Happy Tuesday everyone! To those of you who celebrate Easter, I hope you had a good Easter weekend and I hope everyone else enjoyed the bank holiday!

Following on from last week's simple start at painting flowers on different angles, we are putting it into practise with a cluster of yellow primroses. We have clusters of these flowers growing all over the place! This week, not only are we angling the flower heads but we're also navigating our way round a cluster of overlapping flowers.

I have linked below to my Youtube tutorial of a Primrose just in case you would like a bit more practise. We are going to be painting in this controlled loose style for a while as we play with composition but we will be going even more detailed with the flowers themselves eventually.

This is a private youtube link which only you sweet pea and cherry blossom patrons have access to.

You will need

some watercolour paper

A range of paintbrushes

Paint

Jar of water

Kitchen roll to blot the brush

Eraser & pencil

After watching the video...

First have a go at sketching out a cluster of primroses in pencil and make sure you account for the area taken up by the span of the petals.

Paint along with the watercolour challenge and see how you get on!

This looks lovely. I am a new Patreon and I added the painting challenge I did last week to Instagram using the tags. I find Instagram very difficult to use though and I could hardly find anyone else's to look at. I think I found one other. So I am not sure if I did it right. Also all my friends saw what I did and commented and were very polite about it, although it wasn't very good. I am looking forward to doing this one when I have time. It is beautiful. I don't think I will put it on Instagram again though. I hope I can see other's when I look. Thanks for doing such beautiful tutorials.

Hi April, everyone paints these in their own time, it's rare that people paint them immediately as they come out but they turn up there eventually! Wonderful that your friends who aren't patrons can also see and comment! Getting the last few comments in from the poll about where else we can share our work together.
