The alien you see in the beginning court room scene is called a Vree, they're extremely mischievous practical jokers. They find it incredibly funny that their routine planetary surveys had such an impact on Earth culture, not only do they look like the classic aliens but they also have saucer shaped ships as well.

I’m not 100% sure if I dreamt this or actually read it somewhere, but something in my head tells me that this was the very first acting role of the actor who played Jinxo. With that in mind, I think he did pretty all right. 🤓 David Warner is pure class!

I can't really comment on the episode. To me me this was one of the Grail/King Arthur-coded episodes, seemingly every 90s show needed for some reason. Sure, the lore bits were nice, but overall pretty meh. Anyways, I really really like your theory-crafting bits. More than the one you did for any of the other shows, and I can't wait for Babylon 5 to answer some of your questions.

Ivanovas Boom statement became an often quoted statement by B5 Fandom, lol. Regarding the statement that there is only the Religious caste and the Military caste, that statement is clarified into 3 castes shortly, as there is a Worker caste as well. The question is: was it a script discrepancy or was it the arrogance of a "higher" caste (officially all 3 are equal) ignoring the relevance of the lower caste?

In an earlier version of the story, it was indeed Kosh who appeared out of nowhere and scragged the Feeder, saying, "Some things we do not allow," but it seemed kinda un-Kosh-like on one level, and it repeated the Deathwalker finish, so it was dropped. This episode features the series' first CGI alien. The transport Marie Celeste, which Thomas boarded at the end of the episode, is a reference to a sailing ship found adrift on the sea in 1872 by the crew of the ship Dei Gratia. The Celeste's crew was missing, as was her single lifeboat, but there were half-eaten meals in the mess hall and other evidence the crew had left suddenly. Investigators found that Captain Morehouse of the Dei Gratia had dined with Captain Briggs of the Celeste the night before departure, and Morehouse and his crew were tried for murder. There was no hard evidence, and they were acquitted. The missing crewmen were never found. JMS speaks: The human won the case, but damages awarded were minimal. The hardest part is always writing Kosh, because you have to be very careful how much you use him, and what he says. Too much and he loses his sense of mystery, and you don't want him spouting fortune- cookie type aphorisms. He has a very deliberate way of speaking in which everything, every smallest nuance and inflection means something, but sometimes not what it appears to mean, or comes at it from a very different angle than normal conversation. So I go as minimalist as possible, to get the meaning down to the smallest number of words possible. And in one scene, one of only two he appears in, I got him down to *one word*, and that one word -- and it's a totally inoffensive, neutral word on its own terms -- should scare the hell out of *everybody*.

Garibaldi: You think he's genuine. Sinclair: Aldous? Yes. Question is: a genuine what? One man's lunatic is another's true seeker. Garibaldi: You have been hanging around Delenn too much. I like where they took the Minbari in this episode. Showing that they have genuine reverence for spiritual figures regardless of where they are from. And then definitely laying on some notable hints in the direction of Sinclair.

It’s a fun episode, rounding out some characters, but overall I saw it as filler. There are aspects of the overarching storyline you get glimpses of in some episodes, and as we go on you become desperate for a little more of it. Much akin to the feeder in this, we are hungry for something more nourishing 😂

i didn't think Delenn looked at Sinclair. He was off screen. I thought she was looking at the casket. I've never even considered she could have been looking at anything else.
