Have a Happy American Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to you both! This episode reminded me how much I missed Lunar New Year in my first year abroad, and how much of a misfit I felt during my first several years in the US, even after learning English for 10+ years beforehand. I think that’s inevitable for many immigrants. Thank you for sharing so honestly!

I relate so much to what David is saying about wanting to seem competent in a foreign country. I am very sensitive to this when i travel to the point where i have to consciously not let it ruin my day. I don’t want to be an imposition on locals / an annoying tourist. I think this is partially because I’m from New York where the word tourist is used almost exclusively in a derisive manner

Always enjoy listening to these. I wouldn’t feed the cats myself but would leave water for them. The backyard might be a place they chill as cats do have territory that they like to patrol.

*chants* FEED THE CATS! FEED THE CATS!

Maddox Finkel

Those are what I might call CONSPICUOUSLY adorable cats

One update you’ve both been derelict of your duties of reporting: does the futurama phone work?

those cats don't look particularly skinny, so i dont think you need to worry too much if you decide not to feed them. i am a cat lover and have an 'always feed the strays'. policy. over the years, i ended up adding 3 very wonderful furry family members! Two have passed now, despite the sorrow and the expense -- it's so worth it for the daily joy they bring. even if you aren't cat people, they have a way of turning you.
