Thank you for discussing The Telepathy Tapes. I found it exploitative (emotionally, especially) and not scientifically rigorous enough (peer reviews are skeptical, amid other bunk science). Further, my four year old is autistic and currently nonverbal. I often feel like I can read his mind, and perhaps he feels like he can read mine. That is a feeling born of attentiveness, love, and pattern recognition (something those with autism can be particularly adept at). I know I am not actually reading my son’s mind, but any amount of emotional connection with him is so powerful it feels supernatural. That’s what I heard in The Telepathy Tapes—pattern recognition, love, emotion, but not science. It’s alluring, which is why the podcast is so powerful, but it is not science. And the way it seems to be convincing even skeptics is just another concerning variable to add to the 2025 cauldron.

Great episode as always guys. I want to comment on Dave saying that the mainstream media or “legacy media” had “failed.” I somewhat disagree. When I hear “fail” I think of someone who is at least trying to accomplish something, a mission, and not succeeding - like taking an exam. I will take this to my grave that the media, including CNN and the NYT, was in full consciousness in how they “reported” the news. They wanted Trump to win this entire time. 100%. No way one can explain how NYT puts what Trump had said about dictators on page 10, while placing every Democrat misstep on the front page. Or how CNN dedicated a segment of how Kamala wasn’t black enough while completely ignoring that Trump is a fascist. The media did not fail. They succeeded. Dave is right. How we get information has completed changed from Twitter to Facebook. And I think “legacy”’media has completely and willingly turned its back to the American people for their own greed. We’re in a for a wild ride.

Without sharing my thoughts, I have a close family member who, otherwise is extremely(!) logical in their thinking, has latched onto content by Tyler Henry, The Hollywood Medium. It feels like, to me, that the Telepathy Tapes is operating in the same, misunderstood and under-researched space. The big difference is, with the podcast, the potential for lasting negative effect is greater because the subjects are living.

I spend a lot of time in Paranormal Weirdo Internet because of my own personal baggage about why people believe weird untrue things, and watching that go from Ghosts And UFOs subreddit famous to charting above Rogan is absolutely horrifying. I love the idea of you doing something to help take that shit apart.

Thanks! Doing great, been largely off social media for all the reasons you know too well. This year has been full of wild adventures of many flavors, mostly wonderful. House full of teens and dogs keeps me very in the moment. I don't miss spending time online but I like documenting my life, sharing creative projects, and staying in touch with people, so I might dip a toe back in this year. Appreciate you saying hi!
