Glad to be able to rewatch tis show with you! :) Have to say that Castlevania is a very long and quite old series of games - it debuted in September of 1986 on Famicom. And it is a reason for a whole game genre (alongside with Metroid game series) - Metroidvania - where you play a standard platformer game but every time that you gain a new ability, you could go back into prebious levels to explore with your new traversal abilitites for easter eggs and secrets. P.S. So, technically, you started your reaction series right at the time of this game series 40th anniversary ;)

lowkey wish I hadn't watched this in the reaction supercut but I'm happy to see it's finally underway. looking forward to the rest! also, speaking of the rest: any chance anyone has told you about Castlevania: Nocturne? it's technically a sequel to this, but IMO it feels more like a 5th and 6th season. It's a bit early to think of now, but since you have the juggle of Death Note and MHA on your plate after this, if it's not on your radar yet I thought it might be good to put in the periphery before all the talk about it happens during the s4 reactions 😅 have fun! this is a great show

Castlevania has been a videogame name since its first release on the Nintendo Famicom in 1986. I haven't personally played any of the games, but I have heard good things about it. As first time watching I think this is pretty good and will be watching more of it.

Like other people have mentioned, Castlevania first debuted on Nintendo in the 80s. I did want to point out though that the plot of the first two seasons of this show largely draw upon Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse specifically. (released in 1989 on the NES) In particular with Alucard, who was a playable character in that. And there's a couple other characters in this show that you'll meet that were ripped right from that game. One of which is that guy in the bar at the end who's nervous when the fat guy mentions the name Belmont.
