HOLY SHIT PERFECT TIMING I’m making myself food right now and now I have something I’ve been looking forward to, to watch!

Dreanner95

A few episodes ago Jester brought the Gentleman a certain steamy romance book she seemed to already know. The main character's name of that book was Oskar...

LikeCat

There is a thing about a certain character in E8 that people subtely... Or in some cases not so subtely (outright saying THE thing by name) in comments, usually in Youtube comments but I have seen it in some Patreon comment setions too. Look I get that we are exited about later stuff, but please don't do this (subtely or not)

NatMcK7

Oscar is the name of the male love interest in Tusk Love

SauceyRed

I can't believe she forgot that Oskar is the male main character in Tusk Love, in whichhe's Guinevere's love interest. Tsk tsk Elijah, tsk tsk.

Flufux

To answer you question: Oscar is the name of the male lead of the Tusk Love book Jester was a fan of.

Dreanner95

Also Zuala is Yasha's past love interest played by Aimee Carrero. Aimee actually played a prominent character in Campaign 3 and when it came to casting Zuala, Ashley thought of Aimee.

Dragon0921

8:20 - If/when they make an animated series on their 3rd campaign, Bell's Hells, Elijah's head is going to explode. I don't think there's a straight character in that group. lmao 19:28 - TECHNICALLY not the Dust of Deliciousness (tm), but definitely based on it! lol 24:20 - Oskar is the name of the male protagonist (who like Fjord is a half orc) in the romance/smut book "Tusk Love" that Jester bought for the Gentleman. I feel like this joke is going to go over a lot of people's heads since they didn't really talk about the book that much in the animated series, where as in the campaign it was a running gag. 32:22 - I can't believe this one went over your head, Elijah! He was talking about the Chroma Conclave, the 4 dragons who were the main antagonists of seasons 2 and 3 of LoVM! This taking place over 20 years later on a different continent it's not surprising that the guy got the name wrong. 36:15 - Based on the Sending Stone of D&D. Doesn't work exactly the same way, but since they're not using specific D&D stuff they can get away with bending the rules a bit. 41:15 - Though he looks a bit different, we saw this character VERY shortly once before...though not is THIS show. 😈 According to Sam we'll (hopefully) get season 2 before this year ends! Not to mention season 4 of Vox Machina which (again, hopefully) will be early this year as well!

Vexed Castle

Just so you know: Zuala, Yasha’s past lover, is voiced by Adora.🥰

Manuel Sabat

I'm so sorry but I was waiting for the blue flower in the beginning to start melting cuz I knew you were gonna EXPLODE!! 🤣🤣🤣

Dragon0921

In her defense I think Jester only mentioned his name once before and it happened so fast. lol

Joey Quixote

Another reaction that runs long because Elijah had to give us the gay-by-gay. 🤣

NatMcK7

It is Aimee Carerro name at the very top of the guest voices

Flufux

Oh, and when the guards were talking about four dragons, they were talking about the Chroma Conclave, as in the main villains of season 2 and 3 of Vox Machina. Also, this is not the first time you've seen the Traveler in the flesh. I won't say anything more, but you have definitely seen him before.

Cora Bedwell

yup it absolutely is She-Ra playing yasha's wife

SauceyRed

Yeah ik, the tsk tsk was me implying sarcasm. I totally get not remembering it when you're a reactor doing different shows every week and having a long gap between episodes.

SauceyRed

Oh my god I love the term "gay-by-gay" LMAO That fits so well

LikeCat

41:15 - Please. Don't

Dragon0921

not saying anymore than that.

FullmetalNinja25

Yasha's lover's name is Zuala (Not a spoiler as it's said in the Credits) and yes it was Aimee Carrero.

Aineyn

Hello there! :) I mentioned it once before but felt like bringing it up again: With Mighty Nein done (for now), if you still want to scratch that Critical Role itch, there's that game called Dispatch, it's being produced by Critical Role! It's very Telltale-like, episodic, would be great for streaming (I know you don't stream much gaming stuff, but I'm just saying, you could! Or you could just play it for your own personal enjoyment! :p )

David Johnson

The two guards are talking about the "Chroma Conclave" from Vox Machina. "So she does know him" she's obviously the one he hired to help with the ritual...the one the cat lady said stole his book. So that was *his* book she was using.

JENIRD

So the woman is named zuala and Amiee voices her !!!

LikeCat

*anything happening with Molly envolveing "his backstory"* (quotation marks because of reasons) - Me: I love and hate with what they are doing with him

Iron117Prime

I'm surprised you didn't catch the reference to the Chroma Conclave (the dragons from Vox Machina) when those two guards were talking, right as Jester was climbing the tower. Also, with Season 1 of Mighty Nein done, what's the next reaction? You gonna have another poll for that?

Suplee215

It was Aimee as Yasha's wife. Such a good voice actress. And has a habit of being sapphic for those with heterochromia

Marceline_mother

It's funny seeing Elijah asking who does Zuala's voice, when she has She-Ra all over her room

BlueEyedRaven

I'm also surprised she didn't catch seeing the Traveler in TLOVM as well.

bloodyshadow1

yasha's lover zuala was voiced by Aimee Carrero, she's been on the stream before, she played the main character in a show by ND Stevenson (who has also been on the show a few times) called She-Ra and the princesses of Power. Might you have heard of it

Solus

So, I'm about to do a hot take here, I do not like the way they drew Yasha for the series with that muscle build, she was way more attractive in the campaign, the exaggerated muscles that they gave Yasha for the animated series is too much, in my opinion, I know she is a barbarian class but if you look at her official art for the campaign while she has a very good build to her it's not real crazy looking, like how they drew her for the series, especially if you look at her lvl 17 and lvl 20 official art which are my favorites, she still looks strong and has a strong build to her but her muscles are not overly big and she still looks very attractive, just giving my thoughts. Also, great reaction 👍 Oh, just for clarification, this does not mean I don't like the series, I still enjoy watching it.

LikeCat

She reacted to it... That is how she knows the VA's name... Tbf her voice acting for Zuala is WAY different that for Adora.

jessie H

The need to watch the campaign, but also not wanting to get spoiled is so hard to ignore sometimes!

Chet Bliese

Aww... You already know about the Dust of Deliciousness? I've been coming up with ways to tease it being used for "that". Also, the fan name for Beau and Fjord's friendship in Bjreaus (pronounced Bros), so you nailed that too.

Not-So-Average-Fangirl

Yeah, definitely a hot take because in my opinion, I think she looks hot as fuck. The awesome combination of a super built muscular woman whose personality is so soft and feminine is amazing. We don't really get this kind of representation in shows or animation, so it's really cool to see.

LikeCat

Is why Ive been putting up watching C1 myself, but there are spoilers-ish in C3 which I need to watch to a cretain point to finish C2

LikeCat

The thing for me is A. She looks way more muscular than in her official artworks (it isnt a bad thing, just for us C watchers we need to get used to), but B. This look is gonna be such a jugstaposition for the type of character she is (besides Rageing barbarian) basically 85% of the time... Which you got a SMALL snippet into this episode

BakaSama

When it comes to the Traveler, ask yourself, in Critical Role, have we met any other red haired, mystical tricksters with a fondness for pornographic illustrations and of dubious trustworthiness?

ELS_Art

That voice you love… That’s Adora’s VA, Aimee Carrero. And Ashley’s soft voice is amazing.

bloodyshadow1

i was making a dumb joke. probably didnt translate well written

Joshua Persons

Well! Consider me pleasantly surprised that you already know about the Dust! And yeah, I had pretty much the same reaction. And that "Oskar" bit with Jester was a callback to Tusk Love, the book she gave to The Gentleman.

L Frances

The thing is, they seeded Caleb's selfishness well through this episode, and this season. He didn't *need* the book, but he's taking every potential lead on power he can get, like with the scroll at Pumat's shop. I believe he was legit going to go with Trent, if they hadn't been distracted. That's definitely gonna cause some friction in Season 2, along with all the other dark turns characters are making.

jessie H

I was spoiled on one thing, and I cannot wait for their relationship to blossom!

Solus

It's just my opinion nothing more, Yasha is my favorite character in the entire Mighty Nein campaign, I was even finally able to get an official statue of her which cost half paycheck and her small playable DnD figure as well. 👍 Anyway on a brighter note, love your content, keep it up and good luck with that animated series yaw are working on, hope it does well for ya. 👍

Lifa

So funny she didn't recognize her but tbh I wouldn't have either if I didn't know beforehand :D

Lifa

Can't wait to see the interactions of Yasha with the group! Since so much changed regarding her in comparison to the actual campaign I really hope they will "catch up" a bit on the missed scenes. I mean episode 1 already had very important expensive arms if you catch my drift.

Lifa

But you definitely should watch the campaign at least after they finished the show. The camapign is SO GOOD. Episode 1 already hooked me so hard but dont watch it yet if you dont want to get spoiled Yasha's interactions with the group. Yasha did meet them way earlier in the original campaign but because Ashley had to leave for work so frequently she was missing a lot so they tried a new angle in the series. So yeah. I bet they will show some of her interactions with the group in the next season to still incorporate them even if it is belated compared to the original. Kinda like 'Tracy' appeared way later in the original campaign but they put her in season 1 already because it just FIT. :D

Suplee215

They leaned heavy into the fanon idea of yasha as larger than life muscles wise i think. Sure it isnt canon but she is talked about thst way by both cast and fans before the show. Plus i wont be shocked if Ashley intended her to be bigger but was occupy with blindspot and stuff to fully get things through.

Mélanie Gravel

Zuala is Yasha's wife, so yes, Aimee Carrero plays her. :)

jessie H

As long as she charges 5 gold to carry, i'm good. I saw an animation for the fish market and I could not stop smiling. She's so cute and awkward!

og.monstr

This season has been great and all, very intense as a matter of fact, but I get the sense that it's pretty much all setup for S2. That's prolly going to be when the plot really kicks into high gear.

Ryan

(softly) "...and it was gay..." *ding* new meme! I *love* how much you go off on your Sapphic fangirling. There are reactions and then there are reactions. And your reactions are some of the best. Ten minutes on Yasha and her redhead. Your longest Sapphicking yet! At least, your longest one so far... I don't know what the Dust of Deliciousness was used for in the campaign, but given what I know about Laura... I'm putting my money on edible panties.

Roacher

19:05 "Dust of deliciousness"? Otherwise known as..... MSG? So, I guess in this universe. Pumat Sol invented MSG. 😁😁

LikeCat

The fucking fish market... Travis mentioned an OFF TOPIC (-ish) line ONCE and that is the end result... Im not compleaning it is an excelent scene

jessie H

Yes. Yes it is

Katy ✨

Now try to imagine Yasha's soft voice coming out of Ashley Johnson in a "daddy" bowling shirt and you basically get the sapphic panic of the entire campaign.

Katy ✨

I don't know if it was just my imagination but she looked a little softer in the animation in that short period she was free from mind control so I wonder if the whole more exagerated muscles was a way to portray raging.

Solus

I won't lie, it could have been just the angle that they portrayed her in with her gf when they first showed them together, it's just for me and this is just my opinion and view on the matter, I prefer how she was described from the campaign nothing more.

linnic

Can’t wait for her to realize that Zuala was actually voiced by Aimee 😅

IAmDeltaS

As someone who watched the campaign, I fully agree. I was super disappointed with a lot of the official campaign art for Yasha because she never felt like she looked buff enough so I was absolutely *delighted* to see that in the animated series, she looked very muscular and big! It makes more sense to me too since in the campaign she comes off as intimidating without meaning to which makes sense with her having a larger build. Also, she's hot as fuck.

AJ

Yasha is the definition "Brick Shithouse!" 🥰

Zoe

I remembered you mentioned watching campaign 3, so I figured I’d put this out there - some of the later episodes of campaign 3 have MAJOR spoilers for both vox machina and mighty nein. If you want to avoid that, I might recommend watching campaign 4, since it’s ongoing and set in an entirely new world.

LikeCat

From what I gathered it starts to have MAJOR spoilers for VM around 31 and late 40s/ early 50s for MN

Rixec2

Zuala, voiced by Aimee Carrero, was Yasha's partner. And yes, as someone who watched the campaign, I also know precisely what moment they set that scene up for. >D

Syrelis

Rewatching Vox Machina......if you've watched Mighty Nein all the way through, go back and watch VM S3E7, the part with Anna's backstory, there is someone familiar there.....

fireballbap

yasha comparison to blake this is my agenda
