ODEN WOULDNT BE ODEN….!!!!!!

Desdinova

If only the citizens could realize they are wrong this easily when presented with facts. Wait the guy who tied us up and said he was going to sell me into slavery was the bad guy?

Oden the greatest

지원

i'm glad you guys okay

Artemis

One of the greatest pieces of character writing that oda has ever conceived in this story. R.I.P Kozuki Oden! You are a legend that will never be forgotten and your legacy will transcend generations to come.

Artemis

Orochi is just completely unhinged and cold-blooded. He doesn't have a single ounce of pride, morals, or warrior spirit, his entire existence is fueled by this absolute, unbreakable grudge against the Kozuki clan. He will slaughter anyone in his way just for a taste of revenge, and he feels zero remorse about doing it at any given time. On the other hand, Kaido actually operates on some level of pirate honor. He’s a monster, sure, but he respects strength and values a genuine warrior's death. Oda is trying to present that sort of contrast here between the two characters.

Michael DeArmas

When the show literally says "your body is dead" maybe just believe it. I get that Oden is goated, i love him too, but he was very much obviously dead from the boiling. Just like Whitebeard was obviously dead when Akainu took out half his face, he lived on for a bit afterward (and technically died to Blackbeard and his crew instead) but the wounds he took were already fatal.

Sanji Joestar

Oden's execution is inspired by the story of Ishikawa Goemon, the leader of group of bandits. He was sentenced to boiling alongside his son Some story say he held his son high enough to survive the boiling while he died. Some other say he tried to hold him but then suddenly drowned him in the boiling pot to end both of their sufferings.

RIP Oden and Goemon

kaido is a piece of shit. no reason to waste time defending him. he still avoided smoke with oden and still went back on his word multiple times.

Oussama Essamadi

I think Kaido’s confession is less about him demanding more respect from the viewers and more him drawing a line between him and Orochi’s state of affair.

millecamps

about the comment that kaido's man were laughing because of tge smile fruit at this moment from shooting unharmed villager. smile fruit were not a thing yet, it only started being a thing around 3 or 2 years ago from memory, and the oden story took place 20 years ago. as for kaido, i think there some respect in him, not a warior's one but a pirate code. he will not give a second chance to an ennemy just because he won in an unfair way unless doing so please him. but he will make the person who made him win in an unfair way pay because he doesn't enjoy winning in such way. basically kaido will take the unfair win but will not enjoy winning like this. i also think that if orochi was not here kaido would have held up his promise to let them go free, but would have attacked them later on since they are still his ennemy.

Sanji Joestar

Dissecting a character's motive and actions isn't the same as defending them. When did he 'avoid' smoke? They both fought and were about to continue until Orochi made a proposition and Oden took it. Here again he was gonna fight against him and Higurashi intervened so he killed her. And last he was okay with the boiling sentence but Orochi went back on his words and changed it last minute. All he did was alleviate Oden's suffering by ending him faster because his body was dead.

idziman

Nah man, mad respect for Kaido. In the moment anything can happen, he took the opening and landed a massive blow. Then after realizing what happened, he took the action to make sure it would never happen again. It's very Katakuri-like when you think about it

Can Brook survive that long in boiling oil? You know, because he has no Skin yohohohohoho

2026-10-06 21:00 Can Carson stand in a hot tub and lift the BoldCats Bryden, Briar & Lindsay for one hour all while doing the podcast. If so I will no longer call Carson "Carson", but "Truckdaddy". (this is a joke, I already call Carson Truckdaddy)

People just want to do nothing but complain these days s/

It’s nothing like Katakuri lmao Kat would inflict that same wound on himself and resume the fight when Oden woke up or just give him a completely fresh duel once recovered. And that’s only if he respects the person, which in sure he would for Oden

idziman

Katakuri only inflicted the wound and carried on the fighting because he was able to. If that stab had ended the fight, Luffy's fate would have been left up to Big Mom. Katakuri would be left with preventing Flampe from ever interfering in his fights again, a choice made exactly by Kaido.

Interesting parallels between Loro and Chaden these past couple eps. Zoro would never accept dying by boiling. He'd never die to tribalistic ways. Zoro would never let someone of the same cloth as Toki get the last laugh. Anyway, I wonder what Enma's bounty will be after Wano
