This Mario movie is smashing all types of records while people seem decidedly mixed on it. Should I take my daughter to see it or would she have an absolute meltdown in a movie theater? We’ll also discuss Terra Nil, Crime Boss: Rockay City, Crab Champions, Nintendo’s new live show, the end of Dreams, and way more.

I found the movie underwhelming but overall mildly amusing. Lots of fun little Easter eggs, looks good (aside from the terrible dog design Illumination uses in every single one of its movies), sounds good, but it doesn’t greatly outweigh a bare bones script. Could’ve been better, could’ve been worse.

For what its worth, I, a 25 year old man, loved the Mario movie

Jeff Gerstmann

Yeah, that's the impression I've gotten from people who have seen it so far, seems like she'd really enjoy it.

Yes. Your daughter will love that you’re taking her to things you’re interested in (even midly so). If she has a meltdown it’ll be a memory you’ll never forget! :)

Jodero's Art Page

Yes, your daughter will enjoy. She'll may even wanna play the old Princess Peach game after.

My 3 year old niece loved it in theaters and the 11 am Friday theater was packed with kids (Good Friday)

Even after 45 episode, the company is still able to get Jeff Gerstmann on as host. 45 times. Incredible.

My problem with EDF is the price tag

My wife and I took our (young) 7 year old daughter to this. It was her first theater experience and she did great. She got upset during two scenes but we just took her out of the theater, walked around a bit, and she wanted to go back in.

Crime Boss Rockay City sounds like if the shooting was better i would like it. Payday 2 but the writing is even stupider and extremely corny? Sure why not! Not for full price tho

I think in a game where the dialogue and story are a main draw, voice acting can go a long way in making that dialogue work and making those characters feel real. But having the fallout guy speak the words i just read and selected just feels like a waste of my time
