Hey, I'm curious. Are you actually investing in a PSVR2? It's always hard to gauge the general interest in VR. Some of it feels like it's coming from VR owners who want to see more games, but a lot of it seems like it comes from people who just like to watch weird VR coverage but are maybe cold on the whole concept.

On top of that, I just don't feel like I'm seeing much chatter about the new headset out there, and msot of what I'm seeing is along the lines of "that thing is too expensive, are they crazy?"

So lemme know, are you taking the plunge on one of these things or what?

DK

Got an original Vive

Tots

I have a PSVR and a Quest 2 that I don't use. I can't keep acting like I'm going to do VR.

Windir2112

Don’t have a PS5 and wouldn’t get one even if I did. I’ve played all big VR titles on Quest 2 or linking it to my PC, nothing convinced me that VR is the future. If I’m totally honest my headset has become a NSFW machine now.

Doug Parks

I owned a PSVR but it mostly sat in a drawer collecting dust. I’ll consider a PSVR2 if they release a few killer apps - but I doubt they will tbh

Matthew Bright

I'm trying not to. I have a Quest 2 and a PC so there's little reason but it's new and shiny.

Randy

Not enough actual games that haven’t been released elsewhere to justify the $550 cost

Derek Tam

No...but this is the first headset that's actually making me curious about VR...and then made me realize that all of the weird/good stuff is on PC...

Adam579

I'd vote "I'm not sure yet"

Paul Douglas

I’m interested in the technology and the device, but yeah for me it’s too expensive. I would love to get it and play Gran Turismo 7 in VR, but for mostly just that it is way too much money. If it was usable with a PC or standalone as well it might be a different story. But for just PS5? Waiting for a price cut at the very least.

Peter T

I have an Index and PS offers nothing new of interest enough to invest in PSVR2. I would love if they did though. I enjoy VR a bunch and would welcome more to do.

Mark Dell

Got the PSVR2 today and the Quest Pro. I'm super excited that people are still trying VR!

Zachary Atticus Turner

I voted No but wanted to add a caveat which is, I'm literally looking for any excuse to get one, but the software lineup seems just so so weak. Maybe this Sony direct thing tomorrow will convince me? Also would love a Beat Saber release date

Peter T

Jesus. That’s my old Patreon account name and it needs to go away since that show has been dead for years. Woof.

Matthew Feuer

I was thinking about getting one, but it's too darn expensive and I know I'd end up neglecting it pretty soon.

Tucker Raccoon

No but I'm hyped for when HDR and eye tracking/(real) foveated rendering comes to a PC headset

blackheartJV

VR gaming is just something I will never be into.

Chris Mate

Voted no, but it's something I'm still keeping an eye on. I havent had as much time with vr so there is still a novelty to it for me. The lack of that killer app is what it would take for me to pull the trigger. Half Life Alyx is what I'm hoping for, but also recognize the reasons you listed for why it's unlikely.

Parallax Abstraction

I did not and am not interested in it as long as it's locked to PS5. But my Windows Mixed Reality headset got its cable chewed up by my dog last year and I can't get a replacement. If Sony ever makes this work with SteamVR, I'll get one then because it looks like killer hardware.

CamGearz

If I owned a PS5, I wouldn't have the space investment nor do I feel VR has a "killer app" that pushes people to say "this is the shit you must have that's gonna be a game changer". After trying a Quest at a friend's house, I know my whole equilibrium and noggin is just not suited for it.

Henry Coates

Really not interested in VR content at all. The conversation around it has been pretty much the same for over six years now, “the tech is amazing, but most of the games aren’t there yet.” So yea, I’m not going to be picking one of these up.

Nathan H.

Nope - I tried a Vive once and that was plenty. I'm out on VR as a concept

Jason Dulong

No. I appreciate the plug and play aspect of it, but I cannot imagine buying a VR headset that won't allow me to connect to a PC. There are so many fun and weird games and experiences on PC for VR that will NEVER make their way to PSVR. It's a deal breaker for me.

Ryan Loring

Never even tried a VR headset since I get motion sick, I would get it if it was $300 and resident evil 7 was playable also, not just 8

zombiemodem

I have a HTC Vive that I haven't touched for at least two years. Really only played BestSaber and Superhot

Blake Hess

I got a PSVR2 but am out of town and won't be able to use it for a week or so. Last year I got a super fancy direct drive wheel and I'm unbelievably stoaked to play GT7 in VR. Eye-tracked Rez sounds really cool too and I'm excited to play RE:Village for the first time in VR. Horizon doesn't really interest me at all. I bought an original Rift at launch back in 2016 and own a Quest 2 but my 2080 equipped PC just does not want to give me a stable experience on the Quest.

David Allen

Look it's cool and I'd probably consider it at half that price, but the value proposition right now is completely insane. I might (might) spend that much money on a dedicated PCVR headset but for Playstation only it simply isn't going to happen.

Rhett Woody

I have an original Rift and an original Quest. I had some pretty fun times with VR in the past, but I haven’t touched either headset in years. VR in general just isn’t interesting to me at this point. It may get there again, but I’m not actually sure what it’ll take to get me back in.

Gob

I sold my PS5 and Xbox and simplified to just having a PC with killer OLED monitors and got a Steam Deck as well. I had a PSVR for awhile a few years ago and enjoyed what I played at the time. If PSVR2 ever becomes compatible with PC and its games are ported then I will definitely be tempted.

BEEFCAKE

I don’t see a point in even getting a ps5 if they’re just porting everything to pc eventually🤷🏻‍♂️ I’m in no rush

Jercyan

I chose no for now. it is a big maybe so let's see if they're still making games for it by 2025 and I'll drop the $550

Juno

Maybe when they are more games? Maybe??

JB

I have a PSVR1 and Quest1 (also had a Google Daydream). At this point my living room where the PS5 lives is too small for VR. So the Quest with link cable to my PC in my office is more ideal for a VR setup. But I've also very much cooled on the whole thing. Still very few "killer apps" overall, across all VR platforms.

Eder Causor

I'll wait for a price drop like I did with PS VR. I have a Quest 2 that mostly collects dust but I enjoy the novelty of VR even thought it gives me motion sickness.

James Olguin

I have a quest 2 that sits in my closet. Steam deck has been the best purchase I’ve made in a long time for gaming.

Zeke Floyd

As a PC player I got a quest 2 a couple years ago that now sees almost no use, I simply do not have the space to have a good experience with it in my apartment, that and the promise of vr opposed to the delivery so far leave me very lukewarm to the whole vr thing.

Craig Parker

Was a maybe before my car got stolen last month, plus I got my index already

Chloe

I really liked PSVR1 but I still have games on it I want to get to. If I'm going to spend a ton of money in the near future on hardware it's going to be an Xbox Series X when Starfield comes out.

Rob S

+1 for having a Quest 2 that I never use.

RadleyDuder

I'm looking to develop for VR at some point, and that industry's progression relies on selling training and modeling and such for businesses, suckering people into investing in their metaverse real estate, nft etc nonsense, and video games. I'm interested because if Sony can put money and marketing power behind some good AAA experiences that get people excited and interested in VR, that's awesome for the industry as a whole. That said, I don't have a PS5, and there isn't a game at the moment that makes me wanna pay for one, let alone a game, PS5 and headset. It'd be nice to see someone like you covering it, but only if there's talk that it might be worthwhile. There's also the entertainment factor to consider, of course, might make good content regardless of all that

Minky

Fell off the VR wagon a while ago. I had a CV1/Vive/Quest, but there's very little new content that makes the setup or price worthwhile. I actually joined Firesprite recently, and would love to play through Horizon Call of the Mountain for myself, but I can't justify shelling out half a grand for yet another headset.

Jeffrey Lam

My dude, this motherfucker he don't even have a PS5! And even if I had one, I wouldn't get the PSVR.

Corvak

$750 canadian is a bunch of dang money, if it could use SteamVR too I might be swayed.

Will Hackworth

I have a PSVR1 and enjoyed my time with it, but felt that even it was expensive when I bought it, and haven't touched it in a few years PSVR2 is 3x the price on top of the cost of a PS5, AND it doesn't play the VR1 games I already own? In this economy? Pass.

Cheyenne

I'd love to play gran turismo VR but it's not worth the money for me. I have a Quest 2 that I like well enough but I don't think I'm going to get another headset until a good alternative for PC with inside out tracking (Deckard probably?) comes out.

Nicholas Sieffert

There are a few games that my kid (8 years old wanted) she asked for a quest but I refuse to buy anything meta and wanted a more closed platform for her gaming The price is way too steep don't think anyone without the means needed this. Especially not with the limited amount of games. It's very odd that Sony is not porting all their first party psvr1 games over to pad the lineup for newcomers. Really hoping the porting from quest to psvr2 is easy and then I think it will pay off when I see more games even if they are old.

Adam Small

I love seeing the coverage just to see how the space is progressing, but there’s no way I would buy one for myself at this point

grizzlebrand

I was interested until the lack of psvr back compat combined with the unlikelihood that it will be compatible with the PC. I'd like to be able to play Alyx, Beat Saber customs, and the RE VR modes with one headset. The ecosystems are too fractured to feel good about jumping in to any of them.

Ricktor_Black

No, but I am interested in it and really want one. I think I'll own one before the end of the year.

Jeremy Barrett

I would highly consider it if it were like, half the price. At $550 without a game, I can’t justify investing that kind of money in something I don’t even know I’d use all that much. It’s the same plight I’ve had with VR in general — I want to try because it seems rad as hell but I’m easily motion sick and don’t want to drop several hundreds of dollars on a device only to find out I don’t like it or can’t really use it effectively

Kyle Zeppeli

I have a Windows Mixed Reality headset which I've really enjoyed in the past, but I haven't taken it out to use it in probably 2 years. There's something about locking yourself away in a headset that feels like too big of a step. Almost like diving in too deep? Needless to say of the financial investment. I'm still gaming on a 1060 and a PS4. Totally content living in the past at 1080p and working on my backlog of games. I can afford to upgrade, but don't feel the need with so many options.

Clay Roberts

I pre-ordered it and forgot I did and now it’s sitting in my living room in the box. Debating whether to return it. I enjoyed RE7 on PSVR1 a lot so I’ll prob play RE8 on PSVR2. I just don’t see a killer app for it.

Jefff

Still rockin a Vive. 😎

Aaron Mace

I feel like they’re sending these out to everyone possible to get good coverage, but ultimately it comes down to it being $500+. I have Quest 2, which is still doing fine for any VR needs I have. One cool Horizon game is not enough to make me even ponder getting one.

nitind

No, but I will in maybe a year or so after more titles are out.

Sophie

I have a ps5 and have 0 interest in psvr2 so far. I have an Index with my pc and despite having the space for it and everything it hardly gets used. There just aren't that many games that are worth the hassle, and nothing sony has announced so far even slightly interests me.

Iron Arse Hands

Still feels like VR games are largely in the mold of experiences and there's not enough big games like HL Alyx (or any sign of Alyx on PSVR2). Agree that without the ability to connect PSVR2 to a PC for that 'edge' (porn again being the litmus test for viability in multimedia), PSVR2 may become just another Vita-like albatross for PlayStation.

ItsTheHutch

Not anytime soon, though I’m super interested in it. The games just aren’t there yet to justify it for me.

Sean

Man i just don’t care about Vr

Bryan Wade

I might pick one up when it costs less than the console it plugs into.

Evan Buck

Too expensive, not enough interesting games for me I think.

Jacob Nasrallah

I have Vive Gen 1 with Index Knuckles so no buy for me.

Andrew Fish Booth

Both the release version and the devkit one that's been eating up space. Still hate how my hands are juuuust a little too big for the controllers where they are uncomfortable

WackyDelly

Coverage has got me thinking, maybe. Probably see what the quest 3 ends up looking like.

imprison bobby kotick

Definitely still on the edge. The big issue for me is that PS5 digital games are crazy expensive in Australia. On top of the $1k for the head with Horizon. Weirdly, I can justify the $1k, but less so $100 games.

Charles Maxwell

Maybe eventually, but the launch library definitely isn't enough for me.

PastaPirate

I recently upgraded from the original Rift to a Quest 2 before the price increase, and half the fun of VR is the weird sideloading stuff on PC and custom Beat Saber tracks. I don't really see the draw of a closed, wired system at this point even if the hardware itself is great.

Perkin Warbeck

I wish I could drive the GT7 cars in VR but I can’t spend $500 just for that.

Legion Vs Ninja

I'm considering it, but I doubt my wife would let me after all the spending we've been doing lately. If it was something she could use, too, it would be an easier sell. But, she gets motion sickness pretty easily, so she refuses to use/try my Oculus Rift.

Ben R

I'm really close to impulse buying one, if there was just one more really good game. I expect it might happen in a few months.

Chris G

It looks cool, but I can't justify the cost at the moment. Might get it at the first price drop.

Onion Pete’s Art Haven for Rad Folk

Came this morning and after setting up the previous PSVR to the ps5 just to remember how awful of an experience that was made me love the single cord plug and play nature of the PSVR2. Not having that screen door effect in my eyes, not using ps3 move controllers and no cameras have made the whole thing a 100 times better. Still most of the same games just updated, but still like RE Village, No Mans Sky and a few rhythm games today (looking at you RagnaRock) have already solidified my purchase. I have started having tracking trouble as nighttime came and the light in my rooms started to get dimmer. Will have to adjust thay, but otherwise it's a solid piece of tech.

Joe Wilson

I've got an original PSVR, Quest 1, and Quest 2...and maybe 4 good games between them. I'm done. Alyx tethered to my PC with the Quest was the one good VR experience. Well that and Beat Saber.

Mattie Remix

Yeah, but I have no self control. I am glad I got it though. I have a Valve Index and love it. The advantage the PSVR2 has for me is that it's mostly just plug in an be playing right away. Every time I decide I want to jump into PC VR it's always like 20-30 minutes before I'm in a game because something isn't working right and I'm putzing around getting it working and/or reseting the bounds, etc. But that's PC gaming for you and VR just adds more to the equation. Plus, I'm an idiot with a driving wheel and pedals and GT7 is really great. None of the driving games on PC have great progression to keep me engaged.

Kevin Augustine

PSVR2 is my first vr hardware. It’s fucking awesome for console. Worth it.

Tom Ma

No I don't have any space for it

ToastCrust

I'm not against the idea of getting one, but I want to see what the software support ends up being like, or the off chance someone does get it working on a pc

Kevin Augustine

From videos on social media, PSVR2 with a driving wheel and pedals and GT7 looks incredible. How is it working out for you? What wheel do you have?

Mattie Remix

It's fantastic. Hands down the best looking driving game I've played in VR. It runs smoothly. I have the Thrustmaster T300 RS and it plugged right in and worked without any tinkering.

Bee

I love VR and have a PS5. At the current price point the PSVR2 doesn't make financial sense to me. If it had access to the world of PC VR titles I would find it much more compelling.

Doug Piker

I bought the first PSVR when it was on the super sale and had fun the times I’ve used it, but I haven’t used it enough to get the new one at launch. I’d like to get PSVR2 but will hold off until the price cut.

Michael Hanrahan

I want to buy one, however I used to get car sick when I was a kid, so I'm potentially at risk for motion sickness, and that's a lot of money to spend on something that might make me sick (and not to find out until after I buy it)

Sean Hoyt

I have a Rift S and still pretty happy with it for the occasional Beat Saber or random escape room game.

Kristian

I’m waiting for more games, and for it to be available in store.

Jamie Dalton

I have the Index but hardly use it, and never fit anything new.

Handamonium

The HDR headlights aren't enough for me. The games on the Quest have parity in terms of gameplay potential, so I'm not coveting the detailed Sony exclusives. If something worthwhile comes out and they start giving away decent stuff on PS+, I'll think about it.

Shawn Kelly Jones

I preordered one, but cancelled shortly before release. Will probably get one if somebody ends up hacking together a way to use it on pc.

Tanooki Tom

I bought a PSVR2 and should be getting it soon. While I’ve fallen off VR in recent times, I wouldn’t say it’s anything like a jaded attitude or any kind of major skepticism. I’m not playing a wide assortment of regular titles these days (that’s a massive understatement), so I have the time and energy to get back on this track at this particular quiet period for me. VR holds its own unique appeal and the console experience of it is plenty good enough.

Ben Pollock

Maybe if Half Life Alyx gets confirmed. Even then, I can wait.

Matthew Leigh

I'll do it if/when that thing drops to 399. By that time I figure it'll have a lot more software too. I'm also assuming someone will have hacked it to also work with PC at that point.

Nis

not really interested in VR

Jan Klausa

My first VR headset, I don’t have a PC and I didn’t really like the Quest 2 when I had a chance to try it.

Dusty Staccato

I have a PS5, but I'm still working through my guilt about not using my old PSVR or my Quest 2 hardly ever. The next headset I buy is going to be a PC one anyway. I think VR is still at a stage where you need access to as much weird experimental stuff as possible, to keep you using the headset in between the bigger game releases.

大卫

Having a hard time getting in some quality game time as it is. Isolating myself with a VR headset isn't really an option.

ShadowSkill

I just do t see the point yet. I already have a Meta Quest 2 and high powered PC I can use AirLink on and the only games I’d want to play are already on it. Sony would need a serious software initiative to change my mind and I don’t see that happening with VR right now, especially on console.

ShadowSkill

The Meta Quest 2 without using AirLink or a cable to connect to a gaming PC is sort of like playing the phone version of a game instead of a pc or console version.

Mike from Santa Cruz

I bought a PSVR full package with Skyrim VR for $300 new not long after it released. I liked it. I’m the type who would have probably splurged for PSVR2 after that. I was laid off a month ago. They could not have released this at a worse time. That plus the very underwhelming launch lineup and the fact my VR “space” is confined to my couch at this point? I can’t afford it right now and even if I could, I don’t think it’s worth the price of entry.

Tyler S

I need them to extend compatibility to PC before I buy. I think they’d move crazy units if they did. I just can’t justify it for a closed system owned by a company that whiffed it during the last gen.

Anders Lønning

I recieved eone for review purposes, but yeah. I probably would have gotten one either way. I'm more positive on it than Jeff seems to be

Carac

I might if someone comes out with custom drivers for PC. I've got an Oculus Quest 2, I've got a Rift DK1, DK2, retail, and a OG Vive so a history of "collecting" headsets but these aren't restrictive in the way a PSVR2 is. I've had a PS5 since launch and all but a couple of the titles on it are already available. Most of which I own on PC or Quest. The one thing that would give it legs is the one thing Sony is pathologically incapable of, making it open, usable on PC. It's like lighting a candle in an container you've sealed off from air and complaining about the fire going out. Just give the candle air.

autumn sevier

no big interest . i have a psvr 1 and a quest 2. the psvr 1 was too big a hassle n i learned that with glasses you still need to wear them in vr so the end result for me ends up my glasses are too uncomfortable unless you also get lenses custom made for your headset too . i did that for the quest 2 which was alot better setup-wise than psvr 1 , i was hopeful about how 2 was to be curious about it Till 2 things. first the lack of backwards compatiblity with most? games makes me less than hype for it . then to top it off the price is just too much , it cost more than the system itseldf that you need it on and you still have to run a wire. couple that with the far as we know not being able to use it on pc alsi makes it less than ideal. if things were different i could have seen a case for it , but at this point we don't even know if sony will support it that well cause the last model they didn't. and 3rd party so far doesn't seem like it has anything i can't get either on my quest2 or steam n use said quest 2

Chris Van Graas

It's now been around 10 years since I got an Oculus DK1, and it feels like we're still in the weird early adopter phase.

amatt

I already own a rift S, while the PSVR2 does seem like a quality piece of kit I find it hard to justify the cost of an expensive addon for a closed system. Whereas a PC headset would, in theory, last through as I upgrade my PC

Shane Mulcahy

I'm really interested in VR in general and I do plan on getting a PSVR2 someday...but not right now at launch with how expensive it is, and the fact that I'll be incurring plenty necessary expenses this year. Also, I think that the PSVR 2 should have been a 2024 release, especially since PS5 can still be difficult to come by and expensive (like here in Ireland and the rest of Europe at €550). I want to see the PSVR do well for the sake of VR gaming, but I'm not super confident it will with that initial price point.

Aaron Lamb

I don't have a PS5 (although I will when it makes sense financially). Even if I had a PS5, VR just doesn't appeal to me yet.

Troy Wagner

The fact that you have to buy the PS5 along with the PSVR2 is such a bummer to me. I know it’s wishful thinking to want it to work standalone, but I bet that’s going to be the biggest hurdle for a ton of people (myself included).

Kevin Cormac Lenaghan

Got myself a Quest 2 a few months ago and have been modding alot of Steam games, and feeling like I have access to a really big library of VR games as a result. Only have a GTX 1660 SUPER, so I am sure the PSVR 2 probably has better fidelity, etc. If I hadn't already bought a headset I might consider it, but I am pretty happy with my current setup, and already played through Resident Evil 2, 3, 7, and 8 with full motion controls. Don't currently feel like I am missing out.

Jared

A friend game me an old Oculus when they upgraded. I played Superhot once, then nothing after. Later, the lighthouses fell off my wall after the tape I used to put them up lost adhesiveness. It's been collecting dust since. VR has not advanced in a way that I care about since it was introduced.

Conor Devine

Happy enough with the Quest 2 and link cable for pc VR if needed.. Still kind limited for space so no interest in any other VR, and PSVR2 is priced too high to be any sort of impulse purchase.

Charlotte

I like VR, but the return on investment is really poor. It feels like paying $50 for a good sandwich, I mean it's a good sandwich but come on.

F!5H

I don't own a Playstation but I would be really interested if it supported PC VR. I have a powerful PC and my ageing Oculus Rift S and seems like the PSVR would be a meaningful improvement

Joseph DeFrank

I'm a sucker for any new tech. Have to try it out, if I hate it, I'll sell it.

Alec

Still using a regular HTC Vive

Andy Claiborn

My son has an oculus, but I barely play games as is anymore and the cost to use ratio is just too high for a whim

Aaron J

I have a PSVR 1 that I picked up on a whim and enjoyed more than I expected to, but didn’t really touch after a few weeks. I want a PSVR2 but the price point puts it just beyond “fun money” into “sober purchase” territory, and it’s just not a priority. Maybe we’ll see a Black Friday 2024 bundle or something. I’m definitely in the “don’t own a gaming PC and never will” camp.

Kacho

I’m that “specific kind of guy” who went from Virtuality to Virtual Boy to PSVR1 to… nothing for a long time because I don’t do high end PCs, and I had those terrible tracking issues with the first one. So I totally got it and I’m loving the stratospheric leap from 1 to 2.

Paul

VR coverage is fine ~every once in a while~, but unless there's something particularly cool or interesting to share, most of us probably won't notice/care if it's never brought up again.

Kurt kless

I have a quest 2 that isn't getting used enough. While psvr2 sounds great, I just can't justify that large of an expense. Maybe its a holiday item? But I think I need to see it at least $100 lower if not more.

Joe Carney

VR feels a lot like mobile. The top 10 games have been the top 10 games for a very long time, and there's not much need to check back in, if you've already had those experiences.

Danielle Oliveira Carneiro

PS5s only became more widely available in recent weeks over here and while I do want to play GT7 in VR, getting both the console and headset at once is a bit much but I’ll get to it eventually

jason plasky

zero interest in VR until it is like the Holodeck from Star Trek

AoButa

If enough of the pc library ports itself to ps5, and the ecosystem grows I’ll consider it. It doesn’t feel such a bad investment considering meta is run by clueless weirdos and valve seems to have lost interest. But we’ve already seen Sony release good, dead on arrival, products so better to hold for a while. Price will eventually go down, really no reason to rush.

Brian K

If I had a PS5 I probably wouldn't be interested. I have an Oculus and that sadly gives me motion sickness. Even at the comfort levels.

James Layman

I bought PSVR1 at launch and, even though its fidelity was never that good and the Move controllers were kind of a joke, I was glad I had it. But that investment ($400ish for the headset, probably another $200 or so on games in that first year or so?) was mostly for a couple dozen fun but short play sessions, and a half dozen or so "hey friend, try this neat thing for 5 minutes!" events. I'd hesitate to do it again at the same price, much less in a more expensive version and with much of my previous VR library not transferring over. If they told me I could plug the headset into my PC and it'd work easily for PC stuff, too, that might be enough to change my mind...

Sabas

have a PS5 and currently own a quest 2. I definitely wouldn't mind picking up a PSVR2 but it's kinda pricey and I don't have a good idea of how much and how long Sony will support the thing.

kinto

Waiting to see if people can get it to work on PC. I think if Sony really wants to move units, they would make their own PC drivers and market that it kinda works on PC but best on ps5 or something.

Merc-a-dude

I can't seem to vote but initially I was gung ho about owning it. In fact I purposely held off on playing some PSVR games or purchasing a Meta Quest because I wanted something more powerful. The lack of games and the absurd cost, along with some off-putting design choices such as not being compatible with PC and a complete lack of backwards compatibility with PSVR1 has me still waiting for something better. Whether that's the Quest 3, a deal on a quest or simply taking Jeff's advice and using that fund to upgrade my PC rig so that I'm one step closer to a Phasmophobia, Duck Season, Half-Life Alex (none of which have been even hinted at for PSVR2 by the way) future.

IGIW4H

I want one, but like you said on the podcast, the fact that it’s stuck with the PS5’s walled garden makes that purchase really hard to justify. I didn’t expect anything different, but PC compatibility would’ve made it a *much* easier purchase.

Danial Shaikh

I'd like to try it out but as you mentioned on the podcast, the lack of cross-platform compatibility kind of sucks. Also, it's really expensive and hard to justify given the economic climate. Overall, VR just feels like a nice to have rather than a must have.

brian Yu

I’m in wait and see mode. Need more amazing exclusives to get me to jump in. Horizon sounds not that great

Spandir

Have a valve index, no need to get another.

Got one yesterday and played a bunch of stuff yesterday. They managed to make Thumper even more intense. I’m very impressed so far.

I did some time trial on the new California track in VR yesterday. It was pretty freaking awesome! I don’t even have a wheel.

I’m a maybe

Frederic Thibeault

I can't even see in 3D... the whole VR thing is a wash for me.

Matteo

I got one. I’m still hoping for the VR dream. My PC is too old to do VR, and I just haven’t felt compelled to upgrade it yet because it does everything else I’m interested well enough still. I’m hoping that by the time I do buy a new PC, enthusiasts will have figured out how use the PSVR2 on PC, and I’ll have access to most everything

caseman

I own a launch Oculus Rift. I already spent a stupid amount of money on VR. No thanks.

Peter T

When the hardware details came out I was sure this would be a day one purchase for me. Cost isn't the problem, it's cheaper than getting a VR capable PC and headset. But that software launch lineup, woof. Even if they just ported all of the original PSVR games that would help, but I just couldn't justify it.

Courtney Merrifield

I checked the preorder process on Sunday, decided to put in an order and everything was delivered. Probably not a great sign. That said, I like checking out VR. Have an Oculus 2 and Index now. Had PSVR1, Rift DK, Rift 2, and Vive at various times. Always thought the PSVR hheadset had beautiful screens, but the tracking was so bad. Excited to break this out over the weekend and check out the few experiences out there. Would LOVE for this to work on PC in the future.

Jeremy Lloyd

I got one. I have not had chance to spend too much time with it yet. But, liking what I have played so far. I got Star wars tales from the galaxy's edge. I finally might get Rez, been wanting to get it since playing a demo on the Dreamcast. I am also considering No man's sky for the first time. Getting in a ship and going to space in VR sounds cool. You sold me on GT7 I was wanting to reinstall anyway.

Maverick Lee Back

When Hitman has an announcement, then I will start saving for one lol

Larry

I’ve got a Quest 2 and that shits been collecting dust for a few months now. I won’t lie, for a sec fomo kicked in then realized if I really wanted to play any of the games out for it minus the Aloy joint I could just throw on my Zuck.

Michael Dillon

I have one and am loving it so far as it’s my first VR headset! I really hope Half-Life: Alyx shows up, but I’m not giving Facebook any money and don’t want an Index because I want inside-out tracking.

MunnyShh

I am genuinely interested, but am opting to wait for as long as I can tolerate. It's the access to PC for whatever else that I'm most interested in - if it was accessible to both, that would be ideal and an instant buy for me. I'd probably even buy games on PS5 since it'd just simplify how I access them and because the PS5 is more powerful than my PC at this point.

Kpapa

I’d love to have it, but it’s too expensive, and doesn’t work with my family. It’s a lot like a corvette.

Ian K

I bought a first-gen Oculus Rift and enjoyed it, but it got harder and harder to find space to set up all the gear. So I was pretty excited to see that PSVR2 was inside-tracking capable. Preordered it maybe a month ago and it arrived yesterday. It’s looks great, but it’s making me realize that I need glasses. Wasn’t totally blown away by Horizon, but I see the potential of the hardware.

Bears in Games Neo

I'm interested! But I want to get a logi wheel first.

Ian McHale

Perhaps if the price drops *and* there is enough content that I'd want to play; seems silly (for me) to make that spend for maybe ~10-20 hours of total play time with the device; obviously seeing folks like yourself demo some of that content is helpful

Rory Taylor

I didn't buy one and don't plan to in the near future. Perhaps if it would have been backwards compatible with PSVR1 games I'd be more on board. It's expensive, but I don't think it's too expensive when compared to other VR headsets, but it's just more than I want to spend on a gimmicky peripheral that I might only mess around with once in a while. The hardware seems nice but the software just isn't there to me, although RE Village VR and GT7 do seem cool. There doesn't seem to be a killer ap type of game that justifies the purchase.

UltimAXE

I just have absolutely zero interest in VR, and as it becomes more expensive, they push me even further away from giving a shit.

Mario Robles

Games on the PSVR2 will not look as good as my Sony A95K screen or sound better than 7.1 home theater system so I will say for me the price is too hight just for the "VR" experience.

Brad Arnold

I’m waiting on about 5 big freelance jobs to pay before I can buy one but RE8, GT7 and No Man’s Sky are really my big draws. I don’t care for most VR games (or the weird stuff, sorry) but I’ve loved several big budget games that have been playable in VR. I recall Sony stating a year or two ago that that’s where they’re focusing their development funds for PSVR2 - incentivizing publishers to build out full VR modes on their AAA titles. Not sure if it’ll pay off but I personally like that strategy. I can play weird N64 looking jank on my Quest 2. If I’m buying another headset I want AAA VR to be the differential and the only way that happens if if its an additional mode to flat game titles. It doesn’t make any financial sense to make dedicating AAA VR games at this point.

Ryan Green

I cancelled my preorder because I just can’t afford it (not for a lack of interest). It is a lot of money, but what you get for the price seems like great hardware.

zma1013

I have a PSVR1 and an Oculus Quest 2, I'm good on VR for now until either the price of PSVR2 lowers and/or some amazing exclusive comes out that I just need to have.

Thomas Gannon

So, how was it? I’m still rocking my PS4. I’ve been reluctant to go current gen because all the major games are still coming out on the older systems (is it just me, or has this been an extra-long crossover period with AAA titles still being released day and date on both gens?) Anyway, I was thinking that a PS5/PSVR2.0 bundle deal just might justify making the console upgrade, but I want to hear more from people who have tried the new VR before I drop a grand on silly vidja gamz.

Thomas Gannon

But can you smell colors and/or taste sounds? All joking aside, do you really not have depth perception? Sorry if it’s too personal…

Thomas Gannon

Let’s develop a VR game where we can throw off the chains of our capitalist oppressors and eat the rich, starting with the tasty VR headset-owners!

Thomas Gannon

If I were a gambler, I’d bet that Sony has got something up their sleeve about backwards compatibility with PSVR1.0. I was flipping flabbergasted when I heard the new system didn’t play the old games. But then again, I guess the tracking (???) is better in the new headset, so maybe it’s going to take a little extra work for games to run on the new hardware?

Frederic Thibeault

I was born sith strabismus and my brain never "learned" to see in 3d, the only way I can have "depth" perception is by knowing the relative size of objects in a distance and kind of extrapolate how far they are.

Kyle S.

I like Gran Turismo 7 so much I'd almost get one just for that game... But not for $550. That price is NUTS.

Digital Demigod

I would've had to wait to get it normally, but I've been working two full time jobs (luckily both work at home) and so I was like fuck it. I enjoyed the hell out of PSVR and I've been working 75-80 hours per week for the last 2 years. I didn't even hesitate. And I love the thing. No Man's Sky is amazing. Hoping for a Skyrim VR update. But I agree the price was too hight. I got the Horizon bundle and dual sense charger, so that was like $650?
