Hi everyone! Well done to those of you who had a go at our cat painting last week. We also had a fun cat painting live session with the cherry blossoms this weekend so I'm excited to see what you create in this session.

***We lost the side-angle footage of the first half of the video so I apologise if my hand masks the painting a bit***

Today is a quick masterclass in turning loose watercolour blends into lovely cat fur patterns, allowing you to paint any breed of cat you like.

Welcome to all our new Patrons, I hope you're finding your way around my Patreon ok. Don't forget, you can always send me a message if you have any specific questions. Discord is by far the best place for comments and tips on any paintings you've done as a result of the watercolour challenges as you can post your pictures and see how each other are getting on.

If you are new to painting then I highly recommend going back to the first watercolour challenges and working through the first through to get your basic techniques going. Then you can pick and choose whatever you like!

This is a private youtube link which only you sweet pea and cherry blossom patrons have access to.

You will need

watercolour paper (mine is 6x8 inches)

your regular watercolour kit, colours I used: Yellow Ochre,  Mars Black, Burnt Sienna, Paynes Grey, Cadmium Yellow, but play around and experiment

After watching the video...

Have a go at the fur painting techniques and then I would like you to paint a cat of your own choosing! The position, the size, the breed...everything is down to you! ENJOY!

I am so excited to see your paintings! Have a wonderful week. Dont forget to share your pieces on Instagram and Discord!
