imo i didnt think claudia would go back to dark magic after seeing viren gone, but it was more bc of aaravos feeding into her anger smh but yea it does still piss me off like after all that hinting to her going on the good side

NatMcK7

Hey I recognize that Dragonology book! I had that and Wizardology, does anyone remember those?

NatMcK7

Also Elijah I love the shirt you're wearing! Where did you get it?? It's so cute i want one

Andy

If the next episode is the one I think it is (though I could be wrong), it makes me cry every time I watch it

ELIJAH WHAT HAPPENED TO MOSCO CLEANING YOUR DESK

Rain

You're killin me Elijah, it's not XADIA! Also Claudia never gave up dark magic just as a heads up. And that priest has been under aaravos control since Book 3.

Well, the super annoying & infuriating character Viren is finally gone... Claudia, you have now been promoted to lead super annoying & infuriating character. And yeah, Aaravos is a much better villain, cause he's not confused or trying to make himself out to be better than he is. He's not annoying. He knows how spiteful his actions are, and that's the point of him doing them.

I have this thought since I watched this episode time ago that Viren doesn't feel like a well written redemption, like Soren because he was never meant to be someone redeemed. It's not really a man that is broken, is more a man that he broke himself and always took the easy way, disregarding the consequences. Soren's illness is his mental excuse but he was already a practitioner of dark magic, he was always self serving and blaming others for things happening to him. He did it with Soren, blaming him for actions he did to his wife... He brushed death twice and reexperienced dipping his toes in black magic, he realized things he did but he didn't process them to try a real redemption attempt, falling again for using the easiest way. His end is a nice one, he thinking in the things he lost by his hand but too little to late and I think is on purpose.

Viren’s last act was to die so he could further his daughter’s incredibly sloppy villain arc.

The music as Sol Regem approaches actually reminds a bit of the choral cover of Adagio for Strings that plays over the opening of Homeworld. Similar circumstances, too... The lighting in the dungeon - Soren is standing in the dark, Viren is standing in a light beam. Interesting choice. Something I noticed - Viren can't say the incantation backwards. This is the only time we hear a dark magic incantation said forward. And I have a head canon about that. What if dark magic *is* a valid form of magic, but it is almost never used because you have to sacrifice part of yourself to use it. But because of the cost, it is the most powerful of the forms. Things come in threes. Viren's used dark magic that required a heart three times. And all three times, it was directly or indirectly to save Soren. I have more thoughts on this with respect to other last acts of sacrifice - mostly from She-Ra - but I have to get ready for work. ... What do you MEAN we're going to have to wait MONTHS to see Mosco clean your desk!?

Aaravos took the diamond and placed it in the staff to give to the first dark mage, centuries ago. Bro is a master at playing the long game

Not the jiggle wiggle!! Infinity Train has ruined them for me 😬

I am going to just say one thing about the next episode... keep mosco and Hamish on standby... you are going to need them... trust me on this

Enchanted_Echo

If you would like to know how Aaravos controlled that sunfire elf, 2 years ago during the attack on the sunfire kingdom when Viren was "captured" and held in front of the bright ball of light, his little bug pal Aaravos bit one of the sunfire elves to take control of the staff....that was that elf.

Idk if you’ve seen it yet, but sneak peeks have been released for TLOVM season 4 and mighty nein season 1, so those might be fun reactions!

Who would I pick? Well... Considering Runaan was willing to kill a CHILD and keep war going despite seeing the dragon prince is fine, it's a no brainer to me. One pair got trapped sacrificing their lives for an unborn egg, the other was willing to let a child die despite knowing better. Her parents all the way. Sorry about Ethari, of course, but c'mon. Also, funny to see Elijah just pissed no matter what xD I personally wish I could feel more for Viren's death scene as well. I am a sucker for sacrifices, love seeing them in stories so normally, this would hit my feels in the right spot. But Viren's just... Eh. I'm just glad he's gone. "And stay gone!". Sad, but Claudia's VA made me tear up more than Viren's actual death lol. Also, Elijah, idk if you'll read this but once you watch s7 I highly recommend watching the intro at least once! There's a small, but interesting detail changed that I thougjt was pretty cool.

SauceyRed

It's been so long, so I don't remember for sure, but I think I did tear up either somewhat or quite a bit at Viren's death, the way they framed it, the images of him and his family, then the end with him repeating "I am a servant." It just... it just kinda hits, even now watching it through Elijah's eyes I almost teared up, especially once Claudia's crying came.

SauceyRed

Wait what!? Hell yeah I gotta check those out!
