes even close

Fujitora the goat

Terskstar

Fujitora wanted to expose the system’s corruption, so he let Luffy win to publicly prove the Warlord system was flawed. And then he publicly knelt and apologized to Dressrosa, admitting the World Government had protected Doflamingo and exposing the system’s failure. He's the goat.

Really appreciate the uploads that brought us back to schedule ! Also, Carson seems really locked in now, satisfying to hear his thoughts today : ) interesting thoughts.

As much as I love BM and Kaido, I agree. No one scared me like Doffy did.
