Like, I am genuinely really disgusted and upset about this episode.

Rocky

Uh oh

SauceyRed

I can’t remember what it could be

jessie H

Don’t lose your voice!

Rocky

Literally same😭

The Akimbo Knight

Maybe it has to do with the flashbacks but honestly that’s my best guess

EDHPlayer

My guess is it’s Viren’s confession EDIT: adding to this, it’s highly likely the part where he discusses the part where he hurts his wife for the spell ingredient

Joey Quixote

Oh this will be an interesting reaction. Viren's letter. Callum & Rayla (Edited: Completely forgot *that* bit. It's been a while since I watched Book 6.)

Vengerin

Next one is 'Moment of truth', is a very hard episode, I was sobbing a lot with it

BlueEyedRaven

I know which episode this is. Hang in there, kiddo.

Annieme

Oof, *hugs*. Yeah x.x

Eliteguard99

I legitimately forgot what even happens in this last 2 seasons with the exception of S7’s climax.

Eliteguard99

Just when you thought Viren couldn’t get any worse he’s an abusive spouse lol

A.B.

Oh boi...

Marisa Maribel

They really should have had a content warning, that’s a pretty bad oversight.

Joey Quixote

Yeah. I think i just forgot because my brain went "Viren's a piece of shit. Of course he did that."

Wolfan Terror

Really there's only one way to be disgusted

Dani

I know a moment that frustrated me but I dont remember if it was in that episode (I guess it was)

Ryan

Completely understandable, given the subject of the episode. What would have been the proper etiquette here? Just saying "trigger warning next episode" feels imprecise since there a variety of subjects that could cover. But specifying the subject might constitute a spoiler. And only saying, "trigger warning: Viren", while accurate, would not convey the seriousness of the matter...

O5-69

It's either the candy ball twist or Viren's letter and there's no in-between unless it's both

Hollyhock

I've never seen TDP, can anyone explain?

Ryan

There's a flashback of the villain committing domestic abuse to gather the ingredients necessary to cast a dark magic spell to cure his son's chronic respiratory illness.

Hollyhock

Oh dear, that's awful. Thanks for explaining!

Ryan

Yeah, it's a lot for a show aimed at a younger audience. It's not fully animated - it's done as a montage of drawings. I feel like that may have been a studio mandate to "soften" it enough to hit the hard PG rating the later seasons have.

Rye-Ah

I understand completely. Thankfully, the crew were wise enough to censor the heavier content by keeping it to non-graphic still images and plain language, but despite that it's still quite painful to watch. The character I'm sure you're talking about is a piece of work in this ep and I don't know a single person who doesn't hate them for their actions Take care of yourselves, everyone! TDP has always been a dark show, but this episode is darker than most

jack

I would have put trigger warning mention of domestic abuse. Even though it doesn’t show it it describes it in full pretty well and it’s a kids show. So depending on how the parents are raising there kids the topic of domestic or even abuse might not be the time for it yet.

seraineity

absolutely valid and i agree, the first time i watched it i didnt understand it but also didnt bother to pay much attention cuz it was viren and i couldnt stand him anymore but now its been much long and i get it now and am so disgusted

Jasmine King

A trigger warning never even crossed my mind, but I think you're right.

Phoenix_mercury

From other comments it's neither, it's Viren's abuse

Bug Catcher Jacky

...Which is revealed in the letter... So, its Viren's letter lol

Bug Catcher Jacky

Personally, I give trigger warnings for anything that might need it. Just a quick "Trigger Warning: Domestic Abuse" at the start would've sufficed

Bug Catcher Jacky

I looked ahead to the next episode and it looks safe. Other than your typical political drama, that is. In case anyone was wondering
