SauceyRed

LET’S FUCKING GOOO!!! I’m omw to the store rn but I’m SO hyped to get home for this!

SharkMessiah101

Fun fact, Pavi means pure and holy while Nisha means dark or darkness. Though many think this is a red herring and Pavi is Vaatu with Nisha being Raava though that’s just a theory for now.

Suplee215

At first I was thinking one is raava and one is vaatu. But what if they are both both? Raava and Vaatu are one of the many symbolism in the world for yin and yang. The Avatar has always had only Rava in them but they are suppoed to bring balance to the world. Between the different elements but also between the spirits and humans and everything. So my prediction is during a battle against the reincarnation of Unalaq/vaatu (who doesnt exist in canon yet, just part of my theory is one does as itll fit the timeline of an older Korra) she somehow linked the 2 spirits tkgether so they always reincarinate at once. As the only way to keep vaatu in check.

I saw a theory that the cataclysm was caused by the planet's chakra's getting blocked (like the ones the guru in AtLA was teaching Aang about) as a result of people messing with the spirit portals like we see in the Korra comics and that the seven havens are build on the "chakra points" in the world. The Earth Chakra is based on survival (the season's title) and is blocked by fear, while Pavi and Nisha are Earth Avatars in the cycle. Considering how freaked out/terrified the commander dude is after being faced with the Evil Diamond (which emerged from the city itself), I'm thinking it might be some sort of manifestation of the planet's blocked Earth Chakra, like a planetary immune response. I was further thinking that it might have gotten activated because of both Pavi and Nisha being nearby. Since the Avatar is supposed to bring balance to the world and Evil Diamond didn't hurt them when it interacted with them, I'm thinking it might have been the planet's attempt to reach out and ask for help/try to show them what the problem is.

Dark Danny

It's funny they made Pavi like Aang and Nisha like Korra and i love it

SauceyRed

Okay now I'm ready. Got my chimken nuggies, chips with dip, and a donut and some ice cream available if I feel like it.

Taigan

The fact that one has a black catmonkey and the other has a white one certainly seems like they want us to think that, whether it’s true or not.

Dark Danny

People keep saying Nisha is Vaatu but i think it's a misdirect and Pavi will have Vaatu

Dezwolf86

Just commenting to say, the red lotus symbol is different then the city's shape, I like the theory, just pointing out that difference

SauceyRed

I thought the same while watching episode 3, it's awesome lmao

SharkMessiah101

Yeah I personally believe Pavi is Vaatu mainly due to Vaatu being more spiritual in nature compared to Raava who (yes I know she cared for spirits) was more tied to the earthly plains. Plus the Diamond creature attacks Nashi and only get calm when Pavi arrived

Raine

Oh, I love that theory! It is quite clear that there is at least some relation to the chakras here, and if that theory is true I think it would be amazing and explain a lot.

Skipp

Pavi is certainly more carefree and chaotic. Nisha feels to pull to protect. I think you may be right.

L Frances

I can't say I agree on the Red Lotus stuff at all, cause the Red Lotus was very pro-chaos, and the Seven Havens, and certainly Ellora, seem much more bent on confining order. It's an interesting theory, but I don't think it totally bears out.

KylarStern1995

Just watched 1 and 2 back to back. The whole thing seems to be indicating that Vatuu and Rava are both back and bound to the two avatars. Who is who is a little unclear as the varied personalities of past avatars show that the spirits may not impact their personality to much. Could be a red herring but who knows. The red spirit thing could be a servant of vatuu coming to inform their master of whatever is coming. The information the fire commander guy tried to convey "its coming" bit the spirit overwhelmed him. Vatuu like Rava is a supreme spirit it makes sense that being gone in a reincarnation cycle may have consequences from him not doing his job. (Using he for vatuu and she for rava based on the voices in Korra)

TiroOnaka

Throwing this out there: when Korra defeated Unavaatu she also absorbed Vaatu, which means she would be the host to both spirits. I think its possible that that amount of power caused some kind of overload within her so when she died she didn't just restart Raava's Avatar cycle but also Vaatu's.

Liam Gradwell

Best of both worlds of the Avatarverse.

Liam Gradwell

It does get you thinking about where this show is going to go. The theories are endless with this. 🤩

Catradora fan

Not a single character has called the red energy a spirit either 🤔

MerlinFerlin

The favorite moment between Pavi & Nisha so far is this: 7:58 in the video. Pavi (Whispering): "I don't want any attention from the Brigade." Nisha (Shouting): "EVERYONE IS PREPARING FOR THE FESTIVAL!"

supersoaker

Is it bad that I find all the korra slander funny?

Enchanted_Echo

That't the theory I've heard been going around to and yeah, it does seem like to be the case

Enchanted_Echo

Jae = Golden Retriever energy who also is a Sokka decedent for their personality Pavi = Aang who has the sprit of Raava Nisha = Korra who has the sprit of Vaatu Karthik = Korra's Uncle (IMO) because......yeah something about him I just don't trust just like you...... It's also really sad with how much Aang tried to preserve his culture and Tenzin doing his best to uphold it and now here in present day........all of it is pretty much all gone, not even the air bender tattoos are in existent.

Enchanted_Echo

Me too, there was a short clip on it played over with the show with a quote from the guy training Aang and how the EARTH chakra is about fear and the way to overcome it is to SURVIVE (the book's title name)

Borealis

The root chakra is also represented in a lot of charts as having four points, like a diamond.

jessie H

I’d be okay with that. I don’t think Raava or Vaatu have much of an influence over who they are in

SharkMessiah101

There have been a lot of Avatars with different personalities. Look at Aang and Kioshi. Plus it seems they’re both still reincarnations of Avatar Wan it’s just the soul was split into two people. To add on, I don’t think Raava and Vaatu are inherently good and evil. Their two sides of a coin, Raava (while caring for the spirits too) was more Earthly bound while Vaatu is more spiritually bound. They have their positive and negative impacts on nature just like how the Moon and Ocean are bound. One isn’t inherently evil and the other isn’t inherently good.

BGTitan

Seeing as Asami is my favorite character, having that flash of Future Industries was like O.O! I miss my girl! But also, interesting that they showed that amongst the twins flashes? Is there some timey wimey shenanigans at play here? Saw someone theorize that Ellora and all of the Havens are actually inside the Spirit World and they've been cut off from the Human Realm. I think that would be interesting. Don't know how well that theory would hold up in practice but.... We really are just flying blind here. We've got two Avatars. Anything is possible.

Jared Bichler

20:57 The Tree! Elijah, you genius! Pavi and Nisha can learn anything about history at the Tree of Time!

Jared Bichler

If you're right about the chaos and harmony spirits being split between the twins, it may mean every Avatar henceforth will be forced to kill their dark twin.

Kyle Hennett

Please 🙏 stop saying red lotus. The design is not the red lotus symbol so please stop. The 7 Havens are the last 7 bastions of Humanity left after the calamity. The Red lotus kind of die out in LOK after their defeat. Also they believe in a world of freedom from the avatar and are often seen as chaotic. I very seriously doubt they would be behind the Calamity or the restructure of events of Korra’s currently unknown actions. Until this show reveals what exactly happened and how involved Korra was in events before, during, and after the Calamity defending her or cursing her is very much in the air of going either direction.

Angelus Lupus

I know I'm late, but that does beg the question: What happened to all the spirits living in the world after the portals were opened?
