June 10 Update (Patreon)

Looking at the date of last release relative to the size of 0.35.0, I guess I'm not doing so bad. I hope it will be out on Friday and that everyone will enjoy it, but cannot promise either at this stage.

I want to just hide and write, but stuff keeps coming up. For example, I wanted to have a custom faceset edit for the update, but my usual guy has been AWOL for three weeks. Keeping moving overall, though.

In good but tiring news, a big YouTuber has started a play of Crimson Gray:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4b5pA6iZcM

Hopefully it will get enough views for him to continue and maybe for my work to draw more attention overall. Regardless, hope to have more content for everyone soon.

Hope so too - that video's gotten 105K views within one day. I looked at his previous videos and it's compares well ratio-wise, so...hopefully good news is on the way.

Best case scenario, other YouTubers in the same social circle will be more likely to play it and I can get a beneficial cycle started. I sent out a ton of keys before, but we'll see. At minimum, it's had a positive effect on sales. Not as much as a Steam sale, but bigger than any other boost I've seen.

For the benefit of anyone who might click the link, let me say that YouTube guy is tolerable once he actually starts playing, as opposed to when he's doing the standard "WHAT UP IT'S YA BOI" YouTuber intro. Not sure how he'll handle Lizzie eventually trying to get into John's pants if he won't even say 'naughty' words, and he also has a similar problem to the last guy where he stumbles on moderate-difficulty vocabulary like "demurely." Hopefully it should be a net positive though. He seems to like the game so far.

Haha, I don't know how people have been optimizing, but this update is the first time this chapter when I'm trying to give the player hard choices.

The comments.... oh my god the comments. It's like three hundred people got together and did a choreographed forum dance with the sole goal of reinforcing every negative stereotype about youtube commenters.

I suspect the hours I spent debating what type of grass and flowers I wanted for my base will have been a much harder choice then anything you can through at us.

That would be great, especially for those that took the time to change there settings. One thing that I would like to see with the base is the ability to change the outside courtyard stone. Want it to match my current stone inside that is black. Secondly; the second is that the stars are hard to see on the light grey training ground.

Ah, thanks for informing me! One of the benefits of having someone as big as BijuuMike play the game is the probability of other streamers noticing. I'm glad to see we got somebody in the hundred thousands range. Big YouTubers covering the game are kind of a double-edged sword, though. I'm glad I have work to distract me...

Well, it's basically just that the biggest YouTubers' audiences are not necessarily people I would consider the target audience for a game like Crimson Gray. That's a net positive, but it's something I have to work through.
