I seem to be on top of things, which puts me in a weird scheduling situation going forward. The most recent TLS build (open to all patrons!) has the postgame near complete, and last week I posted the last of my future projects series. These are both things I've been looking toward for a while.

I'm sure some people will be thinking about version 1.0.0 and the big launch, but it's too early for that in multiple senses. The postgame isn't finished, other players are still flush with games from the summer sale, and I don't want to burn out. More about this after the postgame update is actually finished and public.

There are multiple things in progress that could potentially be exciting... or might not be. =/ If I talked about all the maybes that have passed over the years, these updates would end up disappointing. I guess all I'll say now is that I'm trying to keep working toward my future career whenever I have time between updates.

What else... would you guys want an option to buy my games through Patreon? Patreon is pushing this option hard lately, which I mostly ignore, but if people think it would be convenient for some hypothetical players, I could set up some pages for my completed games. In theory it would be a way to get standalone versions of my game without me needing to send links.

I remember coming across your novel Ironhide while searching for your old posts. I think putting all those finished projects up for sale on Patreon has the added bonus of bringing more eyes to it.

Edward Culham

I do think that is a good idea, as there are games out there that have been in devolopment that would not mind supporting with a one time payment; but have not been what I would support over the many years like I have with TLS.

AchtungNight

TBH, I’m waiting for the finished product of TLS before I do any more serious play of it and staying a member here to keep up with your progress. The other projects don’t interest me much. I am probably minority though. I’ll get the finished game when it’s done. I have gotten some other creators’ stuff through Patreon, maybe it could work out for you. [ shrug] At the least it would probably give you more advertisement.

An_Insane_Rogue_AI

While I've already played your other games, if the option to buy them throughout Patreon had been available at the time I probably would have

Atashkada

Having the game available via Patreon would certainly be a good option, especially since adult games on Steam are already a bit complicated for Germans and other platforms have taken similar steps re: locking out rather than implementing strict age verification.

Johnbowethejoker

I'd totally buy the games through patreon if it's a more favorable cut than steam's 30% or whatever it's at right now.

AchtungNight

Oh yeah, if more idiots are going to block adult game sales, market expansion is a great idea.

Buying games through patreon feels weird to me. If I'm on Patreon it is to support a creator, which I will probably continue to do so long as whatever they are creating is of sufficient interest to me. It's not really a store....

sierralee

Not a store, but Patreon seems to want it to be. =/ In any case, this wouldn't be a feature for current patrons, it would be for people who hypothetically want my games but don't like subscriptions.

I don't know if you've gotten reports of this before, but this is my first time finally checking out the postgame content, and I've been trying to check out everything. I took a look at the brothel in the former slums of Stineford, and talked to all the prostitutes there to see how their fortunes had changed, but I found that they still have their old dialogue, which includes being able to view sex scenes unchanged from when they were first available in Chapter 1. This gets into continuity-breaking territory for some of them, because they feature internal narration of dialogue which references Aka's circumstances as a new member of Simon's harem, and where she even appears in her pre-transformation form. I don't know what if anything you want to do with the brothel in the postgame, but as much as its continued presence in the new Stineford is a blast from the past, I'm guessing it's probably not meant to take it to that extent.

Dubsington

Bleah. If it doesn't have any undue cost to you (i.e. isn't overly painful to set up) then what the hell, another sales vector. I see why you are asking though, it smells like one of those things that will eat a half a day to get going and generate very little revenue.

Annikath

I second that being able to buy adult games through patreon would be a great alternative for people like me, in Germany 😄✨️

sierralee

This is the first report! Which makes me nervous, because I'd hope not to be seeing serious errors like this so far into development of this build. The issue is that the player was never meant to go back to that map; there's an alternate version of the brothel if the player hits the threshold for it. But the door into the building was never updated. -_-

Desertopa

I can only check for stuff accessible given the state of my save file, so I can't be sure of catching everything, but I'm trying to be thorough and check everything, so I'll let you know if I run into anything else before I'm done.

sierralee

Plenty of people looking at the game files missed this, so I think the only solution is more eyes on the project. Please enjoy the postgame, but if you notice anything that seems entirely out of date, it is probably an error like this, where the specific combination hasn't come up yet.

Annikath

Yes, itch.io does work! :> but I think, at least from my perspective, it is less well known than patreon. But then again, I'm not the average gamer, so maybe that's wrong 😅

Nicolasa

I would say unless there is a particular downside to selling the game through patreon like they take a huge cut of the profits or something it's probably better to have it available wherever you can just in case it gets forcibly removed from other platforms. That's unfortunately a real concern with nsfw media.

sierralee

Only downside is time used setting things up. While you're right about the risk of NSFW content, I'm afraid that Patreon is probably one of the higher risk sites!

Don G

Giving people options is generally a good idea, IMO.
