Hi everyone! 🤗
I think every artist knows about times when you feel like there is no creativity inside of you. The harder you try to think of something to create, the harder it gets. This is why I wanted to give you a few small drawing prompts to get that creative flow going again! ✨
Exercise 1: Doodling ✏️
Fill a piece of paper with some random shapes with your brush pen.
Look at your page and find shapes or forms. Outline them and turn them into something recognizable (a creature, an object, etc.).
Exercise 2: Try out a new art medium 🎨
Choose an art medium you want to try, such as soft pastels, acrylic paint, watercolor paint, crayons, etc.
Choose one of your previous artworks
Try to reproduce it with your chosen art medium
For example, I made the Iceland sketch in my sketchbook and I reproduced it with gouache paint on a bigger piece of paper. Because I drew the picture before, I knew what I wanted to change and what I would leave the same!
Exercise 3: Nature Study 🌿
Go outside and find a plant or a small natural object (like a leaf or a rock).
Spend 10 minutes (set a timer) sketching it as accurately as possible. Focus on details, shading, and textures.

Post your illustrations from the drawing prompts in our group chat or in the comment section below. What kind of exercises get you out of an art block? 🤗
Happy drawing! Celyn 🌸
