Good morning everyone! ☀️

Here in the Netherlands, the summer holiday is almost starting. Last year I went to Italy for an Interrail trip for 2,5 weeks! We also went to Tuscany, one of my favourite areas in Italy! I love the houses and landscapes in this area! 🥰

The rolling hills, vineyards, and charming villages are very inspiring to draw. The rustic stone houses are so much fun to sketch. The light in Tuscany, especially during golden hour, makes the colours and textures pop, perfect for illustrating!

Yesterday I started drawing some references of Tuscany with a watercolour base layer. I loved to draw multiple similar references in one spread. I thought it would be a great way for you too to grow your drawing skills, this is why I added 5 similar references which will look great in one spread! I recommend using the same colour palette for all the references!

I used the van Gogh watercolour pads as a base layer:

Burnt Sienna (411) for the buildings

Olive Green (620) for the greenery

I used the Ecoline 374 brush pen for the building and paths.

To add some more details, I used the Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils:

Sanguine (188)

Juniper green (165)

Permanent green olive (167)

Dark indigo (157)

Final illustrations week 15

For last week's references, I finished the first 2! It was really fun to work with some different colours this time. Especially the Ecoline 381 pastel red brush pen colour! 🤗
