Concept Art 015: The Universal Reset (Patreon)

These are the concept art that gave birth to the idea for Iblis Requiem's form and also a glance at how I imagine the end of the world scenario to look like in its starting ceremony.

One fun fact is that the end of the world is not instantaneous, it takes around maybe one month max to finalize... that is if you are on Arcadia. Since the Eyes of Uriin Dod Jivana are basically Black holes, their combined massive gravity and energy deform time and space creating time dilation which makes Arcadians feel like it's taking forever to end while the outside universe would actually feel it in a blim, around maybe 7 seconds. The reason for this is that I needed time for Adonai to breathe as the main character in this final arc and be able to convince the party to trust him so they can get Asher back, there is a feeling of urgency but you also have enough time to do all you gotta do in this final arc without feeling unjustified by the lore or the story, at least that was my intention.

Another thing is that the Arcadia night has become permanent, this is a concept I have been thinking about for a while, it is that the Arcadia nights are gradually becoming more constant since Asher saved lena and interrupted the cycle, something like the nights getting longer or just the Arcadia night happening more often until it becomes eternal in the Universal Reset ceremony. This concept might have been inspired by the initial unused concepts for Final Fantasy 15, I think the world of Ruin was an interesting concept that was a bit wasted and went nowhere. So That would be why the title of the project is Arcadia Nights, it starts with one night, that due to Asher's actions, turn into many nights of suffering and destruction until it becomes an eternal night,  the death of the universe.
